I was surprised they went for Amarius Mims at first when he was supposed to drop. I mean I had concerns about not many games due to injury but with his size and height as a rare kind of prospect from a great school for football, it’s a nice pick. Future right tackle, development behind Brown county (Orlando & Trent), even steps up if Trent goes down as their guy. Bengals love guys out of Georgia. My biggest question is will he stay healthy when he becomes a starter or step up? and Will the O-line be complete with LG in question to keep burrow upright safely? Because the last time we saw Burrow play a game, his ligament snapped in his right wrist passing a TD to Mixon. They have to protect their franchise QB which they had to take an O lineman (RT) and they did just that to get that all set.
I agree. Plus Mims potential is unheard of. His measurable's are jaw dropping. He weighs 340 pounds, but only looks like he weighs around 280 pounds. Mims is an extremely rare athlete for his size that only comes along every 10-20 years. Barring injury, he'll be unstoppable in due time.
In the long run Mims should be the better pick but in short term......fautanu could have been immediate impact being upgrade over volson. Which is now In my opinion the thing to address somehow. Whether by signing Dalton risner or trading someone Like dax hill who doesn't really have a spot yet
