No shit in ‘03 I visited japan and went to Gunma. Was on Mt Akagi and we stopped on the main road and was in parking lot and heard something off in the distance. Lol no joke this white 86 busted a drift on a side road and then flipped around blasted back down and repeated for 10 minutes. Insane.
It's a unique sound, you could guess in a second it was the 86, also it's amazing how precise the sound in initial D was, they captured exactly how it was supposed to sound in every situation
The ae86 sounds like when you sneak into your beekeeper neighbors backyard to get some of that honey and then you find out, HES NOT RAISING BEES, THEY'RE CHAINSAS, AND THEY ARE ANGRY!
1zz is evolution of 4age .Just same as 4age but little faster 2zz is nothing but overrated crap ,that is harder to modify when it comes to turbo builds .Block and crankshaft are better in 1zz.99% celica turbo builds that you gonna see are GT (1zz) . And yeah if 2zz is that good? Why it isn't stock in MR-S . Just look even at the torque . 1zz is even better in that field .GT celica is lighter too . So if you like track or touge , go with 1zz GT . If you like to be "Straight road racing" guy go with 2zz , even if it's not much faster ,like 1 sec . I'm not even triggered or anything , because I typed all this .I'am just sick of illiterate 'car' people
@@tapatap8005 You actually couldn't be wrong on so many levels, I have a Toyota Celica vvti (1zz) and a Toyota Celica GT VVTLI (2zz) - (top UK spec) and the difference between the two cars is mind boggling, with my 2zz pushing close to 200 bhp it's in a completely different league on its own compared to my 1zz, heck it's as fast as anything on the road, it can keep up with my mates 350z it's that good. You just can't compare the two, the difference is chalk and cheese. You won't know what I'm talking about unless you experience the two models.

4age engines never had VVT, they had t-vis witch is a little valve at the bottom of the air manifold that opens at 4.200 rpm, Toyota did this to improve low end torque since the 4age isn’t very powerful, search it on google for more info
Actually, Toyota retired T-VIS in 1989 with the introduction of the smallport (Red Top). Also, 4AGE *did* have VVT. Since 1991. That's the 20 valve head version.
DJ Kowalski don’t call engines by their valve cover colors, it’s confusing, either way if that 86 still has the original 4age it should have tvis and not vvti, I know I’ve been imprecise but I meant the 86’s 4age
