By the Grace of God he made all men created equal yet we seem to forget that. It's just disgusting on how other human beings can treat other human beings as animals. This is why it's very important that we learn from the past because we'll be doomed to repeat it all over again. I remember the first time I watched this movie I was in I youth group at my Presbyterian Church.
Deuteronomy 7:6 “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.”
My ancestors were fronm there as well. Later lived in oklahoma indian reservation, later in Texas and Alabama. I am researching to find more connection. Of Matkins, Thompson's maybe others
Slavery & the Slave Trade remain among the darkest chapters in human history. I think we should be teaching this subject in secondary schools so that this barbaric trade in human beings is never forgotten. Instead of teaching this subject in our schools, children learn up to 4 years of World War 2 & the nazi Rise & Fall (yes this is also a period of history we need to study and learn form so as to not repeat it but schools could teach WW2 in 1st & 2nd year then teach pupils about the slave trade in 3rd & 4th year or vice-versa or even wait to 5th & 6th year - my point is slavery and the slave trade need to be taught in our schools instead of the same subject that is WW2 from 1st - 4th year. I live in Glasgow, Scotland part of the United Kingdom. Many Scots seem to distance themselves from the reality that Glasgow and Scotland prospered / beneftted greatly from the slave trade. Many of Glasgows streets are named after wealthy Tobacco Lords & merchants who grew rich from the slave trade.
