When I went here we took a boat from Palermo and stayed out in the water the whole day so I didn’t get to see this area from the beach side. Wow, it really is busy!! Thanks for sharing!
Shoot me. Warm bus; Crowded beach; dropped off before the bar opens; warm water you can’t cool off in. I’ll stay on the ship. Better yet, book a cruise to Alaska in the Summer. 😂
Excitement = noise so I usually don’t mind. Yes! Seeing kids playing in the street is reminiscent of bygone days for sure:) You made the video dreamy though, noise and all.
Morgan, I would have been so upset with that beach. I can only equate it to city living. I go to a beach and love to see the water from my lounger, not wall to wall umbrellas and a fence, really, a fence to corral you in. Wow, so many people! But thanks as always.
Your travel guide video always feels like a friendly chat with a fellow traveler. Your personal touch sets it apart. Speaking of travel essentials, have you seen the new v4 Bento Bag from NomadLane? It looks like a practical solution for wanderers like you.
Yes! I'm a "do it yourself" kind of guy too (not to be confused with do it with yourself, that's just weird). 😂 Yes, to playing in the street!!! Growing up in Philly, we played street hockey and the goalies would yell "CAR" every time a car turned into our street, so that we could move out of the way and they could move the goalie nets. Our games were very "The Goldbergs" as we wore Flyers Jerseys (did I say I grew up in Philadelphia?). Back in the 1970's, that's what we did. Later, we would play street hockey with roller skates (not blades, skates). Good times!
I went into one of those cafes in Florence where you order what you want at the register and pick up your order at the glass case and I was utterly confused. I didn't speak the language, I didn't know what any of the pastries were called, I couldn't see what was in the case very well due to the long line of people in front of it, so I just left and went somewhere else. It was frustrating. :(
I’m the same way, I like to travel and explore on my own pace. 😊 Thanks for the video! Edit: Those raspberry (?) bar things look heavenly! And I agree, I HATE being surrounded like that and hassled. They’ll get meet with a firm No and a head shake and if that doesn’t work HAHAHAHA. 😂 They really need to be more respectful. I get it’s their “job” or whatever but some respect goes a long way. Being aggressive isn’t the way to go. Seeing the kids playing in the street brings back so many memories of me with my Razor scooter and my bike just riding around every street in my neighborhood with my friends. 😭
Wow, €4.50 for a big bottle of water and mini pizza is a great price! The beach would be waaay to crowded for my liking :P If I really wanted to go to the beach and knew it would be that crowded, definetely a cruise excursion for me ;)
👍🏻I was one of those kids, 55 years ago. One street back from the ocean, between the beach and and an ocean pool. Not only did we play in the street. But our bikes would block the road, and the motorists had to wait for us. That wouldn’t happen today the streets are much to busy
I am currently setting up a Top Ten of things nobody from outside Italy should do during the Italian summer school holidays. No. 1: Cruise on a Costa cruise ship No. 2: Go to a beach in Italy No. 3: Visit Rome I am looking forward to you making suggestions.
We played in the street all the time but it was a small town with cars only rarely coming through. I don't like to do touristy things so I don't do the ship excursions, but there are times when I would. Most likely if I want to see something that's quite a distance from the ship and I don't want to risk not making it back in time, I would do a ship excursion. I got off in Ensenada to try and find someone selling nice sandals but didn't find any. I would have done better if I had bothered to learn some useful Spanish. I didn't need to know where the library or bathroom was!
Those aggressive people that want to sell me something in the ports .... I call them "Schmeißfliegen"... A perfekt German word, I find. You know that word... And yes, it turns me off. I do not want to buy whatever from them.
