Limit property taxes. Make it so they only fund certain items. Schools, law enforcement. justice system Fire department, in major cities only based on population. Small towns do not really need fire departments. Fire departments need to be user paid fees. Meaning you pay monthly if you want their services. My Fire department can not put out major fires, they do not really attempt to do so. They primary save people, not houses. They do not risk their lives doing so. Major fires are put out bye the Forest department here. air tankers . Our fire department can not put out forest fires. That is out major issue here.
@@troyb.4101 No, people should not be continually taxed on anything purchased once. The taxes were already paid at the purchase of the home. Sales tax should be adjusted to fund those.
The job market sucks. Man I have never struggled like I am now. Can’t afford to buy something for $50. Working 7 days a week, 10 hours a day and my wife works 40 hours a week…. It’s only getting worse, gotta get back to work. Thanks for you guys are doing!!!
People are their own worst enemy. They were given the option to work from home and nobody said it was permanent. Nobody told them to move away and buy a home elsewhere. There was no contract signed to work from home permanently. Seems many followed the wrong crowd. Got too pumped up and caught up with the “work from home” crowd hype in the forums and comment sections instead of thinking on their own using common sense. Not the wave of the future they thought.
Quitted an Amazon Warehouse job in May 2024 after 7 months there. Not worth being treated like a robot slave for $15/h, 10+ hours a day with 4 days a week with my pay getting cut often that I barely even make $2K a month. I only wish the worst of people who work in that hellhole.
I haven't been having trouble getting my orders from Amazon yet. They need to lay off these overpaid CEOs. I bet they're going to replace employees with illegal immigrants.
Do not become a PARENT at this time unless EVIL and SELFISH not caring enough not to being the child into a never before seen Economic Catastrophe that makes Great Depression, Hirsohima/Nagasaki/WW2 seem like the best time in human history.
People that lived beyond means, with debt,FOMO, YOLO, keeping up with the Joneses, spending money they don’t have ,too big of home they can’t afford, new cars, too many kids,no saving or investing, etc. are broke. I didn’t do those things. I’m fine and live in a more affordable state as well.
My property taxes went up 32% this year in Small Town NC...ON A 60 Year old never renovated House with half of the front soffit damaged by a falling tree...To add to that, the assessment was a 20 year old knocking on the front door and asking my son two questions.
I got one better. I live in a house the government inspector said is unsafe after Hurricane Ida, yet the same government said it's value more than doubled.
There’s a senior freeze at 65 and double homestead exemption in my state among other senior perks and benefits. From what I have noticed here is as long as you stay in place properly taxes won’t go up much unless there’s some improvement like a room addition, swimming pool, large deck. When it sells the next owner will have a small increase in property tax. Since I bought my home in early 1994 my property tax was around $800/yr…gonecup gradually. Been as high as $1700/yr. but remained at $1650/yr. since filing for homestead in early 2000s. I live in an upper middle class secure gated condo community between suburbs and country/farmland.
I used to work in amazon’s photo studio, they had a projector on the wall so we could watch Jeff spend billions of dollars to go to space. 2 weeks later we were notified that they were closing the studio. I worked at 3 different studios as they were closing, it was always very sad. I learned a lot of stuff there and met some cool people, I am thankful to have been around for that era, but I quit shopping at Amazon after that.
@@mrbob19561It is critical we have a Law to force all people who reach puberty to immediately get that birth prevention surgery, and only allow some to become parents based on a lottery which is only for married couples together 10 years where 1 in 100 couples are allowed to cause birth. With A.I. within 10-15 years 99.99% jobs will be wiped out.
Amazon packaging has gone downhill in the past few months. Combining delicate breakable items with heavy items. I've had to return or be reimbursed for damaged items so much lately. What the heck is up with this company?
Amazon pays well. Someone getting paid $250K will get replaced by someone making $180K for the same job, and they will be happy to take the $180K and drive to the office five days per week.
