This video shows you how to link your Ring Doorbell to your Amazon Echo.
Once setup your Echo will automatically alert you whenever someone presses the doorbell. It will also let you talk to the person at the door by asking Alexa.
This video focuses on the standard Echo but it will work with the echo dot and echo show as well. It will also work with all models of the ring doorbell including the Ring Video Doorbell and Ring Video Doorbell Pro.

Okay I rarely post comments but this is for those of you who have been trying to connect it for so long. When it says enable skill or whatever, if you have the option to enable the skill and connect it to your Amazon account, do that instead. It worked for me so it might work for others good luck 😏

have set up all right, it doesn't do the announcements though? but can ask it to talk to the front door and the conversation works. just the bell and the announcements on the echo pop doesn't.

Hi, is there an option to change the ringtone of the alexa application too? It isn't loud enough to be heard.

YES. This is what I’m trying to figure out. Is there really no way to have the chime without Alexa also making a formal announcement?

A FIX for all the issues people are having with notifications. its convoluted, but if you create a routine in Alexa App for when doorbell rings etc, you can get the doorbell sounds, etc or canera shown on Echo Shows. Allows you to selectwhich devices its heard/shown on & whether for motion or doorbell press. Does need a seperate routine for each device.

I tried this and it worked but kind of annoying. So I disabled the routine and it magically worked as it was supposed to on all devices. Cheers

How do you stop echo making sound and just show the front door. There is no option for "doorbell sound" that says "none" in that setting!

Mine stopped announcing on my Alexa devices sometime back in August. Called Amazon but they couldn’t figure it out. Seems others are having this issue as well. Still hasn’t been fixed.

Mine was doing the same. Checked the alexa app. Checked ring app. Nothing. Then I checked my echo show and, for some reason, do not disturb was on. I cancelled it, and now I am getting the announcements again.

Had mine linked for 2 years and just randomly not linked despite saying its linked. Simply wont come through my echo device at all.

I’m having this exact issue and it’s driving me mad! Bought a chime now so you can hear that in the house I can see the live feed but it’s not announcing on our echo plus or dots

Yeah i just set it up for my mom and it does work well. But now i tryed it for my my sister and it doesn't work at all. its so frustrating.

Mines the same, can see the live feed but won’t announce on any of our echo devices at all, tried disabling etc but nothing I’ve bought a chime now and it’s pretty loud so you can hear it around the house (you can change the volume if you don’t want it so loud)

For some reason my Alexa stop announcing when someone pushes my Ring doorbell it worked perfectly for 2years then around this year in August it stopped saying “someone is at the front door”
