Respect for your high-quality work! But How is it possible to make a living off this channel? And pay your rent? I guess you're not alone and have a little team. Are you secretly paid by Alibaba, the Chinese, aliens, Amazon or the Russians? Even with factor box sponsoring it doesn't add up to feed the family. Or does it?
Factor's business model is equally dystopian. Wagie slop cooked by God knows who, packaged in a toxic plastic box that you then microwave to destroy your hormones and fertility even faster. The box is also disposable, so that you can poison people that don't buy it by polluting the environment. Yummers.
Its really easy actually if you work hard. My SO was offered manager within 4 months and then the other manager moved up to being a regional manager person
@@RichManSCTV0 "really easy" >Describes an entirely luck based situation that depends on another person retiring from, dying in, or being promoted out of an extremely desirable position Sure, buddy
@@Yixdynot true and it doesn’t even require hard work, yall make it sound like Amazon is impossible to move up in but a lot of bottom tier workers don’t even bother to try and apply. All you do is just pass an interview
imagine a future where sitting outside in your garden means a constant stream of giant metal mosquitos buzzing by but at least you can get some earplugs delivered in 30min.
I'm pretty sure that the closest a company has ever come to winning capitalism was the Dutch east India company. They basically owned a country or two, multiple massive islands, world trade dominance, a private military that was one of the largest in the world at the time. And they literally _invented_ office work. Ps. The first office worker in human history hated it, and said he spent half his time doing nothing pretending to be busy, it's been an issue for hundreds of years.
I believe you regarding the first office worker and want to read more. What was his name, or that of the book/records on that? I'll google as well, but you randomly knowing suggests you may have read up and have better quality than a random google. It's fine if not!
I looked it up, while they ceased production in 1799, their worth was $7.9 trillion in today's money. 4x the amount of Amazon. I bet jeff bozo feels incompetent yet... that company lasted 200 years... Amazon turned 30 this year... only time will tell.
Astro: What is my purpose? Jeff Besos: You tell your owner they left the stove on after leaving the house without actually being able to turn it off. Astro: Oh my god...
Oh look a dystopian future where Mega Corporations can launch potentially AI driven drones from a mothership that can theoretically be made to track your exact location. I'm sure that technology won't be used against the people during a war!
No need for war for it to be used against minorities and to repress political dissent, which would be a pretty scary future even without war. Black mirror type shit
I rarely leave comments but this was possibly the most impressive youtube video I have ever watched. The production and editing is absolutely incredible as was the script writing and narrative.
"If an intruder broke in your house they'd probably be at least somewhat hesitant to hurt a dog but with Astro well I'd take pleasure in it." Hard oof for the robot, and hilariously true.
"If an intruder broke in your house they'd probably be at least somewhat hesitant to hurt a dog" - not if its a police raid and they entered the wrong house by mistake. Then they'll shoot all the dogs they can find. They'll shoot your cat. Even your guinea pig, believe it or not, vaporised. They'll shoot the fish in the tank even. They feared for their life so it was justified.
damn i agree entirely but when robo rights become a thing 52 years from now your robo boss is gonna pull this one up and i dont know if your gonna get that promotion anymore :(
I worked as a package handler at an Amazon facility back in 2020, only for a month though. I had to be clocked in at 4am. My first break would be at 8am, where I'd usually just fall asleep in my car and come back to the shift 15 min late. The looks I'd get from the higher-ups whenever I came back, you'd think I killed someone. Then back to scanning packages off a fast-moving conveyor belt for another 3 hours, till I'd clock out at 11am. Everyone was so disconnected, like you were simply a cog in the machine. My god that place was so depressing, not a single soul looked even remotely optimistic about their work. That's why I lasted a month, I just couldn't take it anymore
Typical of warehouse work though. Doing the same thing might seem incredibly dull but it pays the bills. Millions of factory employees do that and experience worse in China.
It’s more clever than you realize. He actually triggered my Alexa devices while watching, even on my TV it showed a response to what he said. And right as she’s waiting for a response, he says “cancel! Cancel!” And Alexa goes “request canceled.” Broke the 4th wall there
Amazon is not the only soulless organisation. I work in a hospital, during the pandemic instead of actual support, they turned an empty board room into a "wobble room". Literally a room for us to cry in....... I really hate the current world status.
