Just out of curiosity, if you have any experience with the original big HomePod, how does the speaker on the Astro compare to the original HomePod? Thinking about having him follow me around and play music. 🤣
I love making video calls while I'm at work and it can go to different rooms,& when it delivers things to my husband lol like astro give husband the baby wipes
I’ve had it for about a week, doesn’t do much. Takes a drink, roams the 1st floor of the house, follows you when asked… that’s it. I went out of town and viewed the place while away, same thing I can do with my inside cameras. Yes, it’s able to move so you don’t miss angles the fixed cameras miss but overall not worth the $1,000. My friends & family got a kick out of it as novelty though.

It's the best robot you can get today. Need ring to make him patrol when I'm home or away mode. I like how Astor will find you and show your reminder. And awesome when you tell Astor to find you.
@@RyanYu just noticed when you set a reminder through he will find you and show you the reminde on the screen. Family members keep using "come here" and "find NAME" to bring astro back and forth. I hope amazon releases a roaming mode where he just explores the house randomly or at set times like a real dog.
If you know what you’re doing, you can create your own SDK’s to make Astro do almost anything. Including bypass the need for a $20 a month subscription for the security features.
Thank you for the review. I have a few questions: 1. Can Echo Show video call Astro, or just view Astro's camera? Like if I'm downstairs doing the dishes and want to see what my kid is doing upstairs. 2. Can Google Nest Displays show Astro's camera?
Virtual security guard (remote monitoring with astro) for small business. Astro at home (helps take care of old people by recognizing up to 10 caregivers, medication reminders and status of the old person) interactions with pets including giving them treats remotely. That’s some of the things it’s doing right now. Supposedly the ai is getting better to recognize more objects in your home and what they do. The point being though is that it already does a lot more compared to when it was announced.
