Hey friends-I just caught an error. I’m not sure which ingredient deck to reference so I have an email in to find out.....the ingredient deck for the polyglutamic acid is different between Sephora, Cult Beauty and Incidecoder. Their placement of the polyglutamic acid is different 🤔 I’ll report back (if anyone cares) because of course now I need to know!! Just wanted to share ❤️ XO Penn
Appreciate the information that you provide and your fantastic content on your RU-vid channel. Look forward to your affiliate links and also blog able to access the Facebook community from my mobile device. Hope that you feel better soon and I am sorry that happened while you were in Hawaii if the flu had to happen at all. Thank you for all of your time, knowledge and advice.
Wow, Penny! I am blown away by the thoroughness of your research and the lengths to which you go to dig into ingredients and their efficacy and scouting out and comparing more affordable options for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you sooo much Penny your knowledge is so appreciated I’ve spent so much money on crap and I feel so blessed to have found you - I now not only get great products for the fraction of the price but actually understand exactly what and where and why I’m using products- by far these are my very very favorite videos-Can’t thank you enough........! Have a beautiful blessed weekend Julie-🕊
Hello Penny, I found you when making a research on microneedling at home just about a week ago. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your review of different pens, step by step protocol and care really helped to get through my very first at home needling session just last night!!! I did microneedling at the salon for the last few years but making an appointment that works for me, and cost of $300 per session made me look for an alternative. With your help I did my very first session myself night and so pleased how it went. I know that results will really start showing only on few weeks and even rather in few more sessions but I know I did right and had all the necessary equipment with me! I really appreciate that you are sharing your knowledge with us. It is amazing that in just 15 minutes it is possible to learn that took you years of studying and many hours of keeping up with the current changes in the industry. Sorry for the long message. Just want to tell you a huge thank you for inspiring us and helping us to be beautiful and confident! 🥰😘🙏
Правда Жизни I purchased my micro needling roller. I’ve not tried it yet. I’ve purchased my bf one as well the minute I explained that it has tiny needles which puncture the top layer he was like oh no you can just forget that. I explained it is not going to rip up his face. However now I know why we women have the babies. I thought it was too cute wanted to share my story. Because each time I purchase a product he is like a little kid. What did you get. He is into skincare for that I am grateful because a lot of men are not so they say hurtful things. Even when you explain that movie stars don’t just roll outta bed looking like they do when you see them in movies or TV. It takes work especially as we get older. I just love this channel also Penny she’s beautiful and gives us a lot of great info.So thank you Dear Penny I appreciate you bunches. ❤️❤️
Правда Жизни totally agree! Looking forward to starting this process at home! Will you share which pen you decided to go with? I’m leaning toward the A7. Thank you so much!
ysl1good Hello ! I got A6. Cannot complain. I like that there’s no cord. Though my girlfriend got A7 and happy as well. I used it 3 times already. It works well. I cannot tell the difference from doing it myself or going to the office. When you go to the office it depends who you get. I had fantastic girl who hit every area of my face. Once I went to another lady and she was horrible! I felt like nothing happened and she was done in 10 minutes. No results. One thing I want to do is order stronger numbing cream. I cannot tolerate pain well. I think I could go deeper but need help with pain:)
I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love this series that you started and I look forward to it every week! Your channel is just so amazing and I truly love watching your videos and learning from your vast knowledge of ingredients and skin care!
PENN.SMITH.SKINCARE LLC can you please do research on Skin Actives? One of your followers recommended this brand on one of my replies to you. Bought the eye cream and the Vitamin C 20%. On the Vit C it says use it few times a week but I’ve been using it daily. I love the eye cream but not sure on the validity of the claims. Not much reviews online other than on their own site.
I am new, and so glad I found Penny and these videos. I have been binge watching trying to catch up and just soaking up so much fantastic information. Penny, you are so different. Warm, smart, helpful, gorgeous and so human. I love your style. If that doesn't make sense it's my observation, after watching so many others and not subscribing or unsubscribing after watching several, that you are unique. I know I'm probably not in your demographic or target age group because I'm 63 but I love skin care, microneedling and learning about new products and you are so informative. It's just watching videos but I feel welcome, wanted and the way you present yourself and teach it doesn't feel like I'm out of place.
