That agate is absolutely stunning! All the bands are so defined and almost no fractures at all, to top it all off that glow from the uv light was gorgeous
That was amazing! What a huge agate, and in true brazilian form, those banding lines! It was big and gorgeous and you did a fantastic job polishing it! Thank you for sharing your polishing experience with us!
Absolutely and outstanding job! In fact I purchased the CabKing 8 inch machine. I haven’t even uncreated it yet as I have been Elk hunting. Rather than buying a trim saw for a thousand dollars I bought the 8 inch trim saw attachment. The CabKing is really a all in one unit for guys like me just starting in the hobby!
Yup, you have to watch the edges on those hard wheels. It gouges stone and cuts flesh. You have a beautiful final product. Super shiney! Keep the goodness coming! Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
Hey Taylor, that was awesome! The CabKing is the shizznit! One day I’ll find a fellow in the craft who’s upgrading and needs me to pickup their old grinder. Meanwhile, you did a fantastic job on that rock!
How lucky to find this beautiful agate in a box of free rocks! I would love to find something like that. You did a wonderful job polishing it and all the bands showed up great! If I ever find anything like this I'll be sending it to you to polish! 😉
You mentioned the final polish done either wet or dry. I once took a course in lapidary, back in about 1970 or so. And my instructor said to polish dry, because that produces heat..which actually rearranges the molecules. Which creates the polish.
Hey and agate dad, I love your lapidary work the final product is always very pretty. I live about 5 hours from Lake Superior and I only go there once a year. I'm a huge fan and I was wondering if we could meet up and you could give me some tips. I'm 14 and rockhounding is definitely my absolute favorite hobby!!!
Hi Bro, I have good Time watching tour vies. !!! Thanks You for this Sure Stone,s People working toward thé same.enlLightment Agathes are so commun hère in thé South of Brasil Trough your video I get aware of their innner beauty and their outside value Bless de
Out of curiosity, do you think the edge of your wheel made the gouges because you use the outside of the wheel less and it’s a bit rougher? Or just the edge itself dug in? I only ask because I noticed that my 100 grit disk on the flatlap has a section on the outside of the lap that is just so much rougher due to me using the center of the disk most. It’s kinda nice. I just move to that outside spot to really chew through the rougher areas. Lol.
Why can't we find free rocks like that. I just got back from hunting yooperlites and found two that were red not orange. Have you heard of red yooperlites or do I have a new rock.
