Amazing Ball Illusion!

Playing around with an ipod, a tv, 2 computers and a ping pong ball. No special effects were used.
Lets clear up some controversy.
How I did the video:
I filmed 5 separate clips of me dropping a pingpong ball onto a wooden surface. Each clip is unique. I edited all the clips together so that I could calculate the timing needed to carry out the stunt. After I calculated the times, I rendered each clip separately.
Clip 1 - Transferred to the desktop computer
Clip 2 - Burned to dvd to play on the LCD TV
Clip 3 - Transferred to the laptop
Clip 4 - Transferred to iPod
Clip 5 - Transferred to iPod
How the overall video was executed.
1. Hit play in WMP for Clip 1 to start. Length of clip approx 1:40 seconds
2. Hit play on dvd player, iPod clip #1 and WMP on laptop at approximately the same time.
3. Once the ball "rolled" into the iPod from the laptop I loaded iPod clip #2.
4. Continued walking back to desktop computer which has been playing the video since the beginning, then tilted the ipod at the appropriate time so that it would match up with the desktop clip.
Thats it!
There is absolutely no remote used in this video. PERIOD!
Don't ask me why I stood with my hand behind my back. I just did.

JellyRumRumThe8th Unlike is a word, but it's separate from dislike. When you unlike a video, you undo your like. You can do that on RU-vid. :-) It's actually pretty hard to tell, but it's pretty cool! :-)

For all those who spotted mistakes, such as Media playing videos on the computers, restarting the animation, spotting the camera man's shadow. Try to do it better then! Because this is brilliant work.

It's actually really is simple. Note how he waits 2-3 seconds before tipping the laptop. This is because he knows when the ball will roll and when to tip it. What makes it seem so lifelike is the angle he tips it and the actual speed of the ball rolling. Pretty neat.

you can see on the laptop by the TV it is a video playing on windows media player. he made all of these videos and timed them perfectly together to look like the ball was moving between them. nice work!

As an amateur close up magician, illusions rely heavily on timing. You did a great job with that. I've seen these types of routines often. Timing was well done here. Nice illusion. On side note, what music was this video using?

@versuchsnich theres no gyro. the clip is of a rolling ball, so if he tilts his laptop just as it starts playing the clip, it will look like he was making it roll. its just about the timing

@GOINGPROfootballers well its only 1 tv a ipod and a couple laptops, but look at the first laptop, the progress bar for the video being played in media player is barely at half when the ball comes into from, like mrcrazyguy101 said, it was just good timing, a video was played back on all 4 devices and he just timed everything right

You know. I had assumed you had done some clever work with linking the two computers and the iphone over the network with a simple little ball program. If the laptop had a tilt sensor, then all of that would of synced itself. Oh well... Windows media player is fine...
