1. In Karnataka, Kodagu alone accounts for more than 50% of total coffee production. Apart from high overall production levels, Karnataka also boasts some of the highest yield rates in the country. The state's favourable temperature and climate conditions are major contributing factors to its large-scale coffee cultivation.
2. Karnataka has the only operational gold mine in India. Kolar gold fields and Hutti goldfields are the two major goldfields located in Karnataka. Hutti Gold Mines is the only producer of primary gold in the country.
3. Karnataka, the top producer of roses in India, has more than doubled the production of the flower in 2022. Bengaluru’s roses are in demand from international countries as well.
4. Mysore Paints and Varnishes is India's sole manufacturer of indelible voting ink since 1962. The company today is helping the smooth functioning of elections in 30 countries, including India, Thailand, Singapore, Nigeria, Malaysia, Cambodia, and South Africa.
5. The Cauvery or Kaveri delta is one of South India's rice bowls and supports 4.4 million people. The Kaveri basin contributes 40% of the food grain in Tamil Nadu and 26% in Karnataka. But both the states have been involved in the Cauvery or Kaveri river dispute for water-sharing for decades.
