This is the unboxing and review of Amazon's Bleecker bat system for the Potter's wheel. It consists of a 12" round bat adapter along with 6 removable square inserts for throwing pottery. It looks like Amazon has a few different types of these bats systems, this particular one is less expensive then the others. Let's see how this batt performs and if the quality is there at a cheaper price.
I'm very excited about this new purchase because I have never used a bat system like this before. Starting off I did have a few issues with the square inserts rattling, as I continued to use this product the rattling was no longer a concern. Piften these systems are made to be a little loose at first and it is suggested that you use a couple of small balls of clay underneath the square to level and stick it down. As it gets used over time, the inserts swell a little bit and will fit without any additional clay.

Thanks so much for the advice. I've been putting them to good use and now they are fitting much better! Still happy I made the purchase. Great product for the price. Happy potting.

I received mine today and was worried that the inserts not fitting snugly would make it useless. I was going to return it but after watching your video I decided to give it a go. I spounged down the whole thing including the eddges of the inserts and it worked great straight away! Thank you!

Some of these can be used with tiles that you can get from Lowes on the cheap. Outpost Pottery makes an adapter for $27.

I love mine. I have 3 dozen and have used them for several years. I can throw 36 pieces at a time. I dont wire them until next morning. No warped mugs lifting them off. I wouldnt use anything else.

Since making this review I have purchased 20+ more inserts! I now use a bat matt religiously with all my bats including this system, but honestly not necessary. No warping and still going strong!

im considering getting these and am wondering has it warped at all since you started using them? i know sitting water can mess with the insert’s fit so im wondering how easy it is to avoid that!
