Guys, in India , if you happened to be booked under section 420 ........then it meant you had a case of cheating and fraud against you. In this case Amitabh is just trying to be funny when he says he lives in a house whose number happens to be 420. This movie had a big star cast and was a major hit in those days ! It was a really funny and an enjoyable movie and you guys would adore watching Amitabh in it ! 😊😊😊
His playback voice was kishore kumar who sang 90 percent of his songs. Fun fact - kishore kumar himself was a great actor mostly known for his comic roles in the 50s and 60s.
yes Tish, you are quite observant and piecing it together quite well indeed. The Indian filmmakers did watch Hollywood very seriously those days. Kishore Kumar's yoddle he picked from an American singer. Look at the clothes worn even by the extras you do not see repetition - the tux and all that. As is the interiors and of course the impeccable timing of Amitabh even way back then. Yes, the dance Willy Wonka you are right. Did you know that an actor called Dev Anand (an icon of Indian cinema) used to be called the Gregory Peck of India (catch a pic of him on Google and look at his nose, lips and hair style - eyes don't match as Peck had that wide forehead and typical piercing eyes). professor seems to be watching the girls more - she is Parveen Babi the actress very good looking - check out Zeenat Aman who won a beauty show in New York and was quickly spotted by none other than Dev Anand.
Wow still remember this movie.... All our family watch this movie on Amber osker maynor.....in Andheri....... now shoppers Stop...is there...... love the old memories....... thanks to God..🙏🙏🙏

The singer is Kishore Kumar, he was the most expensive singer in 70s and he sang all the songs of Amitabh. He is telling the no. of his house 420 to the girls in the song.

Nice Reaction Professor. And do you know the actress of this movie was Parveen Bobby and some year ago she died due to Aids. She was act in many movies along-with Amitab Bacchan who is the Great actor of Bolywood. And his T.V. knowledgeable game "Kon banaga Crore Pati" Means Who will become millionaires.
In India 420 is the clause in the Indian Penal Code for fraud/cheating. By the way 302 is for first degree murder. You will see a lot of references to these in Indian movies.
Hello, this is Tish! Jeremy and I are happy to hear that you're enjoying our videos! We've been married nearly 26 years, so our chemistry shows through the screen :)
Parveen Babi the actress in the song was (probably still is) the only Indian actor ever to appear on the cover of Time magazine. Btw, rightly pointed out by others, 420 is a section in the Indian Penal Code for fraud. The reference here is meant to be rather light-hearted. He figuratively refers to himself as a loveable fraud 😄 Amitabh Bachchan sings but he isn’t singing here. The playback is by the famous and versatile Kishore Kumar (himself an actor, writer, producer and director) who lent his voice to Amitabh Bachchan in almost all his films in the ‘70s and early ‘80s.
Its a playback singer called Kishore Kumar (1 of most successful playback singers of 70-80).. That high-pitched toodle is usually referred to as yodeling and only Kishore Kumar is successful in using it in Indian cinema. 420 is reference to IPC420 which is for cheating/fraud, here it's reference also to his movie coolie where in he's a porter(coolie in hindi) with the no 420..
Enjoyed the reaction but there's something wrong with this vid, i noticed your mouths move but the words are super delayed, not sure if something went wrong when uploading it but just letting you know
The actress was classed very western for her time and she was very confident specially abt her looks that she once said in an interview that she carried the smallest mirror as she had a secure ego and she said shatrugan sinha the male actor had the largsst mirror clearly stating the guy was ugly she also called amitabh bachan ugly thats the only interview she gave before she passed in 2005 but the interview was funny she reckoned you could only call the kapoors and dharmendra good looking she spoke really well almost like a Londoner
He is saying, he is all alone in the world. His heart as well as home is empty, there is no one there. So he discloses his address , all in funny way.-- Love avenue, Beauty Suburb, Room no 420. The man in white is a body guard of the beautiful lady-Parveen Babi. Body guard doesnt want Amitabh to go closer to her, because he wants to marry her. But at the end Amitabh manages to get his lady love. Haha. Its all funny. But look at the performance.
420 is a section of Indian penal court for fraud and forgery.. 😊 Song is sung by Late Kishore Kumar, a legend who was known to make his singing voice sound like the on-screen person he was singing for. Big B has said the English jibberish line “coefficient of the linear” etc.. and it’s impossible to figure out the difference. Big B is not considered a great dancer like the Khans or Hrithik Roshan but his facial expressions are just out of this world. He dances like a common man and his dancing style is the most imitated one by general public. You may want to research a bit about the 5 gems of Indian playback singing :- Lata Mangeshkar Asha Bhosle Kishore Kumar Mohammad Rafi Mukesh. That will help your understanding of Indian cinema a lot.
Hello, this is Tish! We have seen the names of a few of these playback singers. I totally agree with your take on Big B's dancing style - it's the common man, for sure. Thanks for sharing all of this :)
Movie Community College Kishore Kumar was the voice of Big B in most of earlier films. Big B sang only very few songs . “Rang barse bheege chunar wali “ is the most famous song sung by Big B. Be warned that it’s a song full of double entendres as is the norm for songs for the color festival Holi. In fact the song is about an extra marital affair. Once Kishore Kumar passed away, people realized how difficult it is to sing for Big B because Big B has a baritone while most singers have a soft voice. Initially Sudesh bhosle sang few of Big Bs songs like Jumma Chumma but he was a good mimic at best. So he was unable to sing moody emotional songs that well. That’s why directors and composers now prefer Big B to sing his own songs as that is way better than Sudesh Bhosle and because other singers voice don’t suit Big B. While Big B cannot be as good a singer as Kishore Kumar, he has proven to be a very good performer.
Hello, this is Tish! I love Big B's voice - but that won't surprise you :) The first time I noticed that it was actually him singing was while watching "Bhoothnath". That was one of the first Indian films I'd ever seen and I picked it on purpose because I knew Big B was in it. Because I was so new to Indian films, I was unaware that Big B could sing and dance - I only knew him at that point from "Piku" and other newer films! He is a phenomenal performer because he can do it all. He really is India's national treasure! I have seen the video of him singing "Rang Barse Bheege Chunar Wali". As I said, I love his voice!
Professor and Warrior queen. 420 is a collquial term for a "cheater, conman and dishonest individual". Its a commonly used term used to refer to a scoundrel. The number 420 actually refers to the IPC (indian penal code) under which police books a conman or cheat or fraud. Its the exact legal code under which a the person is charged and booked. The number itself has hence become synonymous with a cheat or two-timers..hehehe. Hope that clears that.
Parveen Babi and Zeenat Aman were the most glamorous and beautiful actresses, MashaAllah, and Amitabh pairing with them was the best. Sadly Parveen Babi passed away. It would have been nice if you understood the lyrics. They were some feel messages in there. Playback singing was mostly done by playback singers and the parts were one had to talk the actors participated with their own voice. Amitabh though has done some singing too in some movies
In the Indian Penal Code section 420 refers to laws governing fraud and cheating. Bollywood has picked that up and refers to any character which is involved is committing fraud and petty theft as 420. Which is what Big B's character does in this movie. That's it no more spoilers 😂
Hi Guys, the top hat is probably adopted from the western attires we had influenced by Britishers, I dont think it has to do with Willy Wonka. Prof yes Parveen Babi , a muslim actress ( very western looking for her era) was very beautiful , good observation on almond eyes. More like Middle eastern looks if hers.
Hello, this is Tish! "Amar Akbar Anthony" is on our very long list of must-watch films :) We have already watched and reviewed "Deewaar" - we loved it! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h5Ub_P3zScQ.html