Vivi that literally just made my day! Yes you ARE my demographic! We are in this together I tell you! Thank you for the nicest comment I’ve gotten in a long time! 💜💜💜
I absolutely love this series! I've been using the Inkey List PGA serum for a few weeks & I love it! Very hydrating & leaves my skin feeling velvety soft. Quite a few of the Inkey List products have blown me away but my absolute favorite (besides the retinol serum, which is bomb.com) is the Ceramide Night Treatment ($14.99 @ Sephora). I was thinking about ordering the Ceramide serum from Kate Sommerville, which I'd heard was incredible, but I wasn't feeling the $96 price tag. I found the Inkey List Ceramide Night Treatment when I went to reorder the retinol & I'm so happy that I did bc it's been like manna from heaven! I use it as a sleeping mask ... I apply it as the last product before going to bed & it dries down completely, sealing everything in without any stickiness. I wake up to plump, hydrated skin. No dryness, no creasing, & no fine lines! & I love that it's in an airless container with a pump!
I don't speak English, so I appreciate that youtube has the option to caption the videos in the language you want. I love your channel. It's been several days since I signed up watching your videos. I love this new series. Greetings from Spain. (If there are errors in what I write apology, I am using the google translator)
I am so glad you’re here! I’m also so thankful that the subtitles help you! Yo hablo un poco de espanol ❤️ Estudie espanol en la escuela durante 7 anos pero necesito mucha practica!! Gracias por estar aqui! 😊😊😊
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you very much for answering. I'm 53 years old and I've always loved facial care. Thanks to you I'm learning a lot about cosmetic ingredients. I wish I spoke as good English as you do Spanish even though I'm learning. Since I still have a lot of videos of yours to watch, you may have already posted it, but I'd like you to do one explaining your current day and night facial care routine. Best regards.
Thanks for this comparison. I really appreciate your videos, your very detailed descriptions and the thoughtful options you recommend. I just scoured Laila's site (after having done my ML homework long ago). I'm a HUGE ML fan and I think it's worth mentioning that it's not only the unique and (IMHO) incomparable formulas that ML creates but also the impeccable ingredient sourcing she does (throughout the globe) that makes her products so special. I'm a research fanatic and May's full transparency, pursuit of the finest, freshest, organic, ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients must be very costly. My blue cocoons last me 9-10 months. I'm always on a budget and totally get cutting corners -- but there is something to be said about uncompromising excellence.
Love the new Facebook group. I have invited a few of my esty friends as well as my coworker (she is a physicians assistant) to contribute as well. Love your channel. Hope your vacation was amazing.
I thoroughly enjoy these types of videos! Although I value great skincare, I would never lay that much money out for a product. I appreciate your alternative suggestions. 😊
❤️❤️ LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!! Penny - you happen to be one of the “Greats,” here on RU-vid! Thank you for all the time you spend creating these videos for us, I don’t know how you do it with a career and children. But thank you so much I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. You have helped me tremendously. Please keep making videos because you have a huge fan base that loves them and loves you!❤️❤️
I am listing the info from the description box below for anyone who has trouble finding it ❤ Amazon US: www.amazon.com/shop/penn.smith.skincare Amazon UK: www.amazon.co.uk/shop/penn.smith.skincare Penn Smith Skincare participates in the Amazon Associates Program. This is an affiliate program and all Amazon links are affiliate. If you choose to use them I will receive a commission. PLEASE NOTE! Some of these products contain essential oils. I am aware of the photo-toxicity of orange peel oil (especially bergamot) but I was taking requested products and finding alternatives for them. Unfortunately the alternatives contain the same problematic ingredients as their more expensive options. ALSO! There is plenty of debate about whether or not EGF even works! I am a believer so I am going with my personal opinion. If you think it is rubbish, I get it. If you have had skin cancer growth factors are NOT for you. Please take that in to consideration when buying any product with any kind of GF! There is controversy over whether TNS is inflammatory or not, containing TGF-b1(stem cell derived cytokine)...This video wasn't the time to dive down that rabbit hole but I will go in to that in another video! If you are looking for an anti-inflammatory "growth factor" (again, stem cell derived cytokine) I can recommend AnteAge with their TGFb-3 anti-inflammatory products. Find them at AnteAge.com. So excited for the growth factor!! My mouth is open. Ordering. The 2nd one looks good too! 🤔 oh wow’ the Ha5! The balm that melts into an oil sounds amazing!! Girl you’re so good. Literally overhauling my skincare! Love you muffin!!!🤗🤗🤗
Yassss, it's wonderful knowing there are fantastic alternatives out there. My theory is that high end brands charge extra just for the label. There doesn't appear to be any other good reason 🤷♀️ Thank you Penn, you're an absolute star. 🌟🌟🌟
Yep! It’s marketing!! There is research and development for sure with some high end products (of course) but then there are some that are just charging those high price tags bc of their name. We just have to be smart consumers! ❤️
@@danabrown3476 Oh my, there's do many out there Dana. I will say, the one I'm using now, and thoroughly enjoying, is from Beauty Pie. It's called "YouthBomb", it has excellent ingredients and the texture is sublime. Incidentally, there's a serum (of the same name) that is equally as good, if bought together they offer even more savings. Hope this is useful, xxx
@@chrissymoss514 thank you so much for the recommendation! I truly appreciate you’re reply. 🙏🏻. Has Penny recommended this as well? (I think that’s her name.) 😬
You can buy the Blue Tansy Oil from a reputable essential oil provider, like New Directions Aromatics. Looking at the usage rates that are regulated in most countries, the amount of essential oil that is allowed to be in a pot like that costs less than 5 USD. The May Lindstrom product price is obscene. I'm not saying you could easily duplicate this product but the star ingredient is not as expensive as they make it out to be. Love this series Penny, thanks so much.
