Hi friend so sorry for the late reply I feel dreadful, it’s hard being a RU-vid mega star 🤪,time is money and I haven’t got much of either!!, wow I didn’t know there was an American version of heath Robinson!! That’s awesome!!, I am working out a way to sell these adhaptors buuut I’m struggling to get the price down since I can’t machine the parts I need and have to use bits of existing tools 🤟🤟
Love it! I have an older corded MultiMaster that uses a pin mechanism that’s about the same as the Makita, but pre Starlock. I like the low vibration of the Makita according to reviews, but it would really really bug me to switch to Starlock and not at least get the fancy release mechanism that newer Fein tools have. I imagined doing exactly what you did, and was wondering if it would work. It does! Excellent! How did you get the length of the new pin measured accurately? The Makita pin looks to be pretty fixed in length - my Fein pin has about 6mm of grooves on it so you can use different thicknesses of blades. So it would obviously have a lot of tolerance for different lengths. But the Makita one looks like it is very limited in length tolerance.
Hi friend thanks for reaching out,I was very nervous about that pin especially having to get the welding done from someone iv just met,I measured the pin length with a good old ruler and did the simple maths and very luckily my new welder friend got the concept straight away and delivered 100%,in regards tolerances the measurement I took was exactly the original pin length with the star lock blade depth added and maybe half a mil more and the making the back of the Knurled bit of the makita a guide, made the the Allen key type old pin with the recessed washer the right length to make it all work within half a millimetre I’d say,the bottom of the new pin for this tool is very strange in regards it’s tooling and I imagine not that easy to replicate, that said iv just seen today another advert by another online company trying to manufacture and sell roughly the same thing as iv made,I tryd to get my head round if it was financially viable to make this adapter to sell and I came to a figure about £60 which would be way to expensive, thanks for watching and commenting sir🤟🤟
Yes my friend buuut they are to expensive to make financially I’m afraid,I get asked quite allot and then when I tell them it will be £75 it’s radio silence!!! 🤟🤟
Oh forgot to say, these adhaptors are the mark 1 versions, I’m onto mark 2 versions right now, the only other person who’s got a mark 2 is mr tools from tools and stuff, he’s given the adhaptor a good test on one of his videos 🤟🤟
Hi Daniel thanks for reaching out and sorry for the late reply busy busy busy!!,I did think about working out if I could sell these but the way I did it it would cost about £50 to make one so I don’t think it would work🤪, there is a version on the market that’s available that’s similar to mine from a company called Oslo tool company so maybe check them out 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK Yes I know but they are missing the point. Instead of using the modern Snap-in mechanism like your tool they are putting us back in medieval age with an Allan key fixation (at least for the newer Makita DTM52). However I have emailed them and pointed to your video to review their part However, thanks for coming back :-)
Hi Daniel, yes your right I designed my adhaptor to be tool less and ie no Allen key, using the pin to lock the blade in doesnt bother me even tho with the pin it’s not a truly tool less system!,some folks have moaned about that, I didn’t mention that you had to use an Allen key on the Oslo one because I didn’t want to come across as showing off 😉, that said I much prefer having my one than buying the Oslo one 🤟🤟
Oh hi friend thanks for reaching out!,thanks for that, you would have thought someone would have made a version of what I made to sell!, im sure loads of folks would buy one, I tryd to work out how much it would cost for me to manufacture a few to sell but it came to over a £100 so it wasn’t going to fly!!, oh well thanks for watching and commenting sir 🤟🤟
Errrr yes and no, iv had just about no interest in folks wanting one really maybe a couple, I can make you one dude but it won’t be cheap im afraid! I can’t seem to do them under £70!! Quite pricey, this video has my mark1 prototype!, mark2s are allot better 🤟🤟
I sure am my friend but there not cheap I’m afraid if your interested I can do one for you at £60, I really wish I could work out a way to make them cheaper but not at the moment 🤟🤟
Aber, Oslo Tool Company hätten etwas zimlich gleich... aber du mußte schnel sein. Den shop fertig wollen. (Entschuldegung für mein Schule Deutsch; es war 30 Jahr seit)
Or just buy starlock blades which have coming down in price ? ... The idea of starlock was to make it smoother the ois blades rattle and a stupid noisey
