I hope that video has helped to clear up any questions you had on Amazon barcodes! If you have any questions about this, comment below and I'll get back to you. Ready to take action? I've created a FREE 4-part video series that will help you learn exactly how you can start selling on Amazon: tatianajames.com/fba
@@everready2903 not really... but you definitely want a SG1-UPC code. Brand Registry you need to have the trademark/brand legally completed. Brand registered account gets some extra perks. You like how some product pages are just bigger, a lot more information and pictures and videos and you keep scrolling down to see the ratings etc. that extra space and pictures and what not is like one of the perks a brand registered listing can do. optional.
Can product labels have GS1 UPC codes embedded, but the large FBA boxes filled with products shipped to Amazon have FNSKU products outside the boxes? Or should product label barcodes match with outside the box barcodes?
If I am planning to eventually sell online outside the Amazon (as well as on Amazon), then I should probably use UPC barcodes everywhere, to be consistent, right?
I have listened to so many RU-vidrs try to explain this, and have always walked away confused....until now. Thank you Tatiana, for explaining this in a way that was so understandable. Finally, I understand how this works.
This was extremely helpful! I've watched a few videos looking for an answer to this question and was left confused. Thank you for explaining it in a way that was easy to understand. Much appreciated!
Hi Tatiana james Thanks for your making a helpful video. I just wanna add something important. As you've said that if you are selling phone case and if you want to sell 1000 case you just need 1 barcode for all those 1000 pieces but if there is a variation in colours or designs then you have to use another barcode to identify a different colour and design. For example you selling 1000 phone case and 500 are blue and 500 are red then you will need 2 separate barcodes and then generate 2 separate FNSKU then it will be alright. Thanks
@@TatianaJames almost ready to launch my first product. I was hoping to have it ready for Christmas but had a surprising number of hurdles to overcome.
Quick Question. What if for example you are selling phone cases as you said; but you have two different types of phone cases. Example: Iphone XS phone case and a Iphone 8 phone case. Do you need a different barcode for each type?
You should use the GS1 barcode so that you dont have to do different barcodes for each channel when sell off amazon too. FNSKU will only work with Amazon, no one else. UPC barcodes work with any retailer. If you are worried about co-mingling, turn this setting off in seller central.
We can apply for GTIN Exemption initially while starting business, no need for UPC. Gradually once income is stable then can easily switch and use UPC.
I can see some people are confused here, I'm one of them! that if we need UPC barcode and Amazon will generate FNSKU barcode from my product listing, then how come Titania said use only one. After digging a little on the internet, I found out you need UPC for product listing, and you only need to send the FNSKU to the supplier not both as FNSKU will be your product barcode unique identifier, so don't send both, just use UPC to create your listing don't send it to your supplier and FNSKU is the one will go into your product package, that's my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks Titania and everyone for sharing your knowledge.
I'm honesty lost I have 100 sets, in each set I have 2 pieces (1 hat, 1 hair tie), can someone break this for me? Trying to figure out how to create the listing for the set. Each set is in a small white box. And 100 small boxes are in on big shipping box.
Hi Tatiana, im new to FBA (going to sign up as a seller soon) after watching your video, thank you so much for the informations and tips. Im a bit confused here with the barcode, do i have to buy the UPC Barcode before i sign up as a seller to later get the FNSKU barcode to sent this one to the supplier so the supplier could put the FNSKU on the packaging? Many Thanks Xx
Hey Tatiana, your content is so helpful but i was wondering if the american upc code can be used on a product from a canadian company as i'm from canada but would like to sell products on both the american and canadian amazon market!
Hi Tatiana, I am a new seller on Amazon and I want to lunch my first product. I am very confused because there is a lot of information to know. I would like to have a training with you. What should I do please? Thanks.
so if i ship a box of say 500 phone cases that big box that has the cases take 1 UPC barcode and each phone case requires 1 FNSKU, is this the correct way to do it?
Thanks for the video Tatiana! I'm still not clear though... So do I have my graphics designer embed the GS1 UPC barcode in my packaging then I send my supplier the FNSKU and have them stick that on the packaging and that's what Amazon will scan?
when shipping products to amazon when doing fba do I pay the shipping fee to there warehouses or do they cover the expense and if I have to pay for it how much will it cost?
