I just turned 73 a couple days ago. I would never let anyone cut my hair like that.😢 Its awful! She has a lovely smile and you took her longer hair, which covered a number of thinning areas, and made them all noticeable. They weren't before. She will won't be able to use that tiny curling iron herself. And some bangs to help soften her look. You put about 10 years on her. What a shame.
That's probably the worst part of this : the thinning areas that are now so visible and noticeable ! When they were not. Had her hair been normal length they would not be seen..... poor old lady.... that is the worst part of hair when you are old.... (I'm 78).
Her hair looks so healthy and shiny now!!! However, I would like to ask why older women are all given this same severe cut and set? A little longer is much more feminine and takes years off. This cut is too manly for a beautiful woman like her 💗
1st. You should have washed her hair for her. Next you tapered the right more than the left. Then after curling her hair you come all the curl and wave out of it you wouldn't stop combing. Finally it was much too severe and too short. She won't be able to fix her hair at home. You should have given her some style she could do on her own to a point. She was such a pleasant client. I hope you have time to think about it more next time.
Acabou com o cabelo de uma elegante e bela senhora! Se ela tivesse ido a uma barbearia talvez até saísse com um corte mais feminino. Depois que lavar ficará sempre com esse corte de velha.
@@signaturesalon_tn The bald patch above her right eye should have ben covered ("hidden" ). Also, if she asked for this short cut (maybe because her hair was way too long and had started to irritate her) the hairdresser should have given a hairdo that was rather short, but not THIS short. So that the client could have realised that rather short was more than short enough ! There is such a thing as helping the client to understand that it is better to go halfway, and then, if needed, she could always have it done shorter next time ! It takes a bit of thinking to serve and help a client well !!!!
I am 70 and I love this style. I call it the Jamie Lee Curtis cut. I started getting my hair cut in this style and have so many compliments on it, even from men, that I will never grow it out again. It’s cute and spicy and it doesn’t make me look like my grandma.
I feel this sweet lady would look prettier with longer hair and some bangs to soften her forehead!! I agree this lady is not going to use a curling iron on her hair, it's way to short#!!!
I agree with majority, that is not flattering, too masculine and impossible to maintain. It highlights the thinning of forehead hairline. .Bangs and a longer layered tusseled cut would have been appropriate. I'm not a stylist. Karen L.
Granny was so exited. I wish her many many more years to gift the world with that beautiful smile. I also wish next time she’ll go elsewhere for a cut.
I thought the Lady was his Mother said so at the beginning I am sure...Thought he was going to color it and add streaks and lighter around the front...It didn't look any different..
Who ever cut this poor lady’s hair did not consider she most likely won’t be able to do herself. It was way to short and should have a soft side sweep or feathered bangs to soften her features. I’m retired stylist, would not have made cut so severe ! Did she ask to have it so short.?
Why do these stylists always want to make older women look like old men? This woman had great hair for her age! All she needed was a good trim for the ends, then maybe a perm to curl it! Done! And you know darn well she will not be able to do those short TIGHT curls on top with a curling iron! Ridiculous!😮
How cruel and shameful, a rogue hairdresser. The lady had a good head of hair to start with and a qualified hairdresser would have cut and styled her hair so she could wash it and let it dry naturally in style. 0/10
Hello.... I'm 79 years old. During the Pandemic, walk-in salons requested appointments. After three times of doing that, I was over it. At the third appointment, and being asked how I wanted my hair cut, I said "Take it down to the skin." I refer to my new style as an Army recruit on the way to boot camp. I get compliments on my hair style. Back when Susan Powter came on the scene with her shaved head, I wanted that but it was not a good idea at the time. Now, I can do whatever I want.
Totally agree. She cut it just like an old man's. She needed some length and softness around her face. A simple Bob she wouldn't have to do anything to....
Although it looks beautiful, many hairdressers make the mistake of giving older people these hairstyles that they can't maintain. Is this to ensure that they always have to come back to you? Give them a style that's easy for them.
Unless this beautiful lady wanted a “no fuss” haircut I would say it was horrible. Why take all of the fullness of hair she still has at 95 and basically shave it off? Give her a style she can easily maintain and keep her curls and waves.
How in the world is that old lady going to make that man's cut look nice on her own? If the stylist can barely get a tiny curling iron in it, there is no way she will be able to get curlers in it!
I’d demand a refund and a great looking wig to wear while it grew out. That’s probably the worst haircut I have ever seen on someone in this age range. She looks like she had a sex change operation.
She came in with gorgeous thick steel gray hair, and a good length for some wonderful styling. She left looking like all the other old ladies with a severe cut that will only look passable if she has remarkable agility and ability with a curling iron. A bit of a missed opportunity imo, and given her age, the time needed for her to grow that out means probably no time for a do over😢 I suggest a Stylist Silver Hair Challenge that prohibits severe short hair (so no ‘pixie cuts’ ) but promotes Sexy stylish silver cuts and styles. Easy to maintain would get bonus points! There are a lot of us out there with silver, pewter, salt and pepper gray hair! We want to look beautiful as we age !
As a senior myself, this is not a style that works. To much fuss, not maintainable for most seniors. She's a lovely model, not such a good cut or style.
Had a cut / colour / blow dry this afternoon, I'm 78. Great hairdresser, gives me a lovely hairdo each time. Hair is thinning, but she manages to make it look fuller. No need for such a ridiculous, masculine hairdo !!!
I personally know this lady and that cut is what she ASKED for. She LOVES this cut. At her age she doesn't want to care for long hair. This is exactly what she wanted and she was beyond happy with it.
