Are you too old for long hair? Mary didn't like her long hair. In fact, she wanted it short.
She came to Makeoverguy for her Power of Pretty Transformation Experience and got the makeover of a lifetime.
It wasn't just the long hair that dragged her down. She has a pear-shaped body with narrow shoulders. Leggings do not work with this body type, no matter what anyone would wear on the top.
She has deep-set eyes that are asymmetrical. She has a proportionately small mouth and a stronger nose that she would consider ideal. With the help of the "MAKEOVERGUY" team, all was set in balance.

There's no 'cut off' age for long hair. If you look in the mirror and don't like how your long hair looks, then it's up to you and no-one else if you want to change it.

@@sonnenschein3613 ...How is that not true? It's my decision, and nobody else's, what I do with my hair. No woman is required to cut their hair short just because they get older. If a woman wants to keep her hair long, she has every right to do so. And if she has long hair and wants to cut it short, that is her right, too, and it's nobody else's business if she does. Other people don't have to wear, brush, or maintain the longer hair they say they love so much on us women that want to cut our longer hair short, for whatever reason we choose to do so. So in my opinion, you're incorrect in your comment. It IS true, that any woman can do whatever she wants with HER own hair, at ANY age, regardless of what anyone else says or thinks. If they don't like it, then tough cookies.

Do not cut your hair just because "the world" says you have to look a certain way. Do it only because it is what YOU want. The world has no right to say whether you are beautiful or not. Only you have that right.

True, you change only when you are ready. But, try not to be stuck in your ways. One of the hallmarks of youthfulness is being flexible and trying new things. Otherwise, how do you learn about yourself. The lady in this video looked just fine with her long hair, but she clearly wasn’t happy with her looks - and didn’t really know why. Her new look is AMAZING. If you don’t open yourself up for change, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten! 😂 I love me a good makeover…

No one is ever 'too old' to wear long hair down, and she would have looked as amazing in the after shot with the same clothes, makeup, and straightened trimmed hair with lift at the roots. Enough of this 'women are too old to do this now' rubbish, it weaves ageism into the mindsets of many and strengthens it. This isn't to detract from the work you have done here by the way, it is ace. I just feel it is time to flip the script regarding aging and people's perception of it. Are you in your 40's, 50's 60's and beyond and want to wear your long hair down? Go for it, and you will look mighty fine too.

Her hair was so beautiful. There was no need to cut it off. I hate the stigma of cutting your hair short because your 50 mine long and always will be. She could of got her hair done in a curtain long bang style that you can put up without just giving up on her long hair. Even though she was happy and pulled the look off beautifly. I could not cut my hair off.

I'm 72 and my hair is white blonde grey not silver, it is almost to my waist...I get lots of compliments on it , people say I don't look my age. I have had all lengths of hair and I find that long hair is easier to handle......you can always find a style in a hurry😅

I actually thought she was already quite beautiful, and just as beautiful after the makeover. The biggest difference, honestly, was how she felt about it. Beauty is only skin deep, and she was already gorgeous on the surface. However, seeing her absolutely glowing with confidence was what took her to the next level. It just proves, the way you feel about yourself really does show. I'm so glad she can feel as beautiful as she really is.

As an Indigenous American woman, I will have long hair til the day I die. This woman didn't know how to take care of long hair. It's easier and cheaper than having short, styled hair. I never use a brush after a shower, only wide tooth detangling comb.

I suspect she felt like Thing (AdamsFamily) and people only saw her hair not her. It's the same with women who have a good bosom - people look only at the chest. It must be really dispiriting. Nevertheless, the majority of women of a certain age seem to be ignored as a matter of common practice. I think it's why they get a bit bolshy - the stage after "woman of a certain age" = "Careful, be cautious around Her".

If she had her makeup done like that when she had her long hair she would have been even more beautiful and looked even younger. Notice how the makeup fixed her jaw line area to appear more youthful. Long hair is a gift. Cut it shorter if you want, but don’t play like that. Your trying to add to much emphasis on the hair when in reality it was the makeup that mattered most in this video as both sets of hair can be pretty. She’s pretty without makeup but for a younger look it was the makeup-definitely not the hairstyle. You’re never to old to have long hair- it’s a GIFT FROM THE MOST HIGH. Especially if you’re fortunate enough to have longer length hair as an older woman embrace it if you want. It don’t have to go that short to be beautiful.

