People say "this line is bad because the joints stick out!" But I think they fail to understand that joints not being shown often is a limitation on figures and that's why I love this line is because if u want the most comic of comic poses this is the figures u want.
That wired cape looks hella awesome on this figure! I agree with you on the revoltech capes, just odd configurations. P.S. the Gus segments get me everytime lol
Am i the only one really liking the cap? For me this line is really focus on posing. No Yamaguchi is in my shelf without a crazy dynamic pose and that's why a buy them. If i want a classic batman with a "clean" look I'll take a mafex or s.h figuarts or a horrible dc matel figure.
But the cape has nothing to do with wanting a Batman that can do crazy poses. I do the same with all of my Yamaguchi figures. It's more about the frustration of having another figure on the back of the figure you want. I have Batman crouched down and perched like no other Batman on my shelf can even do, and it's complemented by the cloth cape, not a cape that will take up half the shelf just trying to lie right. That's not me taking away from you liking the cape though, I'm glad you do.
Nice review buddy! And man... you should see my comment section cause I ripped on revoltechs cape in my review on this figure lol. Some people love their capes while others don’t, at all. Everyone has their preferences. I swapped mine with a wired cloth cape too and the figure is a zillion times better
MutuallySustainedHateBoner Inc lol that’s funny... I don’t recall mentioning that once in my review, that I have capes for sale... 🤔 If you don’t like my content and are annoyed by it, why are you watching it lol it’s simple enough to just not watch, ya know 🤦♂️
marco flores definitely!! Makes the figure a zillion times better. Never liked the plastic articulated capes or the rubbery capes, always like a wired cloth cape on a figure
the art on the inlay: Dc Convergence Batman Gotham by Gaslight vs. the Shazam family, that middle frame is from new 52 justice league, and on the left is batman hush.
Robo, fantastic review! What I like the most about your review is that you showed us the cape, you talked about seeing where it could be cool but at the end of the day admitted you didn't want to use it and didn't like it. Nothing wrong with that at all! Great job.
That second one was unintentional, but dang did it work out. May not be 2 Weeklys, may be one long one, I've got a lot of stuff written down. Thanks man!
@@TheFwoosh Late but I was rewatching this review and googled and found the source I think - #4 in screenrant.com/batman-butler-alfred-wtf-offensive-weird/
Very nice figure,I'm so glad ur able to switch the frowning face out cause that made up my mind on buying this figure.I just started collecting Revoltech so I picked up Carnage,Venom,Deadpool,Predator & Wolverine so im pretty impressed so far. I just subscribed today! Great video
I really appreciate what Yamaguchi is trying to do with this line and I've been in the comments section eloquently "defending" Venom & Captain America Revos, which are the best releases imo. I even think Spider-Gwen is decent, Deadpool is fine and Magneto can look just like a comic in certain poses...but the thing about this line is that is VERY hit & miss. While I prefer DC over Marvel characters, I freaking hate this Batman...I think the segmentation looks a lot weirder than previous releases, the whole head is weird, the symbol is warped and don't get me started on that cape. However, the promo pics for Deathstroke (a character I don't care for at all) look freaking amazing so it gives me hope that MAYBE a good Flash, Superman or Green Lantern are not impossible. But I think this could've sell a LOT more if it was better executed.
OMG, when you put on that cloth cape, it was like night and day. With the stock cape, he looked like his cape was completely torn up and made of rugs. Or as if he was trying to use a helicopter. But with that 3rd party cape, he just came to live. And good that he gets on so well with Gus.
I really dont like these revoltech figures specially those plastic Capes are horrible, but to each his own. I did however see Daredevil 19 is making and selling some wired cloth capes (different style of batman capes and I believe he's planning on doing other characters as well) anyway I don't if they're good or not I just saw his video and wanted to pass on the info if it helps anyone.
Nyz..review...got mine recently..and loving it as it is...lets just say i enjoy possing my toys 😊 i have patience for that😄...though i have a cloth cape on hand, but i think i wont be putting it anytime soon...looking forward on your next review an fwoosh weekly😊
Niiiiiiceeeeee, cloth capes for the win. Are you gonna do a bit of fwoosh update on this figure robo? I would very much like to see an update on this figures modification. Cool review as always dude :)
If I end up doing anything I'll give a go at showing it. But really, putting the cloth cape on there was a big enough upgrade to make me feel like it doesn't need much more.
