Can't even argue its unique to 4 either. In Fallout they start a war of extermination against mutants, in new vegas Marcus speaks about being unlikely friends with a bos paladin, in fallout 3 the ghouls from the underworld complain about brotherhood knights shooting at them for no reason.
18:59 the BoS is basically portrayed this way in every game, they always treat outsiders like shit have a couple characters that are ragging d bags that you want to see die, and some that you really like. I feel like he even neglects that in 3 the "good" Brotherhood still takes potshots at the ghouls of Underworld. The Brotherhood has always been grey even when they're "good"
I will say this chapter of the Brotherhood seems a little more traditionalist than the Capital Wasteland Chapter in Fallout 3 and 4, much less willing to work with outsiders, but that's not out of character for what a Westcoast remnant would act like, especially if the eastcoast group that comes to back them up is of a similar mindset. Part of me wants to see the Mojave Chapter pop up in season 2 with Veronica at the helm to contrast against the current group, if say independentance ending for NV is canon and they started working with the factions of Vegas (even then, House is probably alive, though likely disconnected). Assuming the "Mr House" ending isn't canon and tge Brotherhood was wiped out I might explain how they're managing since they couldn't remain isolated much longer as they were

“Most normies only played fallout 4” proceeds to cite Fallout 4s opening as the be all end all to what fallout is about Also, to Papa’s point about vault 32, I think Moldaver has some connection to 31 considering she’s the only other character to have survived since the war that we’ve seen. So potentially we could see how 32 was infiltrated so effectively in season 2
idk if cryo freezing and cold fusion would be made under the same company but if moldavers company made cold fusion she couldve also made the cryo pods in the vault and had her own pod that she survived in for a while.
I doubt Papa reads through these comments much BUT... For his question about the Vault 33-32-31 and why 31 didn't know about what happened in 32. They did. Vault 33 and 32 were identical experiments both getting leaders from Vault 31. However, the people in Vault 32 figured out what was going on and revolted against the overseers. Lots of people died and what little "staff" Vault 31 had moved to Vault 33 and just sealed up Vault 32. Thats why you saw "death to management" written across the walls in blood in Vault 32. This happened probably a decade or more ago based on the condition of the bodies. Also why once the brother and the other guy returned from Vault 32 the future overseer questioned where they were. She knew they explored it and thats why she had it cleaned up practically overnight. She knew they had been busted so she quickly made a move to make it so even if they told the rest of the people in the vault, no one would believe them. Vault Tech often does the easy thing and not the correct thing.
I imagine we will get flashbacks to what happened in Vault 32 next season. How did they find out in the first place? Obviously Hank and betty ddnt know what happened in Vault 32 or they would have known it wasn't actual vault 32 they were allowing into their vault.

Imagine appealing to authority this bad xD. No, Tim Cain obviously doesn't like the show, he said he loved Fallout 3 when it came out and years later he said that he only said this to not get blacklisted. The same case is obviously here. @chandllerburse737 my brother in christ, as someone who works in the industry I can tell you "concept" is only the beginning stage, execution comes much, much later down the line. you can have the best idea in the world, if you cannot execute it, you cannot sell it (unless you lie, but hey, that's also the standard for the industry so fair game ig)
@chandllerburse737 >just because he worked on a game that was bad doesn't mean his opinion is valid this is only true (in this context) IF he didn't work as a producer, writer, etc. - In short involved with lore/world-building of the franchise. he is congradulating an incredibly flawed show in these specific aspects, and you are using him as validation for claim that the lore is not being retconned or spat on. So this is a clear demonstration that, while a capable programmer, he is worse than incapable when it comes to creating an actual world, as his track-record (and current enbrace of the show) demonstrates.
@chandllerburse737 I should make a video about how dumb the Samsung auto correct can be. But I don't argue with children, and have better things to do than make sure it doesn't go. Moral of the story is, go touch some grass Arthur.

