Wow what a great loss Denise, I am so chuffed for you especially after last week. Congratulations on achieving your award. you have done so incredibly well to lose such an amount. It takes a lot of commitment, determination and effort to get this far. the change in you from when I first started following you is amazing. Not just you weight loss but I too can see how you have blossomed. You are so right in what you say about being kind to yourself and having the treats that you want. You enjoy your week off, you certainly deserve it and hopefully you will be feeling better by the time you return to work. I look forward to seeing Copenhagen too, not a place we have ever visited xx

Hi Kim! Thank you so much. I am glad that you can see a difference in me in how I look but, act! It is so important to always see the bigger picture of the whole person during weight loss or weight gain, if that is important for someone too. I have enjoyed my week off, and had a little of everything that I want. I said to James that if I have a gain, then it’s been worthwhile as I have been able to enjoy things that I haven’t eaten since last May. I have to allow myself these things when I’m on holiday otherwise, it becomes an issue or fear of eating food and I felt like this a few weeks ago. I don’t want to get like that again! Weight loss is great, but weight gain is normal too and I do want to try to normalise it in my head a little as it will come off again as quick as it goes on. I am expecting a gain tomorrow, but I have had a great week off and I’m back to my usual routine again as of Monday! We are really excited about going to Copenhagen too. The only reason we booked it was because of super cheap flights! I think it was £17-18 per person, each way! Thank you for taking the time to watch my video 🩷 xxx

I am so pleased you took your foot off the pedal a little and enjoyed your week off along with some of the things you perhaps wouldn't normally eat on your journey. Denise I’m so happy for you. I was like you I lost weight at home at first, then joined slimming world a year later. I lost over a stone at home,then 2 stone 7 at slimming world. I am now at target weight. I pep a lot. I am never deprived of nice food. I just count my syns. Mind you I have gained now and then, but got back on track. At Christmas I watched your videos and made them lovely wraps with mince meat in that you demonstrated how to cook. I also made the sausage rolls 😋 Your channel has helped me so much xxx From a Geordie subscriber xxxxx

Hi Denise, Strangely I think the camping trip sounds the most fun. I was in Copenhagen as a school trip and it is lovely, we didnt eat except packed lunches but there are loads of bikes to rent if you want to get around easily. Thanks for all the tips, I am working my weight up not down, but the same stuff applies, if things dont go great, just keep going, dont be overly mad at yourself. I give myself such a hard time and have too high standards so I appreciate your reality grounding, I am so pleased your mental health is feeling alot better, thanks. Carol

Hi Carol, thank you so much for watching! We are really looking forward to going, and especially looking forward to trying an abundance of foods. We are big foodies and so we do like trying new cuisines. You sound like you are doing very well and making progress. I have been in annual leave this week and so SW has not been at the forefront of my mind for the first time since last May, and if I’m honest, I’ve enjoyed not being worried about food or weight. I’ve had a little of everything that I’ve wanted this week and so, whatever the scales say tomorrow is fine by me. What I’ve recognised is free time/routine is especially important for me going forward, and so I need to work on that and adding in food to my free time doesn’t need to be associated with guilt nor worry of gaining. Thank you for supporting me, I’m glad that a lot of what I’ve mentioned can resonate with you too. Take care x

Your weight loss is a marathon not a sprint and you've done really well. No doubt in the future you'll have some more lows as well as highs, it's just the nature of the beast. But as you have a great understanding of weight loss and its nuances I'm sure that in both are short and long-term you will reach your goals. In other words, you are doing really well, and I'm sure you'll continue to do so.

Thank you very much, Dennis. If I gain, I’m not going to worry too much about it. The main thing for me is keeping the losses coming more than the gains. I have a minimum of 2 stone to still lose, but ideally would want to achieve a bit more than that. We all have to enjoy ourselves at times. Thank you for understanding! X

Well done Denise absolutely fantastic. I haven’t put on since I started but for last 3 weeks I’ve maintained and it’s so frustrating and getting upset by it so much so thinking of giving up . I’ve lost 2 stone 8lbs so far x

Hi Bev, thank you so much for your encouragement and support. Try to make a plan for a few days at a time, make some of your most favourite low syn or syn free meals or snacks, try some new soups. The red pepper and tomato one is my favourite and very low calorie too. Please don’t give up, maintaining is a positive so please don’t see it as anything other than that. Maintaining is vital to long term success with your weight management and so please do keep going. A loss of 2 stone 8lbs is amazing, you are in no rush and you can’t speed your body up to lose at times, unfortunately. Regardless, you know what you have accomplished so far, and you cannot underestimate that. Well done Bev, keep going! If I can help at all, please do let me know xx

@@ScottishFoodieLassie bless you thank you so much . I’m finding it hard after being diagnosed with coeliac disease and can’t eat oats or eggs either and I use to love both . I do a food diary and can see what I eat in a day , I’m sticking to plan but scales not showing me what I want to see . Thank you for your support xx

Sorry pressed send to early. I hope you have had a lovely week off. Can i ask 1 question. I have around 6 or 7 syns a day but sometimes I feel like I am depriving myself. For instance I brought some of those Fibre One bars but haven't had yet as feel bad going up to say 11 or 12 syns. It worries me this could be my failure. Thanks again you are so lovely❤xxx

Hi Sue, no problem! I’ve done that a few times before too. I have been there and done it Sue and it isn’t worth the stress! As a rule of thumb, 1 Syn is 20 calories of anything that isn’t a free or speed food. So having 6 or 7 syns per day is 120/140 calories per day extra. You could burn that off on a 30-40 min brisk walk. I always aim to have about 10 syns per day. If I have less, great - but I don’t worry if I have slightly more. Why not try having one of your bars a few times a week rather than every day and see how it affects your losses. Over the course of the week, you may not need or want the extra bar anyway, but please do not deprive yourself of something you’ve bought and paid for and want to enjoy! Cut back on your portions for other things if you want to have more balance too, e.g. weighing out my pasta and rice is something I do all the time and I purposely have less than the pack suggests as one portion if I know I plan on having some extra treats. It’s all a balancing act which we can only try our best with xxx

Will let u know but I think this is were I have been going wrong I deprive myself bit then go other way and binge it and that is a habit I used to have!! We always go away for four nights in April for our anniversary, going to Cyprus. Family holiday in Mexico September. Hard one as want to enjoy my holiday , but still have a fatty liver 🤔 X

Hi Jane. Cyprus sounds lovely, I’ve never been there or visited Mexico either. Which is your favourite hotel and why? You can enjoy it but have to just be a little cautious I guess. I’ve been on annual leave this week and things have gone a bit…haywire 😂. I’ll face the music on Saturday. Jaws are wired shut until then 😂 xx

Lucky we come back on the Tues from Cyprus so I'll have a week to make amends . It was our once in a lifetime holiday to Mexico and we are going for our fourth time lol. It's cheaper than Turkey and Tenerife for 5* . I love the Bahia Principe luxury Akamul, you can use all four hotels in the group ❤️

I’ll take what the result is and get back on it again. If I can lose 3 and 4lbs over the last while, I’m sure I can get back to good losses after this week. We go to Copenhagen on 11th April and then on 7th May, we fly out to Tenerife. We do have a few special things planned before each trip, and so I will definitely look forward to that.
