Melissa has to be a special talent to have managed everything while Mike was working full time jobs over all the years. Couldn’t imagine the logistics involved in raising four children, running household all while caring for Hunter’s needs. She gets an A+

My wife and I have a 7yr old daughter. She’s autistic, non verbal, not potty trained, doesn’t eat. She’s our world. We have learned very well to adapt and live life differently to ensure she’s well taken care of and watched very well. Having an autistic child is such a blessing and gives you a new perspective on life.

@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans these days can't help but wonder what each new day will bring. Couple ideas for the cabin. Make a few faux beams for the ceiling. It would cover that "shipping" 2x4 that runs the length of interior side wall @ the ceiling. Stain darker it would also break up the wood ceiling giving depth, contrast and provide a great place for your lights or even add led strip lights. Leave the step ladder at home. Take a few boards with you next time. Make you a step stool a foot tall or however much you need and the length you want 8-10'?. Then your able to walk entire length with no up and down on a ladder. Need it up stairs? Just unscrew it and take it up stairs and put it back together. Wont take but about 5 minutes and your up and running. Step ladders are OK but rough on us, the older we get. Hope this makes sense. Just a suggestion, not you should.....lol.. Have a day! Thanks

The term for all of the acorns is called a “ Mast year “ A phenomenon that happens every few years to ensure that there is enough to grow more trees and still produce for predators of the acorns. 😊

Mike, my daughter has two boys that had challenges and what you are describing resonates with me. My wife and I were always there to help our grandchildren. It's not easy but you make the best of it and live life the best you can. That seed came in pretty thick given it was only 6 days ago. Have a great weekend :)

You ain't kidding on the acorns! I thought I cut the tree down that dropped them around my house. Haven't noticed any acorns since I cut that tree down 2 years ago and this year the ground is covered like I never seen before! Not sure what that means, hopefully in for some good winter storms!

Morning Mike, Pemberton NJ I haven’t noticed as many black walnut seeds i grew a few for my buddies property last year to see how it would go we plan on planting a ton more. He has been cutting out as many yellow pines as he can and replacing them with cedar and now black walnut

Y’all’s situation is normal, it’s just your normal. We have a daughter that’s been wheelchair bound her whole life….its our normal. Make the best of the hand your dealt, as you folks are certainly doing that. Love the channel and love that green in the fall nothing prettier than fall foliage 🍁 against the green meadow. My favorite time of year here in NW Oklahoma. The winter wheat is being planted and some is already greened up just like your meadow. Turns the brown fields green in a matter of days. 🤙🏼🇺🇸

Mike great video. Love your cabin & how it’s all coming together. You’ll come to realize probably sooner than later that you have 2 properties now & they are 2.5 hrs apart. By that I mean, your going to need 2 ladders etc. so cut to the chase & purchase a small step ladder, a larger step ladder & some work benches & leave them in W. Va. It will resolve the problem of having a senior moment. Ha. Ha. Keep the videos coming, I watch all of them. Are you going back to Butler for President Trumps rally? Love how your food plot is coming along. My thoughts on that is. Seeing how your family is all close by & your daughter is in college, I’m thinking the food plot will turn into the main house for you & your wife. To move the pond silt see if there are any old ground drive manure spreaders in your area. It wouldn't be fast but you could spread a couple loads every week on your food plots. Plus Levi could use it to spread the chicken coup bedding on the food plots as well. As for the acorns a old tail I heard was when trees are stressed the more seeds they will produce in case they don't survive there is plenty of seed to start the next generation.

My grandparents would say when there was a heavy crop of acorns, walnuts, chestnuts and fruits we would have a hard winter. Don't know if that is a indication...only time will tell. The pond,food plot and cabin are looking great.

When winter grains are grazed, the stand actually gets thicker. The grazing is actually beneficial. You actually should use fewer seed if the stand will be grazed. A possible exception is if the ground is too soft and the grazing animals hooves sink too deep and damage the roots of the seedlings. I have never observed this with deer. When you have a good stand, adding seed can only hurt, both your wallet and your stand. Geese do pull up the seedlings and can harm the stand, but you have never shown any pictures of geese.

I had wondered about the trailer but figured you would have used it if it was feasible. About the acorns. If plants/trees experience distress some of them prioritize procreation over growth. I suspect that plays a role in the abundance of acorns.

Winter rye grass is great, easy to sprout, and maintain. Be prepared. Central Texas twice in 2 years lost power for several days in a deep freeze....solar cells, solar rechargeable lights, solar rechargeable flashlights, cell phone external power source, and propane stove - outdoor cooking only due carbon monoxide - are simple things to get you through...

I agree about you being able to use a tractor of that size with your dump trailer. I have about the same size set up and basically only use that size tractor to put my trailer away in my barn where precise maneuverability is king and that would only be unloaded.

Two things, One I have suggested twice you put your borrow pit on the high side of the new road, is that a good idea?Also you should plan yourself a week at the cabin all by yourself. It would be good for you and you would get a lot done. I sure you could plan it with all the family you have. Another thing I sent you photos of a licence plate clock and a licence plate American flag in 2020. Do you still have the photos and will you make them?

A lot of speculation on the heavy acorn production - most likely a stress response and ensuring continuation of the species. Should be some positive numbers of squirrels, deer and turkeys next spring. It is wonderful that the Morgan family is in position to react to priorities and to be flexible enough to adjust to day to day events.
