I like splitting a couple pieces with a maul, but I REALLY like using the log splitter 😄

I have a hatchet made by them and it's still very sharp. Some people take an old tire and put the piece inside and walked around swinging the axe and that way they stay together and don't fly all over the place

I was looking at them at an Ocean State Job lot store last month. Ocean State is a close out / discount store. They seemed nice, pretty cheap too. Maybe I should go buy one now.

Get a 4 or 5 lb axe with a 36" handle. You will never pick up a fiskars toy again. Or try splitting knotty white oak. with that.

I have one of those splitting mauls and to be honest, I’d rather use the Fiskars. Fiskars also has a 6 and 8 pound maul I might have to compare to my Trupper 8 pound maul. Keep on tractoring!

@@ritterjon not referring to a maul but an axe. They are rarely found in stores but easy to find online. Mauls work well but a heavy axe works better. The extra length gives you much more power. The extra weight does too. Momentum is speed times weight, energy is speed square times weight. Physics works for you. I can swing à 5 pound axe all day. Women or guys not used to heavy work would likely chose the fiskars as being easier to control. They will work harder to do the same amount of splitting.