Why did you do that to her? Just because she’s older doesn’t mean she wants the standard granny cut! I’m old and really don’t have any hair to talk about but she had full beautiful grey, silver white hair! You could have done so much more…
I agree with the majority of the others who have commented on this change of hairstyle for this lovely woman. I'm 69 years old and I still wear my hair in a long style simply because I like it that way. I was never good with a curling iron...I always used hot rollers instead. I don't think every woman looks great in the bobbed hairstyles. Each to her own.
I'm 77 and each time I change hairdressers--you have to argue with the stylist so they don't go on auto and butcher your hair!! It doesn't matter the price 😕😐
Quite frankly I would not let that hairdresser anywhere near my hair, or even my dog! She had no idea how to style that ladies hair. A much gentler, softer haircut would have looked so much nicer. She certainly did not need this hacked style.
Unless this lady specifically asked for that short hair cut i don't know why hair stylists automatically cut older lady's hair in a man style. Im never going short and im almost 67.
I’m 67 as well and I think the same thing!!! How is this precious lady going to curl her hair when it’s so short. My white hair is shoulder length and is very easy to take care of. I think she will miss her hair and let it grow back with the layers. She is so sweet! I wish I was her friend🥰
Seriously? Y'all have the wrong idea about short hair! This is a wash & go cut. She won't worry about the fancy stuff unless she's going to a great grandchild's wedding. It's great - it's easy - it's just what she needed to brighten up her life. I hope she keeps it like this forever. Old ladies with long hair look like old ladies! This is fun! I LOVE IT!🎉
I thought her longer hair was just lovely. Not so long as to require any extensive care. Long enough to be put into a very easy ponytail or up in a clip for a dressier look. (IMHO) Nothing about this chopped off cut, gives her options. To me it says, I surrender ! If it’s exactly what she requested, then right on !
I imagine poor elderly ladies head is tender with all the combing backwards then forwards and snip snip snip. Felt very frustrated watching this hairdresser UGH !!!
That's not true. But whoever is doing this, is not a professional hair designer. No one would start cutting with semi dry hair, and it was si crooked. I never cut that bad when I was in grade school. I'm a retired international Hair Designer, platform artist, color technology designer, and salon trouble shooter. I'm sure this person is trying to make more doing videos.
I don't know where the salon is but will definitely give any"Signature Salons" a hard pass. She's 95 this cut won't grow out before she dies. Or is too old to care.
That's a rude comment to make. Who knows, she may live to be 120 yrs old. No one knows, but I hope she can enjoy many more returns to the salon for a haircut.
Great comment Debby ! No doubt this 90 yo woman isn't aware that her expiration date is getting close. Sounds even better to live to 120 yo & out live every single person including her children she's ever loved. And the best part would be when they put her in a nursing home. Great times in the nursing home no doubt.
How is this woman going to be able to maintain this severely short style on a daily basis? Is the "stylist" showing up everyday with her curling iron? Had my hair cut down way too short twice by two different salons at a ridiculously expensive price and haven't gone near a salon since. Not impressed😢😱🤬
I'm 76 and i would hate this Nana curls style.I have highlights and lowlights and" past the chin" length. It's instantly dating to have hair that short and all swept back off the face.,
I wouldn’t worry about dating me at 95, but she got a drastic change from flowing locks to a man style. That would make me very unhappy. Easy care maybe, but her hair was really in wonderful condition for a 95 year old. I must say she doesn’t look unhappy, but I would be.
Like the poor women is going to curl her hair everyday. It is going to be flat and everyone will thinks is a man. This is so sad, that is why I stay away from hair dressers...they just have to cut, cutaneous cut some more. That way you have to keep going back .
No proper sectioning, and lots of bevelling going on. Also I've never ever seen a whole Haircut cut using wide Teeth of Comb like that. There's no proper tension using comb like this😢😮
This is a nightmare cut! It has no style. Give this lovely lady some respect. I hope she can grow it out and find a real hairstylist before she passes. This is sooo sad.
When she cut the back she cut it to flip up and just chopped at it. Needs practice. I would have like to see it left long maybe some layering with some soft sides
I am a retired, 75 year old hairdresser and can still do my hair. Be careful, if you are blessed to live until 95, you will want the easiest, neatest haircut possible. Everyone commenting can obviously still do their own hair.😊
Fringe? Should hv kept that longer so that it curls over forehead. Also slight side parting for interest. A bit of powder, lippy and pearl earrings...very smart. Long hair unless in a bob just under ears more flattering and elegant. Longer...untidy.
terrible cut...and at 95 how on earth is this lovely lady supposed to style it. lm 66 n would hate to have a cut where the old heated iron had to be used.
I think that this is a nice haircut but maybe a little too short/severe and I think bangs or longer in the front and combed down would look better on this lady ❤
Wow.. don't y'all be so negative can't you see how big that lady is smiling. She living in the moment and she loves her hair. All she has to do is put some mouse in it and she looks and feels great. I thought it was awesome. I almost cried it's the little moments like that, that make your whole year. Maybe next week that lady will get a perm problem solved.
😢 SIN PALABRA PARECE HOMBRE ASÍ LA DEJÓ EL ESTILISTA YO TENGO 80 AÑOS Y SOY MUY FEMENINA TRAIGO UN CORTE SUPERBONITO ME PINTÓ EL PELO Y CREEN QUE TENGO 65 AÑOS YO NUNCA IRÍA CON ESA ESTILISTA
I am 73 and just cut my hair into a short pixie for easier maintenance because of my back, but this lady will never be able to do all that to maintain that style!
An elegant bob with a half fringe on this beautiful lady would have looked so feminine this lady is never going to use curling tong Change of hairdresser is in order.
I'm happy that's she's so happy about her new hair! I'm sure that having some care and kindness made her feel so special. Love her smile and pretty glow!
