Cows are so polite. I've seen many videos of them enjoying concerts and they're always in line, quiet, and at a good distance from the orchestra 🐄🐄🐄. They behave better than most humans.
Hate to burst everyone's bubble but cows will do that with pretty much anything theyre not familiar with. Try landing a parachute in a cow paddock - Ive done it twice and not only will they come running shoulder to shoulder like that they will do it at full speed, which is intimidating to say the least. Once youve safely jumped the fence and can talk to them without worrying about being trampled they'll just stand there and listen.
While hiking in British Columbia I came to a sharp corner in the trail and in a moment I was face to face with a black bear, no more than 10 feet away. Don't know what led me to this decision, but instead of fleeing, I pulled my harmonica out of my pocket, sat down on a log and while staring at my boots and not the bear, played a soft blues tune. The bear stood there listening for a good 30 seconds then turned and climbed up the hill. I couldn't believe what had just happened. A few miles down the road, while playing again, a bird dive bombed my head. Guess it's a matter of taste. Fifty years later this day still amazes me.
I have played guitar and sang for cows. I am a really dicey singer. Funny thing is, when I was on a roll, the cows would be right into it but when I was failing, they would turn away. They were a polite audience but they weren't going to stay around for crap.
Cows sure do love music. When I was a kid in the seventies my uncle had a dairy farm with 80 head. When he went in at 4:30 in the morning the cows would start mooing loudly, until he turned the radio on then they would shut right up. In the winter months when they were inside all the time he would leave the radio on during the day. And if you shut it off anytime during the day they would get mad start mooing until you turned it back on. My cousin had a great singing voice and when the cows were out in the pasture she would sing and they would come running just like in the video. Cows are awesome, much smarter and more soulful than you might expect.
My Russian Blue kitty (now an angel in Heaven), Severus, LOVED my voice. He absolutely loved when I would sing to him. When he was at the end of his life & we were taking to the vet he would be incredibly stressed out in the car. He HATED driving anywhere- he would usually scream and cry the entire time in the car. So I sang whatever song I knew I could from beginning to end. So I sang him Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" and he laid on my lap and gazed up at me with eyes full of love and admiration. Letting him go was the hardest thing I had to do in a long time. But I was happy I could keep him calm when he was already suffering. I miss you Sevy.❤
Thank you for sharing your story with us. I can relate cause I'm a cat lover and, unfortunately, they have shorter lifespan than us. God bless you and your blue angel.❤
Best thing one can do is get another little friend... project allthe love you have and still had into the new pet... so it will live on. I dont know where but i heard that phrase a looong time ago: "EVERY pet that die lovingly in our care will put in a good word for us in the afterlife"
Your story made me cry. I’m so sorry for your loss. Only a Russian Blue owner can know fully the depth, wisdom and sweetness of this breed. I lost my gentle giant Mikael 2 years ago. He ran away and never came back - I know he loved us as deeply as we did him. The hole in my heart will never leave. He was like my son and I feel like I lost my boy.
I'm facing my 9th spinal surgery in 14 years. I'm near giving-up. But when I watch a beautiful video like this... it reminds me of the beauty that's all around us. I am a life long gigging musician (been playing for 41 years). I have seen many people who enjoyed what I do, but "gigging" for animals looks AWESOME. I especially loved the elephant clips. They seem to enjoy grooving on the music as much as humans do. Wow... what a great video!!!
Cows are the best audience. So classy and attentive. Elephants are hilarious. They seem to dance along and the one who started playing the piano with his trunk wanted to participate. 😂😂
About elephants, sadly, when they "balance their body" it's a psychic problem induced by being detained... They don't dance... (I'm not talking about the one with the piano, but those close to the end of the video).
3:54 It's as if the elephant understands and feels what a "beat" is and is swaying to it. It's not just an assortment of pitches and noises to it. It's something that compels it to move. That's pretty amazing.
