Another " off the chart" episode. Boy's i tell ya, I've watched many a episode on abandoned mines { RU-vid } from around the world, and nothing compares to the timbering you found, in that mine. All in all, great filming and cinematography. Love you guys🤠

Judging by the color in the walls I would say there is still some viable metals left to be gathered. Especially GOLD

That large square timber, and the square holes in the platforms, is an old lift pump rod. Beam type steam engine on the surface would move that shaft up and down tto pump out water. In some mines, men would attach timber cross pieces like ladder rungs, and put platforms and the extreme travel lengths the shaft would move, as a way into and out of the mine. I will find you some pics of where this is used. This also tells me it was a significant workings

That's really interesting. So you reckon they whacked the square cribbing in to guide the pump string? I was leaning towards the platforms being pentices, but I'm just a casual mine expert.

Epic explore mates! The timbering is impressive and looked dangerous as hell, and to see the scale of it compared to a man, drives that point home. The shaft was equally as impressive and dangerous looking. All in all, very impressive and entertaining mates, thank you for the share, Eb and mates. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and yours, 🎄🍹 till the next🦘⛏⚒⛏ Take care and stay safe!

At the 13.29 minute mark, you are literally standing on one of these platforms

We figured we were. The rock that Buck accidentally dropped down that hidden shaft echoed through the ballroom. It's one of the most dangerous scenes we have faced yet.

Lol@"Professional idiots". Yup, we were in a mine a few videos ago where there was a dodgy ladder down a shaft to get in. Ladder seemed ok but moved a lot, so we assailed in and kept on the rope while climbing back up it. I know what you mean, coming towards the end of an explore when your tired and knackered, recording can be quite difficult from both physical and motivational perspectives. Looks like copper in there? That's some of the most impressive shaft woodwork I've ever seen! Epic explore :)

Thankyou mate. This means a lot coming from your guys. This was a tin lode mine and for over 10 years was the richest tin mine in all of Australia. Huge deposit. In the 80s they knocked in a modern decline but we think they couldn't pump it out and make money at the same time.