I am learning so much from you! I just want to truly thank you for your research, care and time - I can only imagine the amount of time that goes into making one of these videos. We are all blessed to have you on yt!
I very much enjoy this series. Thank you for all the great videos and affordable alternatives. Reviv Serum’s Ultimate Serum is also supposed to be a dupe for the SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum. Their proprietary blend of Human Stem Cell Conditioned Media is called RevivFibroMedia and is the first ingredient in the new formula. The brand is cruelty free. This product is also fragrance free. The Ultimate Serum is $99 for 1.69 fl oz. The product webpage includes a comparison with the TNS Essential Serum. I’m interested in your thoughts on this product.
I’m a say I am really impressed by this video. I’ve seen your photo in the RU-vid homepage and this is the first time I clicked on( and immediately subscribed) and I must say the level of detail and knowledge it’s just what I’m looking for. I have been skin and makeup obsessed since my teens. I’m 74 now and have always been a beauty and make up aficionado. I love it with a passion, however getting to 74 but wanting to look 35 even though I know it’s impossible is still some thing a research. I love the videos where skincare, skin devices, anything that might, I repeat might help me achieve less lines and wrinkles and a bit of clarity in my skin is just what I’m looking for. There are endless RU-vidrs doing make up reviews, however without good skin no makeup looks good. Your level of detail is very interesting it gives me more food for thought and hopefully some products that will help me on the road to achieving not looking 35 🤦🏼♀️however looking the best I can
Penni you are AMAZING. I want to save every video you do. Your info is incredible!!! Thankyou for helping my skin my budget and my choices. You are my favorite. Love you!!!!!!
Penny seriously you are a (hidden) gem. I can’t thank you enough for delving deep into the science of ingredient decks to sort out the wheat from the chaff for us. From the bottom of my heart and change purse I thank you for this series. When you said the price of “medical grade” products comparatively could be a laser treatment .. I saw the sun, the moon, and the stars in your wisdom. 🌞🌝💫. Thank you, thank you, thank you !! 😘
You should write a book I never come across someone so knowledgeable other than a dermatologist but you are particle and showing alternative which I love Thank you Love from London
Absolutely loving this series and especially love all of the detail that goes into each product and ingredient. Thank Penn for making us better informed consumers 🥰 Have a beautiful week 💜💜💜 Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
You recommended a product line before Christmas called Denenage, I purchased it the day your video came out and have been using it for about a month now. Thank you so so much! Of all the products I have ever used (I’m a bit of a junkie), this has given me the most visible results in the shortest amount of time. I am currently on accutane, which I’ve been told can help with acne scarring, but I think the defenage is responsible for more of the texture smoothing I’ve experienced. I had been on the accutane for about four months prior to starting the defenage and hadn’t noticed any scar improvement on its own. Once I incorporated the defenage, I started seeing positive changes very quickly. I’m really excited to stay on it to see what it can do long term. Thanks again, keep those rare gems coming!
My question is that the TNS which I use, gets the HFC from umbilical cords...human growth factors..which is why the skin"knows them" and responds to it... where do the AO ones come from..I would love to save some money on this!! AND I use the HA5..YIKES can't wait to save!!I will be joining the FB group..although I am in my 60's I have been on the skin care train interanlly and externally since age 19!! Erno Laszlo..Dr. Dennis Gross...Orentreich..BEFORE there was so much available to us through research and online...I am a holistic health coach so of course nutrition is the first step to great skin..I love your channel..You are one of only 2 I listen to!!Thank you for all you do!