I actually skipped on any and all JL stuff, both MAFEX and SHF. Same with most Avengers. Just getting to be a little repetitive and honestly, there is just so much out there I can't keep up. But dang if those MAFEX figures don't look good though.
@@TheFwoosh Yeah I feel you man, and our wallets do too. There are just so many coming out of the woodwork. But really, if you get the chance at the tactical suit scoop it up. Probably the best 6 inch Batman figure out there.
@@TheFwoosh some of the figures I really like but most of them just annoy me to know end. It's like, I like the Wolverine so I had to get the Magneto, I love the Carnage so I have to have the Venom, I love how that Deathstroke is looking so I didn't want to pass on Batman, which I think looks good but that cape is already giving me nightmares and I don't even have him in hand yet, and so on. You know how that collector life be.
The art on the inside is from Justice League new 52 issue 1 drawn by Jim Lee. He is my favorite artist. I would love to get this figure but it's a bit out of my price range
This figure is awesome. I wonder if revoltech see these type of review videos and think "huh maybe we should reconsider wired clothe capes for our next figures". Lol
I just like the way you do your reviews. Doesn't matter what figure you do. But I would like to ask who and where is Gus from. New to collect couple of years in, bit collected comics 47+ years. Thank you love your reviews.
Gus was mostly me making fun of the Range Trooper during a Weekly when it was announced, coming up with a backstory and just rambling about it. It stuck. He's kind of the mascot for the channel, a mix of a lot of people I grew up around and my own inner hillbilly.
Who knows some good 3rd party cape customizes? Im getting this figure soon and I really want to check out what options are out there for bendy wire capes. Thanks and awesome review Robo!
the included cape is sculpted to resemble Sharp comic-book line art, I have never seen such a theatrically-striking "Solid-yet-posable" plastic cape. its part of the playability, once you get it into an appreciable pose, you can appreciate it. the way you "connected the dots" didn't give it justice and was in fact awkward, forces you to be more creative then you normally are, its like you said; its kind of a puzzle, it adds playability but some people just want it posed right out of the box, have to respect Yamaguchi, imagine a Spawn figure with this kind of cape? it would be fuckin amazing! also really nice '3rd party' cape, Wired capes should also be more common! but yeah the sculpt on this figure is insanely creative! but the best part for me is actually the cape looking so sharp and menacing, & the way it layers over itself is really fascinating, posable art at its finest!
AY line is awesome for people that like to do some small mods to their figures. For people that want to keep their figure mint, no mods, no small changes - its not so great. For example - i hate those dual ball small joint shoulders, i buy spare revo joints just to switch them whenever i can. for example - Deadpool, Carnage and Spider-Man, you can change the dual shoulder joint for a bigger single ball joint [the medium size one, like the ones in Carnage knee/elbow] and you keep all the articulation plus you get way better esthetics when you pose your figs. Wolverine is the only one that cant get this exact mod due to the fact he have bulkier shoulders but i was still able to get better dual ball joints than the vanilla ones [i got some medium + small dual joints]. Those are small but fun mods to make and gives AY figs awesome new options to better pose them. so for all people that love to mod their figs a lil bit - this is the perfect line =) Here is a small example of a Carnage mods i did : facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1511386139005528&l=e974e1c4fd I switched the shoulder joints for single ball medium size one and switched his feet joints for a slightly more flexible dual disk small black joints [since i dont have those in red, but black still fits in just fine on this one =)]
It’s a good thing you’re not sensitive about your love/hate relationship with this line, Robo, lol! 😜 I totally agree that the capes are a mess! The aesthetics of this line are usually a little too “jointy” for me, but damn, that Psylocke coming out looks good!👍🏻
Great review ever! Like your video man. Can I ask where do you get the cloth cape? I like both style of this batman. I am thinking should i get 2 of them with different cape.
Is that a cape or fodder??? Definitely a "good" attempt at an articulated cape but ultimately a waste of plastic IMO. That custom cape really makes it an amazing amazing yamaguchi figure. (Btw: What kind of mushrooms?)
I love pickles but don’t really like fried pickles. I don’t love the Amazing Yamaguchi line but this Batman as a figure sans the cape plus the cloth cape looks pretty rad.
