That's basically where all of the uchiha techniques came from, Shintoism. Why else do you think the first time Izanami was used in a cave? Because the goddess Izanami fled into the underworld after giving birth to a god of fire (who was then cut into 6 pieces that each became new gods).
Phav -_ Bahia Susanoo is the god of storms and the sea... who happened to have been resentful of Amaterasu, to which she then fled and hid in a cave until the other gods had to lure her out with a mirror.
Wow..so thats how Naruto got their Eye names...The Amaterasu(Uchihas),The Tsukiyumi(Eye powers), Susano'o(Ultimate defense and offense)...So this is where they got it...hmm....u learn something everyday :D
no relation, people all over the world had megalithics, turns out they all needed ways to mark places and they all could see that stacking stones on top them was the easiest
When I was in Japan in 2005 I had the pleasure of visiting shrines some of Japan's most important deities: Amaterasu-kami, Kannon, Fujin and Raijin, Fudo myoo, and the seven lucky gods of good fortune (Fukurokuju, Jurojin, Hotei, Ebisu, Daikoku, Benzaiten, and Bishamonten)
What an excellent story! This account reminds me of the version told in The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell. ...btw i think the dancing goddess is Uzume the goddess of laughter :)
Ameterasu always seemed extremely selfish to me and Susanoo misunderstood, its almost as if she purposely did things to set Susanoo off/get him in trouble its like a parallel for a human brother and sister.
+crimsonninja Well that's the whole point, isn't it? To bring the incomprehensible concept of deity down to the human level? And they were brother and sister after all. What siblings don't scrap?
IamTenzin lol, thats true im probably just sympathizing as my own situation with my sister is very similar to what Susanoo is depicted going through minus the fantasy parts.
Thing is someone else must have seen that mirror otherwise nobody would know it was there, and who would maintain it, transport it and keep it guarded? Don't see the emperor of japan doing all that himself. Also who analysed it and said "Ah yes this is the very first mirror, i can tell as i have been to university and we must keep this guarded forever" lol He probably bought it at Ikea :P
Just because it could be made up by humans, doesn't mean it is. She did say there were humans who witnessed the disappearing of the sun. People have their own beliefs and you should respect that.
The story sounds a little like Jesus's death, when the light of the world had fallen, and then his resurrection and promise of coming back once more, which was shown in Amaterasu's return. The bloodied horse probably refers to the speed of the growing followers of Christ, and the blood probably refers to the time when Jesus carried his cross, bloodied with the crown of thorns, or the persecutions of Jesus' followers.
I thought she will explain about dojutsu ninjutsu amaterasu in naruto.. And i heard izanagi and its an dojutsu and kekkei genkai and tsukuyomi she said susanoo to