@@mrbob19561At least they won’t be left at a desk dead for days like Wells Fargo. A bad company is not worth working for, even if it’s local and not remote. Let those bad companies sink.
AI is going to take alot of those jobs. The tech gold rush is over. For any jobs still left to an actual person, they will pay them less than in the past. That gravy train is ending.
Time to stop using Amazon until the CEO exits. The more people who do the quicker he will go. Some politicians probably had a quiet word in his ear because of CRE debts and empty offices.
They should have came back to work when they were asked instead of continuing to work from home and arguing. Employees set themselves up for this. Was just a matter of time.
@blackworldtraveler3711 amazon stated multiple times that it wasn't going to be returning to office. Many people built their lives around that statement.
@@blackworldtraveler3711Not every business is worth to go back to, especially when they don’t treat their employees well, underpay, and overwork. Use your brain.
@@EmilyGloeggler7984 Heck If it’s not worth it just don’t go and find another. Simple and not rocket science. I was using my brain working, saving, and investing with a Schwab account since I was 15. Didn’t ruin things by having kids in my teens and early 20s. Didn’t like working construction after high school so I worked the job for two years saving every cent and went back to school. Did my due diligence, stayed focused, and chose a marketable career I enjoyed around advanced aircraft and spacecraft. Retired aerospace metallurgical engineer debt free in my 40s.

I agree 100% that the lean method is just corporate BS. They're right that it is just a signal to the market that they're going to be changing things to try to make themselves appear more efficient and profitable when in reality it really doesn't do anything and in fact it brings company morale down so now they're going to have an issue with being able to staff people.
Thank you @realestatemindset these layoffs are the big story that is getting far less attention than it warrants. Layoffs crash markets and real estate. When employment falls down, everything around the middle class falls down. That will trickle everywhere.
Layoffs preserve profits for business..so the shareholders like that. And stock price goes up. It's a whole new stock market since COVID. Not like the one in 2008 2010..have a lot of people trading from home
I for one won't be complaining about falling real estate prices I'm just saying! (not a homeowner but no way I woulda bought between 2020 and now). No. Way.
Did Amazon tell its employees to buy homes and move to another state? No, they said the employees who could, could work remotely. As we know, remote could be anywhere in the world. It's the employees who made those choices. The display of piss-poor, selfish behavior during the health crisis has made me view humanity in a different light. I was in property management and the number of people coming from Los Angeles bullying their way to get an apartment in the Inland Empire was quite something. Now, if they got that apartment and their employer says in 2024 it's time to come back to work in the office, are those same people going to be happy commuting 4 hours one way to work every day? I think not. I don't have sympathy for people who made devastating financial decisions. One thing people should take away from this is nothing stays the same. Highly recommend the book, "Who Moved My Cheese?"
Yes! Those people were so arrogant. Moved to work remote. Took high tech salaries to lower income communities. Snubbed their nose at locals. No tears shed from me.
The home were overpriced due to the people who "overconfidence" in their sattlement. Buying house without plan to live there more than 5 years is superrisky esp the insane market.
Yeah employees of many companies went too far with “remote” thinking it was permanent wave of the future or something. Tried to tell others they were taking the remote thing too literally. Now the companies are calling them back and they are too far away to commute. To make matters worse many kept on with “above means” lifestyle like the Great Recession/housing crash and 2020 never happened. I would have stayed put and been thankful I didn’t need to face weather, traffic, gas prices, wear and tear on my car,etc.. I retired 15 years early in 2020 and know what it’s like to not drive to work.. My car is in the garage most of time and only fill my tank twice a year among other things.
The Amazon Ceo sucks. Everyone is just a number and they are starting to use a lot of 3rd party supply chain centers now all over the place, that mostly just use temps.
