Now this is a cabin! We absolutely loved our stay here. The landscape is so dramatic and the Skylark Cabin is perfectly designed to take full advantage of the wonderful views. That hot tub under the stars really is something very special! Rasa and I had a really great time filming this place, especially branching out to experiment with some astrophotography too! We hope you enjoy the episode! With Love, Bryce & Rasa
Thanks so much. We know that it's been a really difficult time for a lot of people all over the world. We feel very blessed to be based in New Zealand where we have not been affected as badly. Wishing you all the best!
I agree that it’s been depressing (it’s always depressing in Scotland though) but this channel isn’t a ‘nice escape’ - it’s a window into how amazing life could be if you strip back society’s rules and you dare to dream! 🤘🤘🤘🏴
@@raworange8187I wonder where you are from? I'm sorry you feel unhappy here. Scotland is beautiful, wild and elemental, the people friendly, accommodating and have such warm hearts. I have been in Japan, America and NZ. They all have their attributes, but my heart belongs to Scotia ❄🌈🌂💧🌞 😎
Bryce: "I just love this wonderful mountain view!" Garry: "That was deliberate. We had the mountains flown in from Spain so that these windows could have a bit of scenery". Bryce: "... And this incredible skyline you've got here." Garry: "That was also deliberate."
As an architecture student, it is all about speech, like a poem for the buildings, like selling an idea and make it beautifull, of course you cant forget the quality of the building, but is mainly speech
The white cat sitting on a rock staring into the cabin through the window while the insides were being showcased. I wondered if the cat would present itself at every window during the cabin tour.
I love how the shape of the house feels so informed by the shape of the mountains. The whole home is such a beautiful reflection of the nature that surrounds it! So thoughtfully and intentionally done
What is really impressing to me about this place is that is carries a strong masculine energy without feeling unomfortable or cold. Especially the bathroom was a really unique and well executed choice when it comes to the design.
unique and well designed yes, but black fixtures are everything but practical. every drop of water leaves chalk marks behind, so you have to constantly clean them.
Bryce, you really have a gift for bringing the absolute best of of each and every person you ha e on you channel. Your genuine interest in their homes and their interests as people is obvious. I thoroughly enjoy watching each episode.
As a Kiwi (happily) living in Australia... the strong visual impact of my mother country’s rugged landscape serve to remind me how beautiful the South Island is and how I miss that daily rugged beauty. And what a beautiful house and the night sky is without a doubt immense and wonderful.... serving to remind us that we human’s represent just an infinitely small speck in the cosmos.
I really liked Gary's demeanour and respect for the natural setting. Interesting to learn that he came from a corporate background and left behind that stress. Now he's created an amazing oasis of calm and beauty for others to experience. Really heartwarming!
Twizel ... unreal. The first home area of my eldest sister and her hubby some 50 yrs ago; and here I am watching the same glorious landscape from my home in Aussie. What a gloriously beautiful home Gary has built. Love its design & colours.
I really like everything about this house. It's simple, beautiful, the land is still in its natural state (bonus), the mountain and the sky views. I love trees, but I know I could happily make my home there and be equally happy. Well done!
At times, the landscapes looks as if it's painted! Watching your channel is quite an escapade from all the gloominess of the reality! Thank you so much!
Only watch LBTH in the morning, in the spring, the chime song at the end will become very nostalgic, and fill you with new beginnings every time you hear it.
Stunning, beautiful, tranquil - I love the stones outside - a world of contrasts, materials, textures, colours all harmonising with the exterior. Simply phenomenal.
Wow, I absolutely fell in love with this minimalistic house! It’s gorgeous, it flows, it has so many satisfying perks like the skylight, the bathtub, the living room window overlooking magnificent scenery ... wow, a feast for the soul this house is!