Hello Tatiana! Great Video... But I need to make sure I have this correct... If I am understanding this... The UPC Barcode from GS1 is basically worldwide "ownership registration" of my particular product that Amazon uses to make sure it is linked to my Brand name. They then use this to identify my product and produce the FNSKU barcode which is then linked to my "actual listing" on Amazon. I would then need to put the FNSKU onto my packaging to identify my product to my listing. Is this correct... I DO NOT need to put the UPC Barcode on the package only the FNSKU?
So I am shipping 1,000 shoes from China to an Amazon FBA in the USA. The manufacturer asked me for the bar codes. I assume she (the manufacturer) is referring to the UPC codes - which I buy on GS1Barcode. My question is, do I buy 4 UPC barcodes for 4 different color shoes that I am selling (1,000 units total) and send these codes to the manufacturer for them to print? And then would I buy the FNSKU stickers after the products are sent to Amazon FBA, moreover where do I buy the FNSKU stickers? Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the great content!
Great content! What barcode do I need to have on the product packaging if I want to sell on Amazon FBA and in my own shop on Shopify (shipping products directly from Amazon's warehouse)? Is it enough for me to have only the UPC / EAN code on the package?
That's an amazing explanation and, I think, saved lots of time for everyone who watched this and other videos! So thanks for that, Tatiana! Just wanna clarify: when my product will be ready to go, on a package will be ups (along with design) and fnsku as a sticker, right?
Hello Tatiana, I will sell my products on Amazon UAE, so When I am creating my listing I should put the barcode that I have bought it from GS1, then amazon will create an FNSKU barcode for me, then I will put it on the product package, Am I right? and what about the big box that contains the products? What is the barcode that should I put on the big box? Is it the same barcode for the products?
Thank you for your valuable knowledge. Can you please clarify the following . I’m selling a couple of hundred units of my product. Do I only need one UPC label code from GS1 embedded on all the boxes 📦? What details do I require on my Amazon seller account to print the FNSKU code sticker(s) ? Thank you for your answers
Yes...one GS1 Barcode goes on all the 100 units of that product. Secondly you need to create a Listing on seller central account to generate FNSKU for each unit. Based on number of units, number of FNSKUs also generated, which you need to take soft copy of the same and send them to your supplier in PDF format to print and put it on each carton!
I get this, the only thing i dont understand is, she said we only have to use one sticker but here we have to stickers which we need to put on the packages, that is still confusing to me, anyne wants to explain it to me!?
@@learnanythingforfree2131 So, if you put the barcode on all the products and then you send the FNSKU to your supplier to put on the carton are you not putting two on there? I think this is where I get confused because she said only use one. If I send both to the supplier, isn't that putting both on the item?
I am still confused; do you stick both barcodes? You said you don't need both but amazon requires UPC. so which one goes in the packaging ? UPC OR FNSKU
So I am a little confused. We are launching our first private label product and I went and bought the GS1 1-10 pack of UPCs. When I sent my supplier the barcode he showed me a much different bar code that others use. I can only assume that is the FNSKU sticker. So do we have both the UPC and the FNSKU on our packaging?
Hello, Just wondering about opening seller central account, Arriving at Boutique section, I’ve been asked to get one of codes as UPC, ASIN, Order number.. but I still didn’t select a product yet please is there any one can help with a suggestion to finish a process opening my account. I was thinking to get GTIN code but to get one I need to provide them boutique name & product description! The problem is that I still didn’t find a product! Thank you for your help.
Plllllllease i have a question I have order an item from a supplier in china and they said they will provide me a free upc barcode But this is my first time selling on amazon i dont know if they will accept that barcode or not pleasssse reply????
Hi Tatiana, thank you for the highly informative video! Quick question, does each product require its own unique FNSKU? Or is there one FNSKU that will be applied to all units within our shipment?
What if you have 1000 iPhone cases, but different color variants, will each unique color require a unique barcode? & Thank you so much this video was extremely helpful!
I have a product with 7 different variations. Instead of buying 7 UPCs can I buy one UPC to verify my amazon account then print 7 FNSKU and have my designer put those on the packaging instead of the UPCs?
Thank you for the clarification. How do we send it to our supplier if I'm ordering say 500 products? Do we email them the file with just one FNSKU and they're able to print 500 of them or do we print 500 in one file and send to them?
How do you get packaging and the product together? I am so confused. Do we ship packaging to the manufactures? and if we are using their original packaging then would they put barcode on item. What I understand from your video is that 1. get barcode, 2 make a listing on amazon (but how do we do that at such early stage?), then send PDF to suppliers. If I order 5 barcodes but only need to use one as I only got one product how does that work. Plz clarify! Thanks
Hello Tatiana, thank you for the video. I have a question. We need the barcode to create the listing to get the FNSKu to embed on the product label. So this means product is not finished design yet but how can we create the listing without finished product with FNSKU label on them?
