Amazing Hot Metal Factory - Modern Technology And Hot Forging Process 🔔 Thanks for watching my videos, enjoy, and subscribe for more interesting videos! / @machinerytechnology
i saw that and thought " they really cant come up with a way to just make one machine feed it to another machine?" like cmon lol. this guy is risking his hands.
having worked in a steel mill in Kansas City back in the 90-early 2000's, it amazes and saddens me to see those guys working around hot steel with no safety equipment on. No aluminized coats, no steel toed shoes, no hearing protection, not even any safety glasses. That's why steel manufacturing left the US. dirt cheap wages and no OSHA. It's really a shame. I miss that job.
@@borbo23 No, actually they industrialized your country. Then they went somewhere else when your lifestyle got too rich in comparison to other people on this planet. Remember, nobody owes you anything in this world.
First one seems unnecessarily dangerous, no barrier around the heaters. Imagine the guy giving directions gets distracted and trips and stumbles into the pit. They could have easily put a little barrier in between but they just left it exposed lol
That’s exactly what I was about to say. When they were lowering that giant gear into the other pit you can see one of the workers backing up. I’m sure it could easily turn bad really fast if he tripped over that tiny barrier into that furnace.
Don't be fooled by comments like "these are real men". Nope, real men want protection from foreseeable accidents. Putting one's self into unnecessary danger isn't noble. It's foolish. And it's a sign that this employer won't spend a few extra dollars for the safety of the men making him rich.
@Witha Marshview Real men figure out how to make the best of their circumstances so they can put food on the table. OFCOURSE saftey is important. I'm sure this factory isn't in the USA, however, it took a long time before mandatory regulations were put in place in the USA. During the industrial revolution things were not safe, it took time and organization from workers and goverment to change business models in favor of safety. That being said, factory work, industrial environments, or work with heavy machinery isn't safe. It takes attention and overall awareness no matter what country or industry you work in. In many cases you are as safe as the person working adjacent to you. Home power tools and ladders aren't safe either, but caution and skill can change that in ones favor.
I've never worked it this field but it just seems odd to me, that people are still required to move the glowing metal by hand. Facinating none the less.
They might be electing not to. You see people in the same plant wearing PPE so it may be a choice by experienced workers who are confident enough in their skills that they know they wont burn themselves. I dont imagine those ablator gloves are comfortable...
i wish videos like this showed a full process from beginning to end, so you could see what something started as, and what actual end product it became, instead of just disjoint tiny bits of different things
giant pit of what can be assumed to be molten metal from an arc furnace or other industrial scale heater: 2 people bumping around next to it: 3 number of guard rails: 0
This channel is a legend thumbnail had me saying that can not be real and you started the video with proving me wrong! well done! Not all hero's wear capes!!
In the US, these guys would not be wearing tank tops or no PPE. It's crazy how other countries don't protect their employees or provide protective equipment to keep them safe. It looks fun though. And the processes are pretty cool!!!
1:00 - 2:27 "OSHA? Never heard of her!" XD 6:14 "Sure, I'm welding in an enclosed space with my face right above the work, but the upbeat music makes it worthwhile!" XD Sorry, I crack myself up.
Thus is amazing. There really are people actually working on valuable things, instead of dicking around on mobile phones and coding gaming software or writing essays about which bathroom to use.
That is what a Foundry is. Converting hot metal into usable items. Although as you said it looks like a serious incident waiting to happen. Where I work there is on a rare ocassion burns even with PPE...
How come these works don’t even have protective gloves or face shields, clothings working with hot metals. Don’t they have regulations or law to protect works ?
It’s crazy the amount of stuff that happens in other countries, and were usually told it’s because it’s not possible to do it here it’s too expensive…yeah because the countries that are making it have next to no safety standards.
Most comments are moaning about companies making higher profits by going to countries that use workers as cannon fodder but ur forgetting the other side you and me that moan about high prices and daily spending we are all to blame changes need to be made but its all of us not the blame game 👌👌 great video interesting hot iron works.
Thanks for the video! Those guys have a dangerous job. I've seen a lot of the 'fails' videos of these places going up in flames if something goes wrong. Good to see the machines and men in action.
Another video that could be named "Amazing unsafe steel making practices" as how many are not wearing any safety equipment at all and machinery looks like old US company machinery that was shipped out to other countries!
This is what every older person tells you they did back in the war or something lol nowadays you gotta use safety gear. Some of this is just foolish pride to look tough
What gulag was the second place? no guards, no safety equipment, not even a set of gloves for men literally catching and tossing white hot metal rods with tongs, and all the machinery looks about 50 years old. terrifying.
