I’m in aviation; specifically aircraft structures. That laser corrosion remover would be excellent if it works on aluminum. We work with a lot of aging aircrafts & are frequently dealing with corrosion.
@jameslester4474
@jameslester4474 Год назад
Except for the fact that the Laser is basically BURNING the corrosion off, which would destroy the temper of Aluminum structures and in doing so cause embrittlement as measured by the aluminums conductivity. In short, using this would make the structure Crack, or soften the aluminum, exponentially decreasing it's fatigue life !
@billtaylor2050
@billtaylor2050 11 месяцев назад
Lasers are already used for surface hardening of aluminium alloys, simpler than shot peening, so I think the metallurgical effects can be managed.

You really should talk about costs when talking about technology. Those laser rust removers are massively expensive. The 2000 watt systems are upwards of $60,000. Some of the cheapest units that will barely do anything are about $4,500. This is not a technology for the faint of heart

The jack that you showed did you pump up…. I have 4 of those. They work wonderful. I was able to move a 50 gallon fish tank and it’s stand. I started with nailing and screwing a Lip on its side just so I can get it up high enough that I can slip it underneath. That’s why I needed two of them. It would’ve been nice to have 6 pumps. But I managed was just the 4. The 50 gallon tank was half full of water and I was terrified of a tipping over.

Smart Box, hmmm cutting ring comes off the box after cutting the hole. All the “smart boxes” come with the cutting ring along with the cost associated for it and apparently is just thrown away since all the smart boxes have them. I have a great idea, why not have a drill with a hole saw the size needed to make a hole for a, oh I don’t know maybe a dumb box. Less material needed, less cost for the product and less steps required to install a dumb box. Sounds like the smart box is made for dummies.
