Zhu Ting (Chinese: 朱婷; pinyin: Zhū Tíng; born 29 November 1994) is a Chinese professional female volleyball player.[1] She is the Outside Hitter and Captain of the Chinese women's volleyball national team,[2] and currently plays for Turkish club Vakıfbank Istanbul.
She is the gold medalist of 2016 Olympic Games and 2015 World Cup. Zhu has been awarded 12 MVP awards at all levels of competition since her debut in 2011, including the MVP award of Rio Olympic Games 2016. She is widely regarded as one of the best and most decorated indoor volleyball players of all time. She is also the highest paid professional volleyball player in the world, male or female, as of the 2018-2019 season.
Personal life
Zhu Ting was born to a rural family in Henan Province. She has four sisters (two older sisters and two younger sisters) and her parents do not have any sports backgrounds.
In 2007, 13 year-old Zhu, who was 1.7m tall then, was sent to a sports training school by her high school physical education teacher. In 2008, she started professional volleyball training in the Henan Province sports school.

She can see her blockers incredibly well and adjust her hits accordingly. I find her shots are not as predictable which makes teams hard to defend for the first time let along the second time which makes her hitting percent very high and consistent in most matches.

The name is Zhu Ting, for East Asian countries like China, Korea and Japan, family name comes first, like Hungary. Calling her Ting Zhu is like calling Obama Barack, or Trump Donald.

For those saying Boskovic & Egonu is better, you cant compare them. Zhu is an OH while the other two are OPP. Zhu also makes less errors & is very strong in all aspects of the game. One thing is that she doesnt succumb to pressure. Instead thats where she shines. In this match, Egonu was surely a monster but she got silent after China caught up & went cold.

yes, unlike boskovic who is high level but tends to commit more errors sometimes in crucial plays.

Zhu Ting is an amazing OH. She also is a great blocker and server. Boscovich and Egonu are strong attackers and servers too, but are less brilliant than Zhu Ting. They can't control their strong attack that leads to errors most of the time.

Usually women’s physical power peak around 21-22, men at 24-25. Rio 2016 people witnessed Zhu Ting’s power. But Tokyo 2020 will be Boskovic and Egonu’s show time. Zhu Ting physically is on a declining path, that’s the inevitable. She can’t compete with Boskovic or Egonu on raw strength at Tokyo 2020, but she still has skill and experience and enough strength to score at key moments

@@yuxuan130411 Strength alone doesn't win games. Egonu for example is definitely very strong. She scored 39 in this match but had 19 errors as well. China adjusted to Egonu's powerful serves. you need skills as well. And Egonu and Boscovic occupy OPP, Zhu is OH. this is teamwork too. You habe 5 other players that can win the game.

Ellie Geordana Zhu Ting may be a better all around player as of now. But let’s not forget Zhu Ting is first of all a spiker. Here is the statistics from 2018 world championship best spiker( Italy and Serbia are not at World Cup 2019, so 2018 world championship was a better benchmark): 1. Boskovic 53.66%, 2. Sylla 49.65% 3.Egonu 48.85% 4. Sloetjies 47.84% 5.Mihajlovic 47.28% 6. Zhu Ting 45.50%. Team Italy and team Serbia both have TWO players spiking at a higher success rate than Zhu Ting. Their fire power will be way ahead of team China in Tokyo 2020!
