Aunt Galya is an amazing woman. Her house is spotlessly clean; she makes her own bread, jam, and more; she takes good care of her animals and has a nice garden; she's always happy, is a wonderful hostess, and can even touch the ground at age 70. Her embroidery is beautiful. She's blessed that her TV isn't working now. Big hugs for her from Seattle.

I'm almost as old as Aunt Galya and find it amazing how different people live. I prefer the simple life like Galya, large gardens, cows, chickens and quiet countryside. My feeble mind can't imagine wanting to live any other way no matter how much wealth I might have. I often wonder what % people in the world would be happy living this way as contrast to flashing lights, noisy highways and pre-processed food containing chemicals I can't pronounce.

@@RussianPlus I think the main cause of this war was the feeling of mutual hatred ( Russian & Ukrainian ultra nationalism) which was fanned by some internal and external forces of both sides with the connivance of their business partners and military strategists for their political and commercial interests.Media proven to be their strongest weapon. The only way to put an end to this conspired conflict which has been going on for the last decade and a half is by eliminating the negative feeling of mutual hatred & distrust( quite a hard task at this juncture) and the conspirators, war mongers that have fanned it. Without this solution, everything else is a temporary solution with which war can be postphoned or avoided for a while but cannot be ended. My Russian family immigrated through the Port of Galveston Texas. I didn’t even know people came through Texas. My Great- Grandfather worked at the port for a year before he could bring his wife and children. Then they went to Detroit for work for a very short time. Then moved to Los Angeles in the early 1920s. He was a baker 🙂

I could almost smell and taste the Bread and most of the food you guy's enjoyed. Your Aunt is spot on your neighbours would have surplus of something and you would have something they were short of and you just looked after each other. Thank You all for the memories.

My mom passed a few years back and recently I had a memory of her making fresh bread. So I have been making my own every week instead of getting it from the store. It just taste so much better and I'm not even a big bread person. I miss a lot of the older meals my family had growing up that seems less and less folks cook. One thing I'm glad was when I was little mom taught me how to cook too so I would never have to depend on some one else to cook for me (or starve while single)...lol

"Society is evolving, but people are still trying to make sense of today's reality with the use of outdated but familiar concepts, manipulations and strategies. We are always in captivity to concepts and the images they give birth to, regardless of whether these concepts are suitable for us or not. A person is liberated only when he himself gives birth to new concepts and moves forward, developing his concepts to comprehend today's world." - Fedor Shkrudnev (article "Meaning" July 4, 2022)

I long for the days where our towns are self-sustaining like we were in the old days. These "sanctions" have done way more to hurt Americans than Russians. At least that's what I'm seeing from channels like yours. Anyway, new subscriber. Thank you so much for sharing. P.S. I grew up in the country on a farm & you are self sufficient, because you have your own garden, you have chickens, cows & you can gather wild mushrooms, asparagus, elederberries & chokecherries. You can make jam with the berries. Bake your own bread. The only thing we bought at the grocery store was can soup, pasta, ice cream & drinks. I grew up in a state (Minnesota) that had the best soil. As an adult I live in a state (Wisconsin )where you can grow a garden but the vegs & fruit are not as big or taste as good. If you live like this you work a lot. I own the farm with my brothers my parents left in a trust for us so we could have family reunions & vacations there. We just had a family reunion in June. It is nice for the younger generation to see & spend time on a farm. My brothers have gardens at the farm. We rent the land out .Which pays the taxes.🇺🇸🦋🍓🍅🥕🥔🌶🍄🍉🌽🍎🍒🍗🥓🍳🌹🌼 Pamela

I want to cry right now. My family is Russian/Eastern European and grew up on a farm in USA. Seeing all the old wood and countryside brings back memories. Lately, I have been seeing a lot of news on how Russian soldiers are washing potatoes in toilets and stuff. Its always the "look at how poor Russia is." Trying to paint Russians as primitive barbarians or something. It's so impersonal. So upsetting really. You look at the floors and roofing and people see poverty. But when you live with this stuff, you see nothing of the sort. Could things be better? No. Could it be more convenient? Of course. Thank you for sharing

Thanks, Slava for this fascinating, uplifting and heartwarming video. Your aunt is such an industrious woman with great values and common sense. Unfortunately, people like her are not so prevalent in our world today. Many people could learn so much from her just by observing her everyday lifestyle. By the way, I love dill. I have a recipe that a friend from Germany gave me for cooking a pork tenderloin. It uses fresh dill, onions, paprika and white wine. It is so delicious 😋. It is great to have some spaezle as a side dish with it. Dill pickles and dill relish are also quite tasty. Sanctions seem to hurt the common people more than any government or their leaders. All I can do is pray for understanding and peace for all people everywhere. I realize that is an "impossible dream" but we must always strive for a world where everyone can live their lives in peace. Take care and have a safe, healthy and happy month of July. 👍🤗❤️🙏🌎

I enjoyed this video and seeing your family and how your aunt lives. I feel there are good and kind people all over the world. Beautiful peaceful and clean countryside around dear Auntie's house. She reminds me so much of my dear departed Grandmother. I first noticed the hands that have known lots of work. I recall watching Grandma milking cows when I was young. Morning and night, milk and then crank the cream separator to store the cream for sale to the processor. Cream cheques bought the sugar and other non farm raised groceries. Grandma had hands of a man and could do the finest crochet stitches imaginable. A simple life, filled with hard work for survival. Somehow though people were content at days end. How things have changed.