I hope you do join the FB group! Your insight would be so valuable! I agree that healthy skin starts on the inside! I have an email in to AQ asking about how the bergamot oil is distilled (hoping they use bergamot oil that has the furanocoumarins removed)....I’ll send another email asking about their HFCM sources :)) When I find out I’ll add it to the description box! ❤️
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I'm hoping you can answer this quickly as well since I am ready to buy it!!!xo..The recovery serum, yes they recommend getting that for professional use only...I can get it but do you think that is too strong..it is their highest consintration of growth factors...you are very helpful..
THANK YOU for another OUTSTANDING video/tutorial! As always, I sincerely APPRECIATE all the time, research, knowledge & education you put into your videos! Invaluable, dependable, unbiased, helpful information! Hugs & Blessings 2U!
Penny, I’m so glad you’re feeling better. I got sick with type A flu Dec 14 even with a flu shot. I’m still sick. In your video you switched from saying flu to cold but everyone should be super careful. Wash hands all the time. Stay safe. If you get some kind of a cold etc. be extra careful.
Love your series! I'm learning so much and it is wonderful to hear of more affordable brands. I have bought some wonderful high end products that work really well, but it's getting harder to afford them. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for all these info I love you its blessing to have you gaving us all these break downs of different skin products and prices because some of us like me can only look at it from far but can't touch it because the price is so high. May God protect you, bless you and keep you safe and healthy. You are beautiful inside and out.
Thank yoo Penny. I follow from Israel and benefit your excellent sugesstions, buying online the best skin care I need and can afford. You are so informative and knowlegable, letting us be smart consumera. Thank you so much, at 55 I do my best to have a good basic skincare ruiteen.
I adore your channel Penny. I am a skincare junkie but skincare is a huge part of my business too. I am always on the hunt for new products with great ingredient decks for my customers. You are such a great teacher and have made my job so much easier. Thank you for sharing all that you do. Congrats and I wish you all the best. 💕
I can’t thank you enough for this review! I love SkinMedica HA5, but simply cannot stomach the huge price tag! I can’t wait to try Polyglutamic Acid Hydrating Serum.
I happened upon the polyglutamic acid serum kinda by accident, I’ve since repurchased it a few times. Has a very chemical smell, but hyaluronic acid sometimes makes my parched skin even drier. I really enjoy the product and the price can’t be beat. Love this series, looking forward to the next one!
I’m SO grateful that I found your channel! I really appreciate the time and effort that you put into your videos! You’re loaded with amazing knowledge! It’s hilarious that I live in Eugene and I found out about you on RU-vid lol! Cheers!💕
I love it. This came in right at the perfect time. I am on my last jar of my beloved ML Blue Cocoon. It is magical, soothing, sensor enlightening and oh so pricey! Will I pay the price? Yes of course as it stretches quite a bit however I am all about saving for a great alternative that does not rob me of the effects/affects I receive through my best skincare or anything for that matter. Just loving this series Penn thanks a bunch! Peace and love xo
Yay, thank you Penn! I have had Skin Medica's TSN in my cart for months now. I just couldn't pull the trigger on $281 again. I'm so excited to try the AQ Active Serum. I've been using the Osmosis Growth Factor Serum which has a much friendlier price tag! I really like it so far. Thanks again for all your hard work in researching these products.
Great information little Guru. I don't currently use any of these products, but, I'm impressed by their abilities. Thank you so much for your continued dedication to your research 💞 Love the FB addition.
Hi Penny, Good to see you back. I’m sorry you fell ill while away it’s always the way has to happen whilst you’re on holiday.. I’ve been using the polyglutamic acid for about a month now and absolutely love it 😍😍 so was really pleased to see it get a mention in this video. Love your videos and the fb group is fantastic 🥰🥰
Hi Penny you look fantastic as always, great video 👍 can you make a video on the inkey list skincare what you think is worth buying because it’s really affordable 😊
So glad you’re back but sorry you had to get the flu while on vacation. I’d be interested in your recommendation of a good eye cream/serum that can also be used on the eyelids. I have been using the Revision DEJ but don’t see a lot of improvement. Great video!
osmosis catalyst ac-11 is expensive but is a great serum can be used on eyelids to tighten and lift. check out Skinbeautiful RX for more info and she also sells it.
Great explanations on these products. It can still be overwhelming on how many products we need to buy. Would you, or have you done a video on affordable desert island products? Like if you could only have 5 products in the less expensive brands, what 5 items would you pick that address fine lines, aging, uneven skin tone, age spots and moisture?
LOVED this!!! Def going to try some of the alternatives.. I am a def lover of the TNS serum would love to try another option that’s more reasonably priced
Did you end up trying anything? I’m wanting to switch to something else also. I also wonder if the TNS serum has changed in the last year. I remember a much more potent smell which I actually liked, but many others did not. I’m guessing Skinmedica read those reviews. I noticed in the last product I opened the smell was gone. 🤔 That aside, I just don’t know if it works magic and should come close at the price.
