They did 5his previously to the Amazon sellers who’d helped them flesh out their platform. Once they saw a better opportunity, they abandoned those 3rd party sellers and trained chines factories to sell directly on their platform. Now they’re mainly an online Chinese discount store with no care for patents or copyright.

Amazon will continue to adjust royalties and commissions. Upto the point where they either no longer need other merchants or a X % drops off their platform. Another point is if Walmart can get their act figured out with their platform and allowing sellers open new shop to allow more competition or motivate merchants to jump from Amazon to them. I believe you talked about another option in depth on other videos. Creating your own website/store . Driving organic traffic via short form video and pins. Just don't remember which video 🤔. As someone selling his designs as prints in T-Shirts and such, it is even crazier and Amazon will almost „hide“ your products to favor their merch by Amazon equivalents. I think it‘s fair to say, that it comes close to modern slavery, even tho, no one directly forces us to sell on their plattform. Fun fact, Amazon earns more per sold T-Shirt then I do, unless I would raise the price per item to $30. Meaning, I would not sell at all. As many others here already mentioned, we as consumers should re-think giving such companies all the power. Yes, it seems to be attracting as a buyer, but only until the day, where Amazon will also take over your business and you have to work for them in one or the other way.

I’m not saying this is the worst thing they’ve done. I’m sure they’ve done many worse things. The reason why this is a big deal is because it comes at a time when people have less disposable income yet the cost for Amazon pod products will go up. The quality will stay the same (which is crappy) and overall it will make it harder for people to sell. All the while Amazon is still profiting an insane amount of money as the base cost for a basic black T-shirt should not be $14+

I started selling books on amazon that I collected at book sales, and they will not let you sell a book at what you want to sell it for. If it was valuable at one time, and I left it there, then years later, they will deactivate it, if I don't change the price. I always feel like Amazon favors the buyers and screws the sellers. I also have been fighting with my city in northern CA to make Amazon reduce their backup noises on the trucks. They added in a senseless noise that can be heard throughout my condo complex. I've grown to hate Amazon because of those two things. I also just finished my graphic memoir of how I used my health and fitness knowledge to stop my mother with mild dementia from forgetting me, and it worked. I will definitely not be using Amazon, although everyone suggests that. I've learned that retailers get 40% of the book's retail price, leaving the actual artist at less than 20%. ugggh that makes me wonder why I even wrote the darn book. As a digital artist who wants as much personal control over my business as possible, I researched many options including RedBubble and Amazon. I chose to set up my own e-commerce store on my own Wordpress website, beginning with an ecwid/printful integration, and I’m in the process of getting approved for an alternative payment processor as well. I’ll have my store up and running very soon. I didn’t like the idea of giving any of my business or control over to a greedy corporation like Amazon; especially having briefly worked in one of their fulfillment centers and having to quit on the spot and leave with a fever over the stress produced from the work environment and the 45 minute drive to and from the fulfillment center and home each day. As I sat there, ill and visibly unwell, I was told that if I didn’t give two-weeks notice, I would forfeit any chance of working for Amazon ever again; even as I told them that I would be dead in less than two weeks if forced to continue, considering that I had a 101 degree Fahrenheit fever just on my third or fourth day there. Once you start selling on amazon you will understand the top selling ids are running by Amazon itself. Don't waste your time on Amazon. There’s a tons of POF sites out there. Use those. Not to be a nudge, but let me point out one fine detail...Amazon is the one actually paying to Print our Products on Demand...we are only the "designers". They pay for the shirts, cups, whatever; they pay for the labor to create said product, and they pay for/do all the marketing. THEIR Cost of Goods Sold is increasing, not ours...our workload isn't even increasing. As a matter of fact, our actual work is done and everything that sells is passive income focus. Amazon has to make money (they're in business for the same reason as we are), and as the cost of everything increases and minimum wage increases, they have to make that money somehow.... usually by raing prices to consumers and decreasing percentages to affiliates/merch/etc. Put yourself in Amazon's shoes...try to think of a solution that keeps THEM, and ultimately US, in business.

Idk what y'all have instead of Walmart over there in jolly England, but if you shopped at Walmart, you'd know that it was coming. Walmart has its own manufacturing brands in every department for every item that sells well, and they price their brands below the competition in styles and amounts that appeal the most to their largest customer demographic for each region. I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon brands of the exact same product have different prices based on your ip address location.

Amazon Merch is actually awful in terms of its interface alone. You can't even use one design for various products. You can only choose a single product a day per design. And if they don't sell, your tier doesn't increase. And the size or position of your design can't be changed within amazon Merch. It needs to be exact dimensions and that's it. And unfortunately, the other platforms for POD, amazon dimensions don't look good. So unless you are willing to prioritise your life just for amazon, or make two sizes for each design, amazon really isn't worth it. Apparently you don't know how the t-shirt business works. Printing with a basic 4 color process takes time to make a screen for every color (4 minimum for a quality print), hose out the negative space, let them dry, set up the printer, line up the screens to print, add the ink, run a couple test prints, print the shirt, (if the order is for one shirt-then you tear it all down, run the shirt thru the oven to dry the ink, fold, tag, box, tag, load, tag, outbound ship (fuel & manpower), unload inbound (fuel & manpower), drive to deliver (fuel & manpower).... And you're griping about your royalties?? When I ran a print shop we always explained to the customer (somewhat jokingly): The first shirt is about $500, but every shirt after that is $10. (You see, they would order several dozen at a time- if they wanted more, a month later-therr was a set up fee).
@shimmymorris1

I have literally done this business with a print for less than $4 per shirt. I appreciate your comment and your experience. But there is absolutely no way Amazon (one of the biggest companies in the world) are paying $10 for the shitty T-shirts they produce. It’s well known that they make an absolute killing from print on demand. Their margins are insane.

I’m confused about this... who is manufacturing the garments? And who is shipping them all over the world to their customers? When I owned a fashion label, I had to do everything in house. I designed the garments and made the patterns. I shopped and bought the textiles. I had a factory manufacturing the goods. I opened the accounts in the retail stores. I ran the wholesale operation. I organized and produced the fashion shows. Handled all the returns. Managed all the shipping..., Etc., etc... I’m getting exhausted just thinking about what I used to do. Just curious at how this is working...

Digitally creating an image buying some shirts and printing designs on shirts. This is what is happening. @@shimmymorris1 👋🏻 Shimmy, The lack of quality products is why I haven’t been in a hurry to even try to list on Amazon. One of the things I’d hoped you’d address in your quality reviews was fabric content-which does make all of the difference in garment life. Poly-cotton will always pill (which means form little balls on the fabric) and the pilling makes the fabric look old & worn out. 100% cotton or 100% polyester will not pill- which is caused by the different types of fibers separating, because polyesters are one long fiber around which the shorter cotton fibers are wrapped. The newer fabrics which add a third fiber for a silkier feel are adding more problems-quicker pilling and continuous shrinkage as used by adding rayon (using different names for it but having the same qualities including even shorter fibers.) I bought one triple fiber content tee because I liked the design and it was pilling in the underarm area after one wash-only good for wearing around the house now. I wouldn’t want to sell anything but 100%cotton for a shirt to be worn next to the body. 100% polyester is good for outerwear maybe a windbreaker or to move sweat away from the body like for bike riders like the polyester Sock worn under woolly Sock. But polyester is made of oil and so is oil loving meaning body oils will eventually stain the fabric-which is why generally it’s better used as outerwear. Manufacturers know this but polyester is cheap and the general public just think their clothes wear out fast.
