With the outback armour shocks, and without a diff drop; have you ever noticed the CVs clicking under acceleration, or when towing? When the shocks are at full droop.
The Outback Armour shocks i fitted were supposedly only 5mm longer than standard. No, i did not notice a clicking issue under those circumstances, but i didnt tow.
Are you running original springs or aftermarket ?. I'm thinking of installing the Dobinson shocks and springs which will give a 30mm lift. Not sure if that is too much for the CV's ?
Mine has Outback Armour front shocks and coils, which i recommend. I tailored the lift to about 30mm. Up to about 35mm is fine for the CV's. If the centre of wheel to guard height measurement exceeds 560mm the CV's die quickly and the hillclimbing ability is poor due to wheel lift and hence traction loss.
Wouldn't the OEM upper control arms be playing a part too? Obviously a diff drop kit is needed too... Edit: How where the wheel alignment readings after installing the kit and is there much/any scope for adjustment in the OEM components or are eccentric bushes and whatnot starting to become a necessary consideration? 🤔 I wonder if there's a product or feasible method for fitting portal hubs... Shame the Yanks haven't developed a long arm IFS kit for em....
In the absence of a diff drop, a lift of 40mm is the max the CV's can handle, and the std upper control arms are fine with that. A diff drop could allow more lift, but the more angle the lower control arms are on at ride height the more erratic the handling, due to track change during suspension movement.
