You should do a video how to DIY mount the Echo Dot 3 to a wall by simply drilling a small hole to the bottom back portion. When you took it apart I noticed there is ample space for a screw head to fit. The new Google Nest Mini has this as an updated feature.

We now have four Echo Dots throughout our home. Out newest one is a 3GEN but the speaker has an annoying buzzy sound. I've messed around and my return window has closed. Any chance this could be caused by a loose screw or damaged speaker cone?

If you keep the echo dot close to equipment that uses an internal transformer like a UPS or a stabilizer, the speaker can get permanently damaged.

It will be a locked firmware, I do no think you can crack anything.. You can do extensions though, add it to other speaker or ad a better amplifier.

@The Lavian no the alexa wouldnt be able to spy on the user.. It would only work when the button was pushed in the app.. Not when it picked up a random noise that triggered it to listen..

I have one, but I don't want it because it is a spy instrument. But I need a speaker for a smartphone.... What can I do? Can I dissamble this Echo Dot, keep just the speaker part in 3:45, remove the electronic circuits (for no spy me), use a headphones' cable, attach it in some side, and have a "Echo Dot just like a speaker for smartphone" ??? Is it possibly? Can comeone tell me how? Thank you all.

@@NeuroticJonas can not sell it... Amazon sell it for 20-15 € , so people would pay for mine just 7 or 10 €. And for that, they prefer use Amazon and have the product in their own houses, and fast..

@@Adriano.C either way you can't or you won't use the device, give it away to someone, sell it or throw it away. Buy a Bluetooth speaker without network integration because even if you can isolate or find the microphone the device works with the Alexa app integration so you would have to connect it through the app which conects your device and make the Bluetooth and wifi association.

Yes, it's possible. You would need the bluetooth tranceiver from the circuit board, though. Since it's integrated into the power as well as the CPU, you're better off building your own bluetooth circuit board and re-using the Echo's speaker.

Same is happening with me. Those ants has destroyed my Alexa speaker. Speaker is now having buzzing issue. So, I claimed the warranty and Amazon is refunding the whole amount, even after using for like 8 months.
