Rudy was right initially with the wrapping but we all though that. He still dumps on it because he can't get it easily which means he can't pump it to his patrons.
@@CrosswaIk 💯💯💯 they have not been perfect but for not even being a year in idk how you can’t be at least optimistic with their performance thus far. That’s why I don’t get the endless hate.
Lol! I heard about the dump on Amazon and immediately went there to get some cheap boxes but to my surprise they were the price they normally are 🤷♂️ go figure 🙄
Iong time Rudy fan but he made it dirty with Metazoo... I don't like his behavior in the last couple of years. every day he gets less expert and more influencer. shady
That is awesome to hear - I saw they even had a Mickey for sale there :D If it ever comes out that Rudy has been sitting on Lorcana, I might lose all hope in him.
As someone who has been interested in learning lorcana for a while, that sale was definitely a great entry point, picked up a couple of boxes and now am learning to play alongside my significant other. Not quite sure where locals are in my area but will definitely seek them out once we both familiarize ourselves with the mechanics and the cards we currently have!
@@nicholascodallos2154 that is amazing to hear, Lorcana is a great game and was my introduction back into TCG’s. Best of much why your pulls and finding some local organized play!
It's kind of sad that people are throwing insults about TCG. Like you, I'm not into MTG, still I acknowledge it's one of the major TCG's and successful. If you follow One Piece, reprints are coming and some investors are getting nervous too. The key is the player base imo.
Absolutely - the TCG space is not a zero some game, everybody can eat, and none of the brands have the opportunity to grow the entire industry like Lorcana does.
Is there a breakdown of the EV calculations? Those numbers all look to be way high. I did a rough estimate of Inklands and it should be around $50 unless I'm missing something.
@@CardboardKingdom The numbers just looked high, one of our group calculated EV of 1st chapter boxes right after the big spike in enchanteds (Elsa around $1200 for reference) as we like to lottery hunt and was around $150ish I think but a big portion of it being the enchanted slot. Prices have since dropped. Alternatively, if you pull the best of each rarity in an Inklands box - top 4 legendaries (I think fair to assume average was about 4 legendary/box), top Super Rares and top Rares - you get about $120 in TCG market, and the enchanted EV per box should be around $20, so $115 EV seems very high.
@@silverwolf6866 it’s in reference to a video I made the day prior, Rudy from Alpha Investments put out a doomsday video on Lorcana. This was just a sarcastic rebuttal 😃
@@geoffnaggie961 they fluctuate and are very close to the price per box, some even looking like a break even or +EV depending on your cost basis. Very healthy range. P
@@CardboardKingdom my cost basis is as low as can be, but what is glossed over is EV is a direct reflection of demand - typically because of the Competitive player base. Otherwise what what you have is a Pokemon situation where every set the cards dive since they don't hold any value after the binder people get their copies. When I see EV drop set to set it shows is me the player base are getting tired of this game and going back to MTG since modern Horizons 3 is killing it and bloomburrow is on deck. This game isn't alone, I'm curious to see what happens with Star wars unlimited which I have a decent position in.
@@CardboardKingdom after fees and shipping, yes. Most of these stores don't have their own sites so they shell out to platforms and are struggling to break even. That's a dump my brother 😭
@@CardboardKingdom I mean they don't have their own website where they aren't paying out 14 percent to an eBay/tcgplayer. That fee is killing stores in a world where the margins on sealed product are thin at best. If a new game like Lorcana is going to have legs it's going to have to have YEARS of a market where singles can sell at a rate that's worth it for locals to care. If set EV is shrinking that's because the competitive player base is tapping out and you're are becoming an art piece game. One Piece does not have this problem. No one is clamoring for a Lorcana reprint set.
