1. Agra has been India's biggest shoe making centre since the Mughals ruled from the city centuries ago. Agra meets nearly 65% of domestic shoe demand and accounts for more than 25% of the country's $2 billion shoe exports.
2. Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of food grains in India and accounted for about 18.89% share in the country’s total food grain output in 2020-21. It is also the leading producer of vegetables in India.
3. Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh is the “Glass City of India”. It has been producing glass products, specially bangles for over 200 years.
4. During the 50 days of Kumbh Mela, over 220 million come to Prayagraj and the Hindu pilgrimage is dubbed as the world’s largest human gathering.
5. The Auraiya district is a major producer of pure desi ghee. Uttar Pradesh is also the largest milk-producing state, as it has the highest buffalo population and the second-highest cattle population in the country.