I work from Home. I am happier, I don't commute. I don't need anyone watching me or holding my hand. I know if I don't complete my work or make my deadlines then its OBVIOUS that I am not working! If something at home keeps me from working for 1 or 2 hours I will make it up at night. The point is not everyone needs to be watched or in the office to complete a job. I probably wouldn't take on extra task if I didn't work from home. Last thing I want to be doing is working late and eating crappy vending machine food for dinner while I sit in a office late at night. I feel sorry that some take advantage of the fact that they are allowed to work from home.
Ummm we did it all before 2018..so to balance the economy have to fill the commercial real estate offices so companies can write that off..become a subcontractor slash consultant LLC write off the car and gas maintenance..partially
My oldest sister worked from home since the late 80s but she was an RN that handled insurance and whatnot between a group of doctors and their patients. She did her job well and didn’t need anyone looking over her shoulder. She was the type that had complete control and sometimes worked beyond the normal work hours when needed. Her pay was up to around $120k/yr. before retiring in 2020. But I can see that with some of those stay at home jobs partial and full constant monitoring is necessary.
Exactly! I work from home and it’s literally the best. I am much more productive, I participate more in meetings when there is less bullying from bad coworkers. I’ve had my first promotion ever from having outstanding results. All of these people saying you need to come to work is ridiculous. And honestly, I see it more from men than women. Try being a woman in a female dominated office place, it’s literally hell and why everyone is miserable. I am a better partner, friend, etc. because I don’t have to play office politics.
Gotta use every tool you got before you say payoff Tell people to come to the office knowing they are fired if they don’t “comply” even tho they are doing fine from home
Mitch is saying that no one owns their land/property. I totally disagree with this statement. Every inch of this united states of America is under a land patent, which is a forever document. Go claim your land patent and stop paying property taxes on your private land. There are many Supreme Court rulings that uphold the land patent.
Duh! Who expected them to tip their hand before canning the employees about to be automated out of jobs? Out of the kindness of their hearts and concern for their employees? Wake-up!
These young people think companies are caring and loyal. Where they get that from? My parents told me that no matter the job prepare as though you were going to lose your job tomorrow.
Seattle residents voted against a new stadium for the Seahawks 3 or 4 times and they build the goddamn thing anyway. They literally do not care what the people want or believe. All that matters is the kickbacks for them and their friends and family.
I wish every single tax bill both state and federal and county came with a breakdown. How much we pay for military, immigrants, social programs, foreign aid etc.
I live in Scottsdale, AZ. My property taxes dropped $200 for a full year. Taxes here are very affordable compared to other states. The reason for the discount is because of litigation.
I keep telling people this is a big country and crazy stuff they see on the news and video about property taxes, condo fees, insurance, gas, home costs, utilities, etc isn’t happening everywhere.
As a home inspector in Michigan, I have seen a big up tick from people moving back into the city bc they are no longer remote workers and need to go back to the office
I'll slightly disagree. Managers can go back to being a contributor. It happened at Facebook, and my company. But yes, they're expecting people will quit. There will be a deluge of requests to boost pay as well, and that's when the axe will drop.
This is why you have to move up the capital structure, out of employee and up into owner, as much and as fast as possible. Being an employee, especially in an “at will” state, is a ticking time bomb.
Unfortunately the US is finished imo as the rot has set deep from top to bottom. The moment the fed was introduced and then the US went off the gold standard it was only a matter of time before the US got into this state. No matter who you vote for the debts will continue, inflation will grow and the scramble to raise money only increases. A vicious cycle that cant be broken unless huge pain is inflicted on the masses. This is the story of the west in general as they increase debts and produce nothing with financial economies.
It makes sense why they cut the middle guy. Based on my own experience. My manager held up 4 mons to approve or review the issue. Our IT doesn’t make to change the request until my manager approved. So I had to do manually and redid the work after IT allowed me to talk to the application vendors while my manager went on 3 weeks vacation. I got a lot of things done without my manager approval and covered his tasks also my tasks in 3 weeks.