I don't get it, you've just written that sentence with a colon at the end but where's the end of the joke? What do you do when in a high effort competition against slow start? Am I supposed to imagine the joke?
Whenever I think of evil patents I immediately think of that Xbox patent where they give you an ad and the only way to close out of it is to stand up for your camera, raise your arms, and proudly shout "McDonalds!" before you're allowed to continue watching TV.
that would be the last words my tv would ever able to process before i rip its guts out and wire the panel to a hdmi cable. you might be able to record me, but you cannot stop me stabbing microphones - in a product i bought btw - with a hot soldering iron.
You have stepped up your production quality my guy! As an ex amazon employee, you hit the nail on the head. They would use us as guinea pigsto test out whatever kooky bullshit some guy in an ivory tower thought would better productivity
There arent many other videos/creators that are this funny, this talented, with this insane production! Dear algorithm, please do your thing for our boy, this is a million view video!
My man, this is not only incredibly animated, but excessively creative, informative and funny as hell. Absolutely a perfect video thag deserves way more attention!
I mean is not a bad ending if you can have an anime girl as your wife, so yeah, maybe working for Amazon is not that bad (at least in that future) But in our future weeeell... Let's not talk about that
What people forget is that Amazon did 2 day delivery before Prime, and it was free. The introduction of Prime wasn't a bonus (pay us more and we'll deliver in 2 days) so much as it was extortion (pay us more and we won't artificially delay your delivery by a few days). Exactly like they've now done with ads on their video service.
Dude, every second of this video has a lot of attention put into it. All of the editing, animations, the scripts and jokes. Huge respect, I always admired your editing, but this blew my mind. Really hope this gets at least a 1mi views.
I think the drone mothership is a pretty great idea, the wage cage is a car without decor, the augmented reality glasses seem like a no brainer, alexa is a terrible idea but has taken with more strength than any other scary patent (i will never understand why), and the facial recognition is in every smartphone, tv, smart fridge, and basically everything smart. We have the tech in my security system in my liquor store, it lets us know immediately what that custer has done in the past, how often they wear individual garments, alerts us when a hottie is coming in, it can call the cops when a thief comes in, and we can look up people who came in just by typing in "red shirt," "black slacks," or "naked homeless guy." Its awesome, i love it, and it makes customers think i care when i tell them about a new flavor of smirnoff they would probably like or that we got thunderbird back in stock. And we can add notes like "when she wears the green shirt, suggest something on the bottom shelf to see .... whatever
Been around since a couple thousand subscribers, it’s been insane to watch the increase in video quality! This video looked amazing, and you are really growing into your own brand of humor!
I feel like the drone program idea is a risk managers worst nightmare. Now every package has its own trip and god knows what thieves, saboteurs, and anarchists will do.
The fact that I happened to be watching a bunch of Cyberpunk videos the past few days makes this video legitimate nightmare fuel cuz this is actually spot on for a cyberpunk dystopia
Lets recontextualize the wage cage a little bit. Imagine you work in a warehouse, and are provided with a vehicle. This vehicle doesn't even require you to drive it, you just get in, sit down, and it will take you wherever you need to go quickly and safely while you get a few moments to just sit and relax. It increases efficiency while simultaneously reducing strain, that's a win-win for both the employees and the employer. It also means you can't be rushed trying to go from place to place. A person on foot can always be pushed to move faster. An automated vehicle moves at a set speed.
@@bo2_435 Tethering the employee to the machine is a bit much though. The old "timed bathroom visits is a separate issue with or without the cage, although on that topic I do want to add that a LOT of people abuse their bathroom privileges in warehouse jobs. Amazon micromanaging you there IS really really icky but I also get where they are coming from given the bad apples who tend to spoil it.
@Sotanaht01 no, these are not positive.... congratulations your now trapped in a machine. You want to go for a piss? Nope! Your feeling ill? Get to work peasant! Theres a fire in the building? Better hope the machine lets you out!
I wouldn't expect anything less from the man that created the Bionicle documentary. Really well done video, man. I look forward to your next vid in ~3 month's time!
Honestly replacing workers with Robots at Amazon facilities would probably be a good thing since humans wouldn't be forced to work in the awful conditions
Less jobs = less money for consumers, more money for Amazon, which further contributes to their power acquisition, allowing even more jobs to be replaced by robots until eventually they own so much of the workforce that it's virtually impossible to get a job where you don't work for them. Slippery slope.