Hey Penn!! I swear it seems like a long time. Glad you are back gurlll!! 😉😘 I think I have an even closer product to TNS Essential. It is RevivSerums Ultimate Serum (not revive!) It shares 42 of the same ingredients with Reviv Fibromedia the first ingredient. This is Himan Stem Cell conditioned media and a bunch of growth factors which are listed. I never used TNS because of the price. The Reviv Ultimate is $99 for 50ml 1.69 fl oz
I love this series Penn. Many thanks for busting the myth than skinmedica is unmatched blah blah blah. I feel it is a very overhyped product on youtube and hugely expensive - beyond the reach of many consumers. I believe it probably is a good brand, but no product is worth that amount of money unless you have a fairly unlimited budget. I refuse to be told that other skincare won't be effective unless it's so called "medical grade". This should only be used to describe prescription only products like tretinoin, steroids creams etc. I have always been interested in skincare and ingredients, so I love the less expensive products containing just really good ingredients. Love it or loathe it brands like the Ordinary and the Inkey List made a lot of ingredients available and better understood by many people. These aren't brands I use that often (though I have dipped in and out in the past), however they are fragrance free and affordable. It can be a good way to try an ingredient for sensitivity etc prior to investing in a slightly more elegant formula, which is how I tend to use them. Best wishes.
I luckily won the May Lindstrom blue cocoon in a giveaway last month and didn't have to pay it's high price. While I love the product, I do find it irritates the dermatitis on my forehead (thankfully covered by my fringe). I don't know if I'd buy it full price so I'm glad you were able to find a dupe! There is also another product with similar ingredients called Soapwalla Concentrate Repair Balm. Can't find many reviews on it but the ingredients list looks promising. In other news: I ordered the DRMTLGY sunscreen last night because of your recommendation. I needed to find something to wear daily as I'll be picking up the Avene Ystheal retinaldehyde cream. Thank you for all your wonderful knowledge and recommendations! Love from Canada :)
Lucky you to win that May Lindstrom! Woohoo! Thanks for the Soapwalla reference-I’ll definitely check it out too!! I hope you love the Drmtlgy! Happy Sunday ❤️
I absolutely love your videos you are so knowledgeable about products and sharing plus comparison. I love it now joining your FB page as well. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your videos, Penny. I’ve learned so much from you and have purchased so many of your recommendations. Keep up the fantastic work.
I asked a couple of videos ago if she would discuss truth treatments vitamin C and if you can mix them with copper peptides since it’s not ascorbic acid hope I get an answer on that question. but I love his products I use the vitamin C serum the vitamin C balm and his omega healing cream balm absolutely love his products been using them for over a year now he’ll never go back to any other kind of vitamin C not to mention they last a really long time too.
I have TIL PGA product but didn’t know what to do w/it. It’s an HA and that’s fabulous- thanks for the intel! I’ll be copping that May Lindstrom dupe 🏃🏾♀️
The may lindstrom product has no waxes in it though, it makes a huge difference in the application and performance/function of the product. Healing blue had wax and coconut oil in it which make it a balm, blue cocoon turns into an oil as soon as you touch it. Just because both of the items have blue tansy doesn’t mean they are the same, sadly.
Hey Penny, I love your reviews and knowledge with all the ingredients. Thank you for always providing affordable products. Can you review/recommend any shower gels/body washes.
Have you ever tried Fitglow Beauty’s Cloud Comfort Cream? It’s beautiful, but the price tag really hurts a single income budget. If you can find a dupe, it would be exciting!
Hi Penny! Thank you for your amazing videos. You’re my favourite vlogger 😻Can you also give some reviews on dermalogica products (other than the microfoliant and thermofoliant) thanks. God bless
Hi beautiful. Happy you were able to heal your nose while in beautiful Hawaii. I just love you, Penny. Thanks for the great information. Blessings, and love..MaryEllen
I appreciate this series of videos. They have been helpful and informative. I'd also love to know when to apply the different products and if they need to sit on the face. I know most products come with a recommendation, but not all do. I just finished the TNS serum and was so disappointed that I wasted that much money. Especially because I bought it through my dermatologist's office and spent $100 more than the price you listed. I asked the nurse when I should apply it and she said it was all I would need. Well I use vitamin C, niacinamide, and a couple of other Timeless products. I wonder if I saw no results because I didn't apply it in the right order. It also stopped pumping the pink liquid a month before it stopped pumping the off white liquid.