That revoltech cape ain't good by any means, they should retire it, and opt for cloth cape with multiple wires. If the figure had same cloth cape I might have gotten the figure tbh.
I received mine yesterday, unboxed, and upon assembling the cape, I quickly disassemble & put him back in the box until I got time to either make or buy a cloth cape.
I LOVE the cape it looks so bad ass, I don’t even like anime like that but DAMN! it’s such an interesting take on a cape that works really well if you can pose it to look good, but falls flat sometimes and just looks like stuff “hanging off of him”😂. I also think that it’s a really cool way to solve the action figure cape problem, the wires look phenomenal but I bet it also has some pitfalls, I think that the plastic cape also matches the figure a bit more but that makes sense
Convenient how sharp the included cape, chunks of cape, (whatever they are) are, so when you’re frustrated enough and throw em, they’ll stick in the wall like throwing stars, you get a little satisfaction out of it lol
I don't have this line at all. It's completely different than every other line on the market but oh my goodness. That crazy cape with all of it's segmented assorted pieces is not my style either. Their capes detract from the rest of the figure to my eye. Having said that Batman is second to the Wolverine figure
At this point I’m so used to having figures with the standard of 5 points of articulation. All of the articulation on this figure (and most import figures) gets me so confused. I lost track a couple of times and I had to go back and watch that bit again. I’m still not used to seeing that much articulation. Not to mention the amount of accessories too. I often buy figures that have one or two accessories, sometimes none at all. But in a weird way I actually prefer that because I don’t have to decide which accessories to use.
Robo I'm not even going to lie you could review an articulated turd and the part I'm still looking most forward to is the gust segment keep up the awesome work brother.
HAHAHA When you said "Well why did you buy the figure?" The instantaneous reaction from my mind was you with your beef boss voice saying "cuz I wanted to mother f*****!" HAHAHA I've seen this figure before and the one thing I did not like about it was that cape. But we all collect what we like. Half of these animation figures I see you talk about I have no idea who they are or what they are from. But I enjoy watching the videos cuz I find you to be fun. Don't let him bring you down robo. As they say, they are haters just trying to hate..
Winning lottery numbers lulz Love the Batman voice not bad lol. I am crying from laughing so hard watching the cape segment. Custom cape definately the way to go fo sure it instantly frees up the figure to be light on its feet and do what it’s meant to do which is create dynamic poses. The Revo cape takes up too much shelf space anyways.
i poor all the guy who can't creative the cape and they said the cape is shit. actually the cape is the selling point if u are creative guy there are endless possibility. i want to show my pose but i can't pls google revoltech batman pose and try it.
I'll say it for you...that cape is baaaaad! It looks like a Dracula Batman cape or even something for a superhero zombie, it looks even worse than the one that came with Magneto which I wouldn't have thought was even possible.
I mean Im not a real fan of this line but ill watch your videos because youre an awesome dude who reviews an rambles on about figures, gotta show my support
I dont get why they didnt used some great features from previous figures. Floating belt like wolverine one, articulated knee pad, dual ball joint torso like carnage ones. Those are major things i hoped they use on that bats. I mean the new carnage torso was outstanding. Float belt would be so much better. Articulated knee pad could help a lot in posing.
I sometimes imagine how awesome Venom could have been if he had this awesome carnage abs joint. I hope mafex Venom will bring ultimate justice to this character. I mean i do like tke kayo venom, but this ab joint is a misunderstanding.
Great review as always. I love the professional photos on the box with the cape, they look awesome, but I know that I couldn't be bothered to mess with that thing every time, so I'm with you on the cloth cape. Actually, and maybe it's just the lighting? It's the face that looks off to me, like there's shading on the rest of the figure but the chin/mouth looks one single flesh colour? Maybe the face printing is spoiling me?
Hey, is the Fwoosh music supposed to be playing towards the end while you're still talking? I kinda hope you don't continue doing that, I like how chill your reviews kinda feel and the music during your talking kinda offsets that.
I've been waiting to see this review since this figured was announced. I'm so glad you found a cloth cape. That's exactly the kind of cape I wanted. Now I can buy this figure.
Happy to see they didn’t mess up the shoulders like on some of the other. My favorite from the line is Wolverine, but can’t justify the price, would def pick one up on sale.