The Ghoul’s shotgun revolver is literally realistic. As it’s literally a modified shotgun revolver with the stock and barrel sawed down, and he makes his own ammunition for it. With the space in a 12-20 guage you can pretty much do whatever with it. One of the shells literally had a nail in it which was awesome.
NGL I thought it was like a nuke pistol that just works like an incendiary round. That's at least what the rounds looked like in slow mo. I thought it was really cool
With the cold fusion chip and why not dig it out. Lucy tried to mess with it at the campfire and it shocks her multiple times. Meaning it probably can’t be handled in your hand. It was injected through a syringe and when it’s taken out it’s with a syringe into a container. So they wouldn’t know to take it out with a syringe and she was Lucy was shocked with it and why would she try to pry it out. Then with the ghoul serum. Yes there isn’t anything in game to mention this however the Enclave and Vault-Tec are studying radiation on humans so they could have found a way to stall the turning process. Cause there is a difference in a ghoul and a turning ghoul. I think you can be just a ghoul vibing but when that feral turn process starts, that’s what the serum is for.
If I remember correctly Vault Tec build the vaults and tried to get the nukes to launch so they can have their experiments so the theme is basically that a company unchecked/having to much power aint good
I think the vial is a fine addition to the Lore. Fallout 1 its 2161 and this takes place in 2296 so in that 100 plus year span they could have created a anti-feral drug on the West Coast. If they could make the Geck, the Highwayman, New Reno, the Enclave, and the NCR between the events of Fallout 1 and 2 then this should be fine. I do agree that if it was made from ferals that would be interesting almost like soylent green situation.
The only thing I’m going to disagree with you on is I think the ghouls wife DID emotionally manipulate him so he would stop asking about the vaults. She just manipulated him out of fear to protect her family. They do say that the best manipulators will use sprinkles of the truth to manipulate you. So she used her honest feelings about him being off at war to convince him to drop a subject

The Vaults were advertised as something you had to buy into for a spot; in reality, a lot of them let in people based on criteria for experiments, but no-one outside of Vault-Tec and the Enclave knew that. So yeah, the average Wastelander WOULD see Vault dwellers as a bunch of rich kids.

Yep, they hinted at super mutants and I'm glad it was just that. Save some reveals for later seasons. I dont know why people expected to see EVERYTHING from the games in 8 episodes.
The Brotherhood is extremely grey. They are based originally off of being a religious order similar to Christianity and even have different chapter all over the US similar to how Christianity has different chapters. Each Brotherhood chapter has the freedom to do what they want as long as they follow the founding tenets. Bethesda has always been highly anti communist while also being against monopolies and oligarchies which is what they are portraying in the show. Vault Tec even states they’d be one true monopoly.

It makes sense that wastelanders would have different view of things. Yes EVEN after 200 years, not everyone would have a clear idea of what Vaults truly are. Even Maximus's view of the vaults isn't entirely accurate.
It is so weird to see a handful of progressive and inclusive themes in a good show make the racists and anti pronoun/trans people completely melt down. Like, calm down. We live in a sea of heteronormative media. This won't kill cinema. Also, if promotion of "race mixing" is an issue for you, then please do some soul searching and ask yourself if you're one of the bad guys.
@randomusername3873 To be fair, the entire left is not a monolith. I mean, yeah, there are leftists that advocate for ethnostates and racial seperatisim or whatever. I'm not going to be delusional and say it doesn't exist. But generally, the average majority leftist doesn't want to divide races or prevent people from having children with whoever they want.
53:00 Super mutants are sterile, so extinction was probably their faith. Also, wastelanders are scared of super mutants, so they also might have helped with their decline.
The ghoul serum thing is a retcon but it makes sense. If radiation makes them go ferral why wouldnt they take drugs like rad-x or radaway to prevent them from happening.
“One of many moments where Maximus is borderline evil” he says. Yea, no sh*t, that’s so when Lucy invites her knight in shining armor to stay with her in the vault, he can admit that he’s not as great a guy as she thinks. God forbid a character be at all complex 🤷♂️