@@scrappyanimations4096 Someone has to service the robots. Additionally, someone has to make the parts for the robots and also extract the resources necessary to make the parts, which in turn means someone has to produce machinery parts for the machines that extract resources so on and so forth. The moment Amazon replaces humans with robots means that they deemed the the cost of hiring a human to be greater than the cost of purchasing the robots to do the job with maintenance cost also factored in (Including the wages for those who would service the robots). This also means they are likely able to scale more rapidly since Amazon will not be directly bottlenecked by workers (Amazon could be indirectly bottlenecked if the company they purchase robot parts is for whatever reason unable to supply more parts at the price Amazon deems worth the cost of keeping robots rather than hiring humans as workers. However this would also signal to the market that robot parts are in demand which means more should be produced which again means more jobs, more machinery more resource extraction etc.) which in turn means more output. This also means more profit for Amazon in that they will be able to reduce their prices to compete with competitors such as Walmart in an attempt to gain a larger market share (It is for this reason that a company can actually profit more from reducing the price of an item rather than raising the price of the item). It is important to reiterate that this benefits the consumer because now they are able to purchase the same or similar goods but for a cheaper price so in this instance it is a win win situation for both Amazon and the consumer. What I'm saying is Amazon replacing it's workers with robots will probably not actually mean their will be less jobs. Fun fact 61% of Amazon's revenue is from third party sellers and has only been increasing since its inception.
@@scrappyanimations4096 This is such a dumb way of thinking. The ultimate goal is that nobody is forced to work shitty jobs. You say it will be impossible to find a job that's not at amazon, but you fail to realize that at that point, most of the work will be automated. If we automate shitty jobs, it is a good thing. Obviously in the short term people will lose jobs and wealth, but then things like universal basic income happen. Most jobs are already pointless, if you want to work them go ahead but don't force me into your weird view of the world. Rising unemployment rate is a good thing.
Dude I love your style of editing, and keeping the viewer hooked! Very packed with information, but never a second of bore or disinterest. Please keep up the good work! We need more RU-vidrs like you!
You are my hero, Slow. Never fail to deliver: CGI set pieces, jokes, quips, and general education as always. Love the new production approach. Let me know when you stream again. I look forward to it.
I'm going to take a guess and say peak history and science channel docushows. You got to see triremes with catapults and flamethrowers in 2000's cg. It was pretty peak.
This production was OUTSTANDING. Def do more how twisted and hard bent the world truly is. That which matters the most: especially in the context of technology, the future, and in light of how the world really operates.
Yeah, it's nice... when you work in an office or at home and can stand up, stretch your legs, walk around, get a drink or a snack, go to the bathroom, and come back after a few minutes. Being stuck sitting in a chair, unable to even stand up for eight hours a day, surrounded by a cage too small to even stretch your arms out to your sides...?
Holy smokes! Amazing production dude. The animation was great and the story was very intriguing, i didn’t get the urge to click off once! And that’s really saying something.
17:17 It also doesn't help that if you fall below a specific percentile of that quota, you get written up automatically. I got fired back in June because I didn't meet them because I had a broken arm at the time. And even though I already had accommodations in place to keep me out of departments with high quotas, they kept sending me back to Pick. Didn't help that my Area Manager was a complete dickhead (also a massive homophobe). The stress got so bad I was openly cutting in the warehouse, and nobody did anything. I'm currently in the process of filing a complaint with the EOC, to get compensation for the bullshit they put me through.
Bro never heard of you before but the crazy good editing and joke quality of this video made me subscribe right off the bat, this is absolutely firing on all cylinders 👌🏻
Who gave this channel the right to make content this high-effort? I am halfway in and the same standard of animation from the start is being used through the whole video. Someone stop this man. He's too powerful.
Video quality and production is unreal! Writing is always top notch, too. Always impressed by your work man, insane what you get up to while being criminally undersubscribed 👏 let’s all keep pushin’ our boy 🫡
Wow. This would have been fantastic as a podcast with just the writing and delivery -- throwing in the CG interactions is Captain Disillusion-level cool.
Please please please do a video on the weirdest patents out there, lots owned by Raytheon & Friends, some to do with stuff like quantum entanglement communications devices.