Hi Tatiana. Please, I wondering that you mentioned that the UPC code 1-10 is about $250, if need one barcode, so what we should do the rest 9 barcodes? Thanks
I'm trying to add a product on amazon, I have gs1 barcode but the message says that I use EANs, UPCs, ASINs codes that do not match The product I am trying to list. Please help what should I do thank you very much
so basically i got a GS1 UPC, and printed it on each of my products, -- its a little confusing because they still assign a FNSKU and suggest printing it, but if you have a GS1 UPC on your product , sounds like thats all you need
I have a question I have one product but different designs should I use 1 UPC number or 2 UPC numbers? (one UPC for Each design) can any one please help me in this issue Thank you
Hello, These videos are excellent!!! thank you... I have some questions, do I need a Barcode for each type of product case? for example, I have 1 iPhone case black and one green, will I need two seperate barcodes? and secondly, what if i have different designed cases? will I need a seperate barcode? and lastly, what website do you recommend to purchase Barcodes?
Hello I'm a little confused. I am trying to buy the Gs1 barcode and it's asking for the company information and order contact information is that both my info or Amazon info? I haven't created the Amazon draft yet so I don't have the address for Amazon yet?? Please help
Hi Tatiana If I am selling waist trainers XS-XXL sizes and 2 different colors do I need a UPC for each variance ? Or same UPC for all even though they are different sizes and color ?
I thank you for your information wondering though I have variations of 1 type of product. Do I need a GS1 upc label for each variation or can I just show the different variations in the same listing with a single gs1 upc for the product and all variations
Thank you very much for the information.. I have a question about this topic: What would you recomend if I also sell my products in other market places and in my own website too? Which barcode should I use? FNSKU for Amazon, and UPC for my web and the rest of the market places? Thank you very much
I have question about using reversed wholesale method. If I start selling the product what is already on amazon, do I need to have my own bar code for this product? And do I need to hire supplier who is going to put FNSKU on my product or who is going to do this? Really appreciate if you can help me out!!! :)
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. So if I want to launch one product. I just need to buy 1 Gs1 barcode and can use on any number of units. Is that right?
Hello, You mentioned that we need to get one registered barcode for let’s say 200 products. Now, do I have to tell manufacturer to stick the barcode to the product or if I write the upc number while creating the page and it will be fine?
Everything is great about learning stuff here, great presentation, pace and style. Ive been resisting having to comment but Jesus! For a moment let me just forget everything and sincerely tell you that there is this magical thing in your eyes, like you fall in love with someone just like that. that forehead .. hmm Also by the time Im saying this Im feeling a sulk because ah whatever. I wish I came across you in real life and earlier.
I love your video. question if you leave in another country and want to sell in U.S market were do you register your GS1 account in order to purchase barcode.
Hello Tatiana, thx for ur awesome video. May I ask u what do u do after printing those labels out, do u use a label printer with adhesive back and put them on by urself?
Thank you for sharing this I have one question that you only need one barcode right. If my product already have the upc code, we dont need asin code right?
hi iam ordering 100 pices of nickelsits from Ali baba it’s not private labeling product which bar code i purchased and how i submit bar code in product
So if we get the supplier to print the barcode on the packaging, we are able to retreive that on our amazon seller account? Have been confused on this for a while. Thank you!
Since one bar code is good for say up to 1,000 units of iPhone cases, when I go to restock the 1,000 units do I need a new barcode or does the original bar code from the first 1,000 units suffice ?
hey tatiana thankyou so much it's just what i need ,my question is ,if my oroduct had 2 colors do i need a different bar code? also how do i send it to my supplier does a screen shot of it work
What I understood with the calculator on GS1 website is that you need an UPC barcode for eah color and each size! So let's say I have a product with 2 different colors with 4 sizes, so I will need 8 barcodes! Again, I'm beginner too but it's what I understood from GS1 website and other youtubers. :)
Hi Tatiana I am really confused to get barcodes, if I have one product to sell and the product has different models and sizes do I need to get different barcodes for each model and sizes or still need to have one barcode for them? I really appreciate if you can do this clear of my mind. Many thanks
Thank you Tatiana!! I'm currently doing product research but once I'm in touch with suppliers, I'll definitely get back to this video. Could you make videos about how to level up in our twenties and money management? thanks in advance 💗
