Louis Burton, the skipper of the IMOCA "Bureau Vallée", worked in a submarine during the summer of 2021 to achieve with his team rudders with load-bearing plane, which allows the boat to achieve a stabilized flight of the IMOCA. AWESOME!
@@GoodBoats From internet: "IMOCA 60 foils start working at 13-14 knots, lifting the hull out of the water as we accelerate through to 18 knots, up to top speeds of 35+ knots". So, seems the hull can go in "flight mode" above 18 knots of speed (of course depending also on sea state), and up to top speeds of 35-38 knots. I don"t think here we are seeing a top speed run inshore, so I still think she is in the 2x range, althoug maybe in tbe upper 20s more than in the low 20s
