I live in England and its a shame we don't get taught this in history. I visited Jallianwalabagh a month ago and it was heartbreaking 💔 so many emotions and thinking what happened where and how. Yes, rashes from pad and the smell is a concern. Yet after trying cup for 5 months I came back to pads due to these resons: * Ppl like me who have very painful periods find it difficult to open and spread the legs wide enough to insert the cup. * For insertion you have to stoop or sit which becomes a problem with small or unhygienic or wet toilets. Also the kind of clothes you are wearing might make it more difficult * Takes a lot of time for insertion and removal. Long queues in public toilets during a short break makes it stressful and therefore insertion and removal becomes more difficult due to muscle tightening. * Need for repeated washing of hands and the cup. Availability of clean dry toilets with well fitted taps and enough clean water supply is a must. * Keeping track of the time of insertion is a hassle esp when travelling. * You can change a pad even in a not so clean environment but for cups you need to have a plan to access soap and water for removal and reinsertion. * Need for sterilisation and great hygiene, chances of getting messy etc. * Ppl who often get diarrohea during periods find it difficukt to poop because the cup tends to move downwards during each poop
