Vavilov was a great scientist and the most prominent Russian geneticist who visited over 50 countries, spoke around 20 languages, and founded the first in the world enormous collection of plant seeds of various sorts. His major achievements both in science about plants and in its practical implementation in agriculture didn't protect him from persecution by the Soviet regime. He was arrested, severely tortured, and died in prison at the age of 55. Stanislav tells Vavilov's dramatic and fascinating story in simple and slow Russian and believes that his story deserves to be remembered, and his name - commemorated.