Please, listen to me, they aren’t dancing. This is a symptom of zoochosis. This animal is in captivity and feels as though it’s in a cage. Here, proof.
@@liversuccess1420 For the piano scene, maybe, but the other "dancing" elephants is hiding a sad truth: they never dance, when they balance their body like this, it's a mental trouble induced by them being detained and often abused.
@@garryiglesias4074elephants have been captured and/or domesticated for at least 3,000 years and not one source before 2020 make this absolute claim, and this ‘research' is from western countries where elephants are neither native, nor in large numbers in captivity.
"Compassion for animals is intimately associated with goodness of character, and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man." - Arthur Schopenhauer
Lets go one step further. People that love all things (other people, babies, animals, being alive, laughter, sunny days, and once in a while, rainy days) are the best people. Loving animals is a great trait, but lets not limit ourselves.
Here in New Zealand our dairy cows come from the paddocks into the milking sheds and are milked with music playing. It's been found that classical music produces the most milk. Classy cows!
@@Clavers1369 really and truly. The farmers who can't manage the classics do light pop, or the old tuneful singers like John denver, Harry belafonte, perry como, blue eyes sinatra et al. Heavy rock and rap just turn the cows off.
The girl in the first clip had a lot of fun when the cows started to come around. Cutest little smile ever. The cockatiel singing the man's song was amazing, and the elephants were great dancers. Not bad on the keys, either.
The elephants don't dance: it's a behavior emerging from a psychic problem induced by being detained and abused... They never "dance", they are mentally ill, sadly.
I was dying when the elephant was shaking its booty!!! 🤣🤣🤣 The cows coming up, wagging their tails like happy doggies plucked my heartstrings, but the parakeet sitting on the flute and filling in when the guy stopped playing was AMAZING!!! NOTE FOR NOTE!!!
All animals love human music. I used to play trombone for cows in Wyoming when I was on the road selling. It was so funny how they'd come and congregate at a certain distance away to listen. Their assembly had its own music to it.
birds are the best, they have been playing their own music for millions of years so they catch up to the new tunes quickly, mammals also love to listen to something new, intelligence and curiosity are the key
We have three retired racing greyhounds. They love big band music and the classic popular singers like Frank Sinatra. Gentle ballads really soothe them. One of our dogs loves to be sung to. She really likes it when my wife and I sing "Edelweiss," from The Sound of Music.
Cows are surprisingly receptive to performances. Many years ago, our friends from England invited us to go on holiday with them. They rented a farmhouse in Wales. After a few days, I found myself with the sniffles one morning. I opted to stay behind and rest while my family and our friends went on an excursion. With nothing to do and finding myself all alone, I started playing a guitar I found in the farmhouse. When I looked up from my seat in the back garden, I found myself facing a wall of cows from the neighboring farm, just calmly looking on. I strolled over to sing while playing the guitar. I couldn’t carry a tune, mind you, but I seem to have had an appreciative audience all the same.
After hearing the sounds musical instruments their reactions were so pure and true. It's true that music is an universal language. Expressions of the unique spectators are so cute and pure. They really enjoyed it. Special appreciation for the musical instrument player because they did wonderful job.
I love -nothing more than this. We can truly communicate with animals through music. Thank you to show this.If just we could do more for animals in this way.
My new fave animals beluga whale .I adore elephants as rode on one in Thailand . Cows love music they always grateful long as nothing harsh on their ears .we need more musicians to do this for animals all over the world especially for sea aquariums and zoos x
Loved it! Elephants really got soul, don't they? The 4-piece brass band was great with their Dixieland rag. And the ending was great too, showing how music soothes the savage beast! I wonder if you could pet those tigers while they were being soothed by the foxy girl with the violin? ❤
If I was able to play an instrument I would 100% go and check out this myself!! I totally love it! The curiosity of these animals is amazing and it can quite safely be assumed that, when a whole herd of cows comes running towards to musician and they all calmly stand there and keep listening to his music, that they LIKE it!