To experience sublime natural beauty is to confront the total inadequacy of language to describe what you see. Words cannot convey the scale of a view that is so stunning it is felt. - Eleanor Catton Just blessed 🥲
Hey Bryce... I am a follower from India... :) Now with this pandemic and everything going on, it's very refreshing to see your content with the stunning tiny houses, amazing landscapes of New Zealand and your absolutely pleasant and enthusiastic presentation. Also, the videography is top-notch. Even though tiny houses are almost non-existent in India, this channel and many other programs like tiny house nation have encouraged me to rethink my priorities and completely revolutionised my idea of a perfect home... !! Even though I have been following you for a very long time, this is the first time I am commenting here because with this pandemic and everything, things just look so bleak and this channel gives me hope and positivity that's important to keep myself going in these tough times. Thank you for these lovely videos. Please keep posting 🙂
This is a rare beauty! An example of exceptional design, and restraint in favor of exquisite materials. The harmony of outdoors and indoors. The art and accessories are so carefully chosen, the curtains an abstraction of the night sky. And then the Dürer bunny on the high sill is so comical! The perfect counterpoint. As the owner conveyed, the essence of learning in a lifetime of living big that we don’t need so much to be content. “Not that the story need be long, but it will take a long while to make it short.” Henry David Thoreau, 1857, American Author
I really enjoy watching videos on Bryce and Rasa’s channel. Just a sense of positivity and optimism not only about tiny homes but about life. Keep up the fantastic work!
I had a long working day. Almost 17 hours shift and to relax, I searched on youtube the first thing - "Living big in a tiny house." Lovely video Bryce. Thanks for making our days and nights. Love from Ireland.
This is beautiful, thankyou for the tour, a serene example of building in sympathy with the landscape. The landscape reminds me of the North of Scotland up past where my Mum's family are.
This is an incredible home! I’m not the only viewer hoping for a relaxation of NZ travel rules soon, so we can book ourselves a stay at this house before they move into it full time!
Design is the key word here. Every feature was planned, relished before it manifests. Like Frank Lloyd Wright.. I'm a designer and I am enthralled. Well done, friend.
He is so justifiably proud. It looks so spacious. Beautifully filmed, i presume that is a carport with storage space on the one side? Big budget project. He would have a ball designing with the landscape in South Africa!
Hi Bryce! I ain't got a house myself, but when I watch your highly-professional vids my heart is leaping with joy for others. Thank you for your tiny but great positive life-infusing works! God bless!
I immediately thought of this home when seeing the one with the older couple with the incredible view of the Western coast. I saw an online article. It is one of, for me, one of the most beautiful I've ever seen.
You all have the most beautiful country on Earth, and I'm Californian, so I have a basis to compare to. I visited New Zealand for a month, and it wasn't nearly enough.
I love the outdoor tub in those magnificent views! The oculus skylight is amazing and perfectly placed over the bed! I would love to stay at that Air B&B! Nice time-lapse shot of the night sky!!
Here in India, the situation is very serious, in this situation, watching the video gives a lot of satisfaction to the mind. Make such good videos and entertain everyone and hope that the situation will be normal again in the whole world.
Now that's living holistically with nature & self. Just watching this video I immediately felt ad if I were in a safe warm cozy nest. The home married with the incredible landscape just enraptures you like a crysallis.
The owner has such a genuine "poker-face" hardly any expression if it were me I'd be bouncing off the walls with excitement & pride. It's really fascinating how personalities & expressions defer despite experiencing the same thing.
What an amazing place = Bryce you are such a professional presenter. I have loved your channel for your supportive, positive vibe in every vlog. No envy, just get the viewer the best perspective of what you see. I would be so happy to stay in this B&B - Hobart to NZ it is possible! Thank you again Bryce for letting us see beautiful NZ xx
BY FAR the most balanced, spacious and organically placed home. I absolutely love what he mentioned about you landscaping being needed, it transcends every sincere effort made in this design. What a wonderful home & setting! A beautiful couple to build such a vision ... and share it with others! The stars are shining bright on them~
