I guess you did not get the Hindu, Muslim, Christian leads.. the masalaness of the song is that the main characters are singing their own name throughout the song, but nobody recognizes them... greatness of manmohan Desai the director - the entertainment value comes first before logic. This Same movie has a scene of 3 sons unknowingly giving blood to mom at the same time...3 blood tubes going to same bottle and then to mom... It was supposed to be a hallmark masala scene of the time. “Think of masala as guilty pleasure. Usually with some cringe involved... popcorn movie”

You might wholly Not enjoy Chupke chupke as it relies a lot on wordy, language based humour. Which might not be easy to sub, but otherwise it is a fabulous sit com. Also watch a total laugh riot- Bombay to Goa. A road film with an amazing ensemble of characters. Zanjeer which gave him the title of Angry Young Man is also a must watch. They all are masala films and yet classics. You can translate Masala as People pleaser. It has something for everyone. Strong hero, appealing heroine, comedy , songs, larger than life villains. Like every fairy tale our movies show a common mans journey towards being a hero and vanquishing the villains. Enjoy!

So basically Masala is a mix of different genres! If a movie has not a specific genre, but has a mix of a lot of things, especially Action & Comedy, some emotional scenes in between, a bit of romance, that’s the recipe of a Masala film. Most of Rohit Shetty movies are masala. Chennai Express is a good one, you guys would like it. SRK & Deepika.

When there's legit a subtitle under the introduction of 'Akbar' saying "IDENTIFY HIM GUYS!!" And they laughed it off like it was a joke. Rishi Kapoor sure is smiling down from up there. :)

There are a lot of Christians here and the colour for the bride’s clothes is white like in the west . Although some were gowns like Anglo Indians and some ppl from the city but others mostly wear a saree .

Not all brides wear red in India, even if you consider just Hindus. In my own family, the brides wear colorful sarees. Many wear white sarees for weddings even in Hindu traditions. Just changes based on each family 😊

This movie is hilarious, over the top, story constantly moving along briskly with one event after another. Not the critics' favourite but you won't be disappointed. In India, we call it paisa vasool(getting your money's worth).

If you're must choose between Chupke Chupke and AAA, go for Chupke Chupke. It is far funnier. Some Indian Christians (particularly those that converted during colonial rule) tend to follow Western wedding traditions. Other Christians have adapted them to local traditions like the Syrian Christians in Kerala wear saris for the wedding and you may have noticed in Mary Kom that the bridal couple wore wedding garlands.