@@williampapadopoulos8145 Seemed to like the mariachi music more than the bagpipes. Can't say I blame him. I wonder what the pipes sound like underwater?
Playing music for other animals is the quickest way to become a better musician. Everyone should try it. It's made me an awesome player. I can tell it's really improved the ukulele gal's playing.
Many years ago, I used to play my guitar for my monkey, Zeek. He loved it. He would climb down from his perch and quietly sit next to me while I played. I often wondered what was going through his mind.
Watching these music artists play for these amazing animals and seeing the animal’s reactions certainly Helps relieve my Clusters of anxiety attacks 😏👍I am sooo Grateful for you all sharing these Flicks on RU-vid 🙏 Thank You sooooo much Please keep em coming 👏🙂💓
Love it❤ when I was younger and would visit my cousins farm, I'd sing through the barn window to get the cows in for the night. It worked everytime. When id go home, my cousin would call and ask my parents to send me back as the cows were giving her a hard time lol
this brought tears to my eyes seeing that pleasing sound frequencies evoke an emotional response from other creatures as well! And they hear frequencies that we cannot. they spend all their lives listening for the sake of detecting enemies and survival and most animals will never hear sounds like these. Humans used to be like that before we invented rudimentary instruments. what if you could take a band back in time and play for some peoples like say the apache indians. I wonder what those sounds would do to them. Like third eye blind said "those 4 right chords can make me cry". Music (and mathematics) truly are the universal language.
I've always wondered about the "why" of why animals are so attracted to music. I can only speculate, but my guess is that it's because it's a sound they aren't used to hearing in nature, and they have nothing to compare it to. Couple that with their heightened senses, and I can imagine that it quite literally "hits different" for them.
So very sweet and precious from these creatures to enjoy the music. They were adorable together listening to music. I believe they truly enjoyed whatever melody was played for them. This video is awesome full of beautiful animals enjoying the music. Thank you for sharing it, it is wonderful. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👏👍🙌😍🥰🥰
I used to get the same reaction from a Tiger named Mary Lou at the zoo I used to work at WITHOUT music. I'd call her from behind the day pen where the spectators couldn't see and she'd come over for a visit with me. I'd give her my fruit popsicle and then scratch her sides as she walked back and forth leaning into the fence. Very affectionate big kitty. She was lonely 😥
Man, if we can hash out which animals like which music the most, we might could have much more peaceful relations with animals. A group of guys strolling through the jungles of India, one of them playing songs the whole time to ward off tigers? Of course, the animals in these videos live in pretty close proximity to humans so they're already used to them.
Fantastic Dixieland Band. - Most living things respond to music in one way or another. The Uke and the tiger were fascinating... Elephants, amazingly smart as always - and the Mariachi band was brilliant!
After years and decades of learning, practicing and working to improve my musical skills, my best audience is a herd of cows and a bird who sings along with me.
The guy on the accordion, I was waiting for the Cows to break out in chorus "" And when we're gone from here, our Friends will be drinking all the beer, Shucks."" 🎹🎻🎺🎷🎼
My husband and I had a wonderful encounter with some birds in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We'd been putting bird seed out on the upper deck rail for several weeks. It was mid-Fall and warmer than usual after the first frost. One beautiful afternoon we were out on the deck just happy to be together and enjoy ourselves. Had some happy bluegrass music playing. Started tapping our feet and clapping our hands. And the birds! They all just started chirping along to the beat, too!
This is one of the cutest and amazing things that I’ve seen! The cows literally come running to hear music! This is such a sweet way to end my day♥️ Good Night
I sing to my Weimeraners all the time, often substituting their names into the lyric. For 35 years now, all of them have loved it. They also enjoy riding in my car with my music playing. Go nuts as soon as I jangle my car keys.
How could I have forgotten this? I used to sing to our hefers and steers in the early morning hours and in the dead of winter. How could I have forgotten that?
