This is absolutely beautiful! Only thing I would change is the subwoofers. It's great that it's a fully integrated module, but the subwoofer performance of only 25hz seems lackluster for an endgame system. I would have kept the same LCR's, but maybe integrate dual JTR RS2's which in Youthman's theater provide flat response down to 5 Hz.
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage Год назад
Not everyone needs or wants subs that go that low. I’m totally in the camp of not necessary. What are you actually hearing that low? Krix subs are clean, tight and deep. If you heard the system you may change your mind on that. :)

How'd you like the NP5? And was it bright enough for the room? That's one of my concerns with its 1900 lumen brightness if the image would be dim. I'm debating between that and the LS12000. I know the Epson is brighter but from what I hear is that the NP5 is the better projector.

NP5 is plenty bright for the room. It's on my short list of upgrades but may not work due to throw distance - I tested the LS12000 in my room, it didnt feel as big of an upgrade as I would have hoped over my 6040UB. I love it when I see GIK panels in a beautiful and very expensive home theater. It's makes me realise I may be poor but I'm not stupid. I wonder if they paid 3-5 grand for the rear diffuser? Looks like free offcuts, some glue and rattle can paint job. That's like nearly 25 bucks!
@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage Год назад
Not sure GIK sell in Australia. Vicoustic make great panels. I have some as well in my own room vs the DIY ones I had before made a huge difference.
@C--A
@C--A Год назад
@handroids1981 it's a Vicoustic Multifuser made out of hard expanded polystyrene, definitely not 3-5 grand! it costs £299 for a box of 4 Vicoustic Multifuser here in the UK. Probably a similar price over in Oz. You can buy similar more expensive diffusers made of wood. Personally I prefer the look of wooden diffusers compared to polystyrene diffusers. Performance is better too. Price of wood is high these days, plus it's not a case of just sticking wooden offcuts together. Every piece has to be precisely cut and fitted to perfectly match the computer mathematical model. Very labour intensive, way more than a 25 bucks knock job!

Yes, this is correct. I’ve had a chat with Andrew about this when I was up there. We had a look there are issues with placement due to a set of windows on the left wall. We all make compromises. Either way the room sounds fantastic and calibration helps a lot.
@belykhdm
@belykhdm Месяц назад
I didn’t see the soundproofing of the room in the price list. Sound insulation usually has a positive effect on the bass, which means the system cannot be turned on to reference sound pressure levels! Most likely, without sound insulation at the reference volume level, the system will not be comfortable to listen to. and do you know the difference between the Dolby Surround system and the Dolby Atmos system? but by the fact that in all Dolby Atmos cinemas there are not 2 subwoofers, but 4

My small theatre
@C--A
@C--A Год назад
followmee8860 nicely done small budget friendly home theater 🎬 Though you would improve it further without any cost by simply moving the sofa forward - to 1/3 the room length from the back wall. This will eliminate some of the room modes, plus the bass overload that you get with the seating against the back wall. And by lowering the screen as it's currently placed too high. These 2 simple steps won't cost you anything and will improve the audio visual experience. Further down the line if funds become available you could invest in acoustic room treatment absorption and diffusion panels. This will take your room to the next level!

@BuildMontage
@BuildMontage Год назад
Those speakers have 15 degree angle and sweep downward. I experienced the room, and have experienced many rooms and positional sound was excellent. While I know things are not textbook perfect, (I had a discussion about front wides with the owner) the intention of these videos is not to educate, but rather share the room owners passion and create some enthusiasm around this hobby and niche.
@HulkCinema

@@BuildMontage I appreciate that and wasn't bashing the room. I was only highlighting areas where it could perform much better if corrected. Regardless of the 15 degree angle and how good they sound, if corrected they will sound alot better without any doubt. @@HulkCinema the truth is, and Andrew will vouch for this, I did have a discussion with him about placement of speakers, including the front wide position being so far back, when I make tour videos, I’m there to spread the love and enthusiasm and room owners passion - as you know home cinema is a very small niche on RU-vid - so my job with these videos isn’t to point out the negatives but to highlight the positives. Overall, this room is an incredible room, it sounds and looks fantastic. You can imagine how nervous the owner is showing his room to the internet, it takes a lot of courage to put it all out there. And when all the friends, family have watched a movie or listened to music, the majority of these dedicated rooms are used only a handful of times if at all. They are an excellent way of deterring prospective buyers when/if the homeowner wishes to sell the property. 😁😁

I agree in most cases but this home is not a regular home. The cinema room matches the rest of the house and from what Andrew tells me, it gets a tonne of use, parties and friends etc… in my house, I would agree it’s likely not an asset.

@@marcalvarado1915 You will find in the online forums a lot of the dedicated home cinema's end up getting mostly used by the guy who built it (not all cases of course) Most women and kids simply aren't into the home cinema hobby. Kids these days would rather be on their phones or gaming etc lol. Kids just watch a movie/tv show in their bedroom streaming on Netflix from the tv. Home Cinema/Theater is a niche hobby, never ever going to be the norm for most people.

10k for those blankets, 7k for curtains.... You see the price and still go ahead and purchase them. Money is no concern at all. That just amazes me that people have that kind of mentality. Once I get through all the equipment and have it built for that cost, I'm getting blankets from Amazon as well as the curtains for no more than a couple hundred. I tend to lose some respect for ppl that make those kind of purchases all for show. They are completely unnecessary but you are still willing to throw that much money into it. Nope

Wow I’m would have to agree with Tony’s comments how about you change your mindset and think about how you can make more money rather than being concerned with how much the equipment costs ??? You can afford anything you want when you earn enough if that’s what you want of course stop being critical of other peoples decisions and think about how you can get to that place .,, thank you

@@BuildMontage I completely agree with you. If there is something you like and get enjoyment from then you do it. I was just saying I perhaps would not spend it one something like a branded blanket. Unless there is a real difference or product improvement from a clothing brand other than it having a label on it, I steer clear. My sister used to work in clothing / fabrics and would get products manufactured in India, so I kinda understand where and how such products are made.

Here We Have Again Another Perfect Example Of A Generic Template For A Plain Jane Home Theater. This Owner Used What We Call A DEAD HUNG SCREEN. Meaning That It Is IN View 24/7. The Room Is Still The SAME ROOM WITH NO AUTOMATION Other Than Your Typical Lighting Accents. Now My ROOMMATE Went Way Beyond YOUR DESIGN & ADDED OUR SPEACIAL BONUS That NO OTHER HOME THEATER OUT THERE HAS. AND THAT IS OUR ADDED SMART STAGE! YES I SAID A STAGE A COMPLETELY FUNCTIONING STAGE THAT LITERATLY TRANSFORMS Upon Command Of Your MCT= Master Control Tablet. Simply Tap On 1 Of 100 Different Pre Programed Modes & Sit Back & Watch In Amazement As The ENTIRE STAGE Begins To Open Up & Set It's Self Up For What You Selected All With Custom Made Soundtrack By My Roommate. A Accomplished Keyboardist & Pipe Organist. Whom Composed, Arranged & Recorded ALL Of Our Mode Accompiament. So Ya I Say WE HAVE THE ULTIMATE HOME THEATER. We Are Currently Purchasing A 2 Level Shed & Making It Our OWN THEATER With A 2nd STORY BALCONY With Our STAGE BUILT INTO IT.
