Yeah the guy hates the character that is literally the closest thing to a player character from the games in the whole show, including being a gun toting badass that gets shot and shrugs it off while blasting people left and right (he obviously didn't watch it far enough to see that stuff of course). The Ghoul even makes a wink-wink joke about getting distracted by side quests, which was one of the funnier jokes in the whole show for those who played the games.

They're all usually just terrible and we finally got a good one with Fallout. Not only that, player count on the Fallout games is up +400%-+1,000%. Fallout 4 is back to launch numbers. Fallout 76 has more players right now than at launch. Even 1-3 and New Vegas are all way up, and those are old games at this point.

As someone who has played the games, I think Maximus' early scenes should have been cut entirely, and he should have just been somebody Lucy met on the road. We didn't need a whole story line about him before that. Otherwise, it was really good.

If you are planning to play Fallout, i highly recommend Fallout 1 or 3 or New Vegas as your first entry to the franchise.

I know the actor is like 35 but I think the character is supposed to be late teen-early 20s. So if we stretch the time and say Maximus was almost 12 then and just turned 17 we could say it’s only been a little over 4 years. But it’s a stretch, and either way, doesn’t interfere with any established time lines
