Pro tip - Buy yourself a can of “Plexus” - it’s an aerosol spray for cleaning and treating plastics, developed to keep fighter jet canopies in to optical condition. Headlights won’t yellow if you use it to clean off the lenses once a month
Hey man, love your content. I was SUPER close to buying a 13 Tacoma with 67k miles on it… I somehow stumbled on your video explaining why the tundra was the better truck for you. I agreed whole heartedly with your logic and set out to find one. Just found a one owner 06 DC gray example for a great deal at a Toyota dealer. Can’t wait to follow you on your journey and learn from you in the process!!
Awesome video brother, I appreciate the time you took on the detailed install and review of these aftermarket headlights looks promising. I was considering also replacing my Tundra headlights they actually look worse than yours. You just gained a new subscriber with this awesome video. Hope you and yours are well and taking care, I’m looking forward to scrolling through your Tundra videos and watching more awesome content.
Glad to have some more content on this truck. You have been a great help; I'm glad you're healthy and back at it. OFF topic, but what are you using for window deflectors (they look in channel-which has been impossible for me to find)?
Truck looks great. Have you researched LED/HID headlights on the Tundras?Surprised you didn’t pop some in. Looking forward to that to that head unit vid. Keep up the good work. Congrats on the house and family.
Thanks! Yes I have - I have a popular headlight projector and led retrofit install vid from a few years ago. I have the parts, just need to do it and film it! I appreciate the kind words! Stay tuned
Looks good. Im in the same boat. Bought new ones just over a year ago and the clear coat is starting to fail. No link to the one's you have? It just says promo ended.
Hey bud, nice video. I’m a new subscriber and have been tuning in to your channel. My father bought me an 01 extended cab with the 4.7 a few years ago for a birthday gift as I was in need of a new work truck. This thing sees about 800 miles a week and is all over back country roads and long stretches of highway. It has decent ground clearance in stock form and is so smooth on the highway. Never let me down once. I just did the new timing belt and water pump as it was already due with 220,000 miles. Unfortunately Yita doesn’t make headlights for 01 Tundra so I’ve been looking on Amazon but would like to stay away from the brand you bought the first time around. Any advice? I did add led bulbs and its so much brighter but the oxidation on the old headlights sorta throws a messy beam. Keep up the great vids!!!
Thanks a lot!! The First pair had no name and I cannot find the link of those. I'd pay attention to how much chrome is in the headlight area. The yita good set I have is only black in the areas that are not the reflector area, which is what you want. Hope this helps!!
7:08 "there are some clips in the back, here. I'm gonna unclip them. That should be pretty self explanatory." [Glosses over the only piece of information I needed from the whole video.] The white clip doesn't come loose or have an obvious release mechanism. Any advice?
Hey there. So it's almost 6 months later from when you originally posted this video, and I'm wondering how these headlight housings are holding up so far? Thanks!
Love your videos! Keep it up. However, I just bought these headlights after watching your video but my adjusters won’t bring the beam down no matter how much I turn the knob. Now I’m blinding everyone when I drive. Did I get a defect? Was yours difficult to bring the beam down?
Hey Chris K... Have you tried turning one way a little to unlock the adjuster and then going opposite way to adjust? Works for me and my 2000 Tundra. Cheers
@@jamm197511 Hey Jody - Yea I spent a couple of hours trying to go both ways and what not... That was even taking too long so I used a ratchet instead to try speeding it up. I haven't had any luck...
@@csk310 its kinda finiky...try like quarter turn one way then go multiple turns other way. If doesn't work, try again going quarter turn opposite way then switch again. Good luck
I added LED bulbs to mine and, yes, they're brighter, but the light dispersion is not ideal. do you know of any housing replacemnt that works with LED lights?
I highly recommend adding a projector, but when you do you need to make are rhe LED is bright enough. I will probably go with a hid if I add a projector lens in this housing
Привет А почему не купил Toyota Tundra 5.7. У меня точно такая же Tundra , как у тебя и цвет такой же. Таскаю прицеп 3.5 тонн . Думаю брать по мощнее Tundra 5.7.
My dad turned me towards these trucks years ago and I just sold my 2017 tacoma with the intent of buying one of these trucks. If you would be even remotely interested in selling I will pay TOP dollar for this truck. I'm in Kentucky myself & would be ecstatic to own this truck. Please let me know if you would. I'd gladly pay WAY above msrp
That's headlight clear coat failure. Unfortunately those headlights had a really cheap clear coat that fails very fast. The UV rays damage them. The turn signals are made of a different plastic and that's why it didn't yellow. The turn signals are the same Plastic as the taillights which almost never go bad. They don't have a clear coat.