Looks to me like she was given highlights and a lilac colour wash. It does brighten the white and makes the gray more steely - and "bonus" less aging.

My grandmother had long hair for her entire 94+ years. Age is also an attitude, and it also depends on your tolerance. Not everyone needs short hair as they age. She looks amazing with both long and short hair. Her long hair just needed styling, and she just needed a stylist and makeup.

After having a pixie cut my ENTIRE life at 65 I decided to try and grow it out. Imagine my surprise that it got to my waist. At 68 I love my long hair. Happily no one else gets a vote on my hair. I wish I could ask my Mom why she always cut it. 🤔 Then I thought it wouldn’t get very long anyway so I kept it short. Only good thing that came out of the pandemic 🤣

I agree - no one is ever too old for long hair! My mum is 74 and has long white hair, which is so beautiful! But what's important is, that you feel happy about yourself and your hair. The lady in the video needed the transformation to feel beautiful, so for her that was the right dicision.

I have hair to my waist. I'm 34 (but I enjoy this channel) and people have already started telling me that I'm getting "too old" to have long hair, and when I'm 40, it's time to cut it. There is no such thing as too old. It doesn't matter if a person is 100. I hate that age restrictions are put on personal style and preference for women. A woman's unique sense of style is what contributes to her beauty.

I have thigh length hair and only use a small dime size drop of gentle shampoo, I massage it into the roots and let it run down the length as I rinse. I do the opposite with conditioner, start at the ends. Do you use other products that you need to wash out?

Probably half a century of wearing and dealing with that long thick hair, she deserves the change she wants just because she wants it. Sometimes long hair wears YOU and becomes your identity, and whose decision should THAT be? Her husband? "MEN"? This makeover was so obviously the right thing for her.

You are never “too old” to wear your hair as long as you want or however you want. See I have this thing where IDGAF how others think I should dress or wear my hair…. I do what I do and that’s that.

The short hair style is an amazing improvement over her extremely long straight hair. Her new hairstyle makes her look decades younger and much prettier. The make-up I can seen is also an improvement. The more flattering pants outfit also makes her look better & younger. Proof that short hair does not have to be an old lady hairstyle. You can have a flattering short hairstyle when you are old.

I would love to see someone show us how to style our long hair to look good, instead of always cutting it. Why do older women always have to cut their hair? But nevertheless she looks beautiful now!

I'm 54 and have absolutely no intention of having less than shoulder length hair ever. Even my sons have long hair. One of my grandson's is frequently mistaken for a girl.

Tbf she didn't look 68 with long hair it was just too long and dragging her features down. I'm glad they kept her colour because it still looks good. You don't always need to cover grey hair

She looks fantastic. The problem wasn't her long hair, but the fact she needed to have it shaped and styled, not necessarily chopped off completely. The makeup and style change made a big difference as well. You needed to cut the tags off the new clothes and give them to her as a thank you for being in your video.

Ikr? Me too. Yeah if I let it down I looks like Morticia Addams but if you style long hair right you can look good and even younger. I get complements on my hair all the time.😊

Wow you look FANTASTIC! I am 58 and still wearing the same long, dry, dyed blonde hair as I in the 70’s! But I have been wanting to make a dramatic change lately. But I have been afraid that I would hate it! I now want to RUN to a good salon in the morning and make that change! Thank You for showing me your beauty and bravery ❤

You don’t have to cut all your hair off. Just layer front & sides. I love my long hair. I have front tapered and I can still wear it up, braid it and have tapered around the front. She also looks good with makeup to enhance her eyes.

I think it’s so sad she didn’t feel beautiful before. She’s so pretty and had amazing hair, she just needed a new style to it. I think she could have kept it longer but she looked beautiful with the short hair also.

You are never too old for long hair. You can have long hair if you want it. if you want short hair, you can cut it. no big deal. to each their own. It looks cute on her short.

You're only too old for long hair when you choose to be. I'm also 68 with long, straight hair, BUT I color it, have long bangs, and either pin back the upper section in a hair clip or, when I'm working with my horses, tie it all back. I for sure do not look "old," and am certainly not too old for long hair. To each her own!
