Assay Office (pronounced 'Ass' 'Say') is where they would assess (hence the name) the value of your mined materials. Usually found in mining towns or around operations of that nature. They would also optionally be a place to sell your mined goods if you decided to do so.
I kid you not, my partner and I were at Knotts on Super Bowl Sunday and literally said "I hope the Carpetbagger is here today, he's in LA!" this is crazy! im so happy you made this video
Hi Jacob. I don't usually comment on videos, but I have to thank you for taking me along on your adventures. I always wanted to travel, but after getting married, having 5 kids, and working, that dream was put on hold. Now I'm disabled and can't travel, but you have shown me so much that I feel like I'm right there with you.
Thanks for showing Knotts some love. Great old old school feel to that place. I missed seeing Jenn. But I know us mere mortals would have a hard time keeping up with the carpetbagger.
watching this video reminded me that I bought a bottle of Boysenberry Punch mix I bought at Knotts. So I broke it out and drank a glass along with you, cheers!
Thanks for visiting the Oooooold West. We here at Knott’s appreciate guys like you and Adam and Justin for showing folks a bit of western history and the Knott family story. This years Haunt is our 50th so come on back, it’s gonna be big.
Thank you so much for giving my home park Knott's Berry Farm more exposure in your channel. I was there back at the end of December early January for the final week of their Merry Farm Christmas celebration. I hope you keep on visiting Knott's more that Disney. Knott's definitely has more heart than that corporate money pit in anaheim. You have earned more of my respect.
I don't know how I have passed up that badass Calico Mine dark ride at Knotts. Really cool. I also couldn't help but chuckle seeing the one kid on his phone the whole time lol.
It's hard to find the old school parks. The new stuff is fun but nostalgia really pulls on the heartstrings. Silver Dollar City just announced fire in the hole will be torn down after the 23 season, it's never my first ride but we never miss it.
What a cool theme park! I love how they kept the old school parts of the park and just added modern rides and attractions so the best of both worlds!!! Feels very nostalgic!!
Stagecoach reminded me of being a Kid, there was a halfsize one on Yarmouth front along with the normal fullsize open tops and there just seemed to be something novel about being closed in for a ride.
I grew up in Garden Grove which is adjacent to Buena Park and Anaheim. At 10 i would ride my bike to either Knotts or Disney. I used to spend a lot of time at both parks, but my favorite place was Liberty Hall by the pond feeding the ducks. Knoitts is classic, but got really noisy after the addition of the rides.
You sneaking up and "stealing" that chocolate from that statue cracked me up. You made my day with this video. Thank you for posting!! You are awesome. I hope you and Jen are having fun!! Enjoy your time!!
I voted for the museum 😆 Glad to see you guys are having a great time! Have a fantastic day Jacob and Jen ❤️ All the best from Ottawa Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
“Why are there only ladies in this hotel?” 😂😂😂. Classic Carpetbagger quote there. It’s been 10 years since I’ve been to Knott’s. I have a CF Platinum Pass. Maybe I should remedy that! Thanks for sharing and as always, great work.
Wow, thank you so much. That brought me so many great memories back to me from my childhood 40 to me 50 years ago. I always got a kick out of old town. I was always excit3d to go look thru the windows. Knotts was the one and only place where my mom rode the log plume ride because dad told her how cool it was on the inside, so she bravely stood in line, i was so excitd because I knew she was never go I ng to ride it again. She rode it like a lady with a mission. I think she even said a quick prayer before we went down. Yes, there was a cute scream she did it! Dad and i hugged her, but she did inform dad and I that was her 1st and last log flume ride that she would take part in. Lol. Thanks for going there. Oh, the stage coach ride was on dirt, not asphalt when I rode it. Lol. Keep up the great work.
I have always wanted to see this park, now I know for sure I will go! Love seeing those young guys at the end, they were so genuinely happy to recognize you !
I have really fond memories of Knotts. If I visited any themepark in socal these days, this would be the one. Especially around halloween! Miss you dad
I love Knott's Berry Farm so much! I live in Wisconsin but I think of all theme parks I have been to, this is the one I have visited the second most often next to Great America in Gurnee. There is just so much to do and see there. It is not just about the rides and I love it.
Knott’s is an amazing SoCal theme park before I got my pass I completely forgot about the stage coach rides. You don’t find as many of those around these days especially without a special fee or charge. Thanks for the Vlog.
This is my fave too. I need to slow down and check out the ghost town bldgs seems we are usually racing to a ride, love the berry punch and I need to make it a point to find the undertaker
Haven't been able to go to Knott's since 2019. Such a fun place to go, thanks for visiting and filming it! Great place. Oh one other thing, that's the least amount of people I've ever seen at the Knott's Chicken Restaurant! Love that place too.
im from here!!! so cool to see u check out knotts, definitely a special place in my childhood!! if ur still in the area, make sure to hit up portos!!!! its the greatest bakery/restaurant of all time u will Love it
One of the best theme parks next to Disneyland and Universal Hollywood in all of California, thanks for sharing and we'll see you out on the road for more fun adventures to come!
I grew up going to Kitts Berry Farm .I love it there ! Lots of great memories of being there with my dad. Thanks for going there .I hope since this was a year ago that you go back sometime this year. I would love to see the changes.
Nearly all the people in the buildings used to move ! Sad to see that they don't move anymore . course their very old. Like One eye Joe said the been there for 70+ years .I loved riding the stage coach and the train! They used to hijack both and you got robbed .they gave you everything back at the end . it was fun its been to many years now since I was there. Last time was in 1981. Forever it seems like a life time ago!
I’m glad you didn’t miss the train hold-up! I swear, that train company has the worst luck. Anyway, happy Valentine’s Day to you and Jen. I missed seeing her in this video. I think she might have liked the concert with the Peanuts gang in the evening with Jelly of the Month Club. Safe travels!
You missed the blacksmith Justin Scarred has his brand on the side so every vlog of Knotts is branded by Justin Scarred you can't get that at Disneyland.
This is a very good coverage of Knott's Berry Farm. By the way, have you considered a trip to San Diego? I think you would enjoy both the San Diego Zoo and Old Town San Diego.
Amazing video, I miss watching your dark rides. All those animatronics moving throughout that ride was really cool to watch. I love those types of rides at amusement parks.
Thanks Jacob I really enjoyed seeing Knotts and the Peanut Gang ! I like the authenticity of some of their building's And I see they're very friendly and Fun ! Thank you for taking me along 💕 Safe Travels 🙏 I hope Jenn is ok
This is giving mad nostalgia and memories as a kid . Haven't been to this or any theme park since the late 90's. I remember the fried chicken was really good. I used to go about every year due to my father's work. I remember being very excited about it. Like, when we told we going to Knotts the first thing I asked was can we eat the fried chicken? I remember the train robbers and actually being really scared each time. I went on each year but every time I thought "this is it, they're really gonna rob us this time".
They used to have one of those observation tower rides in Oklahoma City at the State Fairgrounds. It was a double decker car from the 1960s. Unfortunately, the city refused to replace the generator and allowed it to rot.
