Sister it hits us at the heart I'm African American and I yearn and crave Africa and tribal culture....this reminds me of the step shows we so in black culture
@@LJLee-gt9uw - With the utmost respect, how self-define yourself as an African-American but don't even consider that Africa is a continent with over a billion people. These African nation states even within their own states have different tribes/clans with different languages and different tribal interests. So called Black Culture isn't monolithic and very American. I have South African relatives that listen to American music, movies, follow some American fashion, eat American food but in no way do they relate to Americans except in the most superficial and abstract ways.
@@jjohanesson9139 of course I'm not American in the white sense in terms of the full benefits of America but I'm genetically and historically African. We as African Americans struggle with this double identity as W.E. B dubois wrote about....so we cannot hate america and say we are African and at the same time we cannot love america and hate Africa. Like Malcolm x said, "you cannot hate the roots of the tree and not hate the tree" ....so yes we say African American in the sense that yes I have an American passport legally...but there are bits and pieces of African culture in African American culture.. historically and culturally anytime black Americans start making any kind of progress towards African understanding or live a traditional life it's shot down ....so hedonism, overeating, drugs, is what is promoted
The deep connection and love I feel when I listen to zulu music eh! 🎶 zulu is definitely my tribe before massai. Those who know of ancestral mourning will understand.
Yes, I agree. I'm of Jamaican descent and the connection I feel to the Zulu people is so strong. I would love to visit at least once in my life. If the connection is this strong via a screen, real life would bring me to my knees.
I cried watching this. Oh how I felt so compelled to sing along. How our culture was washed away and stolen from us. I know deep down we WILL restore our motherland again. We will be one . We will be together and the strength that will come will not be broken again.
Don't be treacherous, you you have a double loyalty then fucking leave. The white race gave you ample opportunity to do such a thing, e.g Liberia. You guy's are fucking schizophrenic, do you want to be treated as individuals as MLK said or treated as a distinct group?
@@yaya722334455 Why can't I just watch the African music without hearing about black nationalism. I LOVE AFRICANS, AFRICAN CULTURE AND THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Also it doesn't seem like it can be condensed into a couple minutes like the haka, the Zulu variant seems more like a practical workout for war that increases your endurance rather than a couple minutes show of force and intimidation
I m from Pakistan/Punjab/Rawalpindi/gujarkhan I apologize to Zulu people+Zulu king for this that many of over people who was in British army faight with Zulu people it is shame for us and over area and we are who defeated Zulu army British never defeat Zulu over old soldier tell us I again apologies to Zulu people
The Zulu warriors didn't fear rifles, they didn't fear *DEATH!* Their bravery rings through the ages as surely as their war cries struck fear in their enemies
Most young have lost their way. Caught up in disrespect for self and total disregard for another. I hate the extent of deterioration of regard for elders in many of the black south african people. I do appreciate those who still do keep their HOME teachings. Those who, despite their learnedness, have still bravely retained humility in order to advance livelihoods. We must not fool ourselves . Respect is the carrying substance of a culture. Loose that , and the worth of any practice is nil. Cherish thyself wherever you are. Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu. Be humane, for your own embrace by another human SPHONGO SENYATHI, uMagibekela.
This is why i dont like it here in the US. I wish there weren't planes or ships. I want culture and tribes to be untouched or tainted to carry on. Everyones the same here just different shades. Very few of us look up different videos or songs like this. The rest follow the crowd and glorify whoever's on the screen that month. I hope you all have a great and happy future
We grew up longing to live in the US or Europe. I lived in the UK for two years and originally from south africa After traveling I realized that I'm very content with our different cultures. We still embrace our cultures till this day. It honestly feels good You should consider visiting any african country. Maybe South Africa. We are very accommodating
Modern Zulu have modern things too. They have their traditional equipment for celebrations and performances to help the economy with tourists, a version of their shields made with modern SWAT technology, as well as melee options of old European cultures, this is just for trying it out, recreation and looking cool, and they have cars for getting around. Also they have modern guns incase they get into an actual fight. Usually against either terrorists or brigands.
Quick trivia: A team of European nuclear physicists vs the Zulu band of warriors (Ibutho lempi) who would win? Lesson of the day: It isn't the biggest scariest looking and violent party that wins the battle but the most cunning. A classic case of brawn vs brains😊
If you change your trivia and say ok give everyone unlimited funding and materials and equipment then yea ok the smart guys wins. At that point that's a ridiculous argument to make though
africa had endured hundreds and hundreds of years of colonialism and corporatism, its time they take power, take leadership and turn africa into the next great power (sadly corporatists still exploit africa, nice old capitalism hm?)