It will be interesting when everyone everywhere get the notice. Just exactly who will have the resources to bodily remove everyone everywhere from their homes. I wonder if everyone everywhere refuses to move out.
Not really. Normal here and great service. Must be the area you live, warehouse locations, and where your product was shipped from like the actual business, vendor, import facility(like with my harvest time/date stamped imported extra virgin olive oil),etc. instead of Amazon. We even have overnight delivery starting at 4am where I live.
“Ownership” is just a code word for responsibility. Usually without pay increase. No doubt he figured out he can just let the employees underneath take the responsibility.
Bottom line - You are better off learning new skills, avoiding corrupt bad companies and business practices, and you have the option to start your own business(es) and become an entrepreneur. Better than ending up like the Wells Fargo woman left dead at her office desk for days. Save yourself the grief and don’t go back to a bad company - be it local or not. Let the bad companies go under, as they deserve.
I just saved/invested early at 15, avoided debt, lived within means, marketable high paying career field, and retired in my 40s debt free with two pensions, paid medical until 65, and free lifetime global flight benefits any class among other things. Also apolitical, avoided marriage and single mothers, and a passport traveling the world since 18. That Wells Fargo woman ended up like all of us will one day. She just chose her location, lifestyle, and situation.
Return to work mandates are just a way for companies to cull employees without having to pay severence or warn benefits. Saves them a bunch of money. Only the desperate come back.
Business owners are in business to make money..ITS THE GOLDEN RULE..HE WHO HAS THE GOLD RULES..you are not gettiñg fired you have a choice ..go to work ..or don't..just like the old days
They must’ve already started the mass layoffs because I was scheduled to have a package by 9pm yesterday. 9pm came and went and then I got a notification from them saying Sorry… your package will now be delivered SEPTEMBER 22. From 9/17 to 9/22?? They’ve already laid these people off.
What is happening with the NAR settlement payouts. I completed all required paperwork and have heard nothing back. Does this mean the lawyers get everything as usual?
The increase is because competition is less. Companies are getting wiped out. I don’t like to order online. I used to get my stuff at bed bath and beyond, or pier one, etc, but now only have target or Walmart
I am adopting Buddhism practice by shredding the materialism, making our own food at home, and minimizing the media and communication. Simple way of living.
You should try to find some data on consumer credit scores. I’m curious to see if scores have been dropping. That also gives us a better perspective on the financial health of the consumer as well.
IN 2024 my property tax increased my monthly mortgage $400. If the government increases it again in 2025, I will have to either sell it or return the house to the bank
Its an interesting opportunity to bring all the managers to be in the office so they can Unionize. Sinse, there will not be enough managers left to keep the business operational during a worker action.
Wages won't pay for any of it? And there is no 'law' that requires that a wage be paid to pay for 'the laws'? But hey, 'tax heaven' 'offshore' that assures 'campaign contributions' is 'legal', and that is not enough money for everybody else, you know, to pay for THEIR 'laws'.
Travis and mitch, I have a question Context- i've watched all these videos but not gone through the links So if this all correct, and lawsuits start ending positively for this side, property tax is done away with and sales tax is increased etc etc... how does the government 'make the wronged whole'? It just sounds like an extra bunch of debt that has to be paid off by the taxpayers anyways. Unless there's just no compensation
I have an Amazon store and it's been very successful up to last year. I cannot compete with Amazon competition. They have priced me out and did it to themselves..... my buddies with stores are also priced out. Not worth effort and shipping costs have eaten away at the crumbs left....
Income stream dried up huh? Not as much Amazon steaming into the postal service now as it was earlier in the year. People are more focused on food and fuel now, it's ashame that the political system has NO CONTROL over price increases established by the rich and greedy. Why don't we drop the interest rates so those fine folks can get loans against their properties?..... You see now why that does not work when the margin calls from paniced Bankers come in otherwise we wouldn't have these problems would we?
