Thank you everyone for watching! I stopped making these videos because no one was watching at the time. I wasn't until this video was up for almost a year and a half that people began viewing it. I just hopped on this account by accident and I was so excited to see that so many people found this helpful! Just an update on the lights. After 5 years the lights are still working and holding up just fine. Ive had to replace a couple of the zipties over the years and one of the bulbs is about to go but other than that its been great! We are actually about to sell our home, its bittersweet but our family has grown and we could use a larger home with a more open layout. We're going to miss this place so much.

Question: Since this was made back in Jan 2018, how did the option of anchoring the cable to the tree off your deck? When you suggested that, I cringed. Reason being, the house and deck don't move, but wind will move the tree. Did that cause any issues?
If the solar box uses the 18650 batterys you can put 4 in them and light will last longer . And you can change the batterys to walmart 18650 batterys and it will last more longer
I think the barking dog is a nuisance but don't worry, be happy. Have you considered planting pine trees instead of a fence, those that are full from the bottom up? not sure if it will be as pricey but it will take a few years to grow however, i think trees absorb the noise (barking) better and gives you more privacy. Thanks for the DIY i am starting to look at videos to get ideas as to how to proceed.
just running them along your house would have been enough because the wires look very messy in the daytime going across. add a decent volcann smokeless firepit and some chairs and your golden
Wow I admire you guys patient! I have 2 dogs who love to bark at little thing but I control them, not letting them bark at others like that. That’s just rude!
I hope the fence works for you...however, I had a dog that hated my neighbor (the husband but not the wife). They built a privacy fence and now instead of barking at just the husband, she then would bark at every noise from that yard.
The patience you show with that dog is commendable! I would love to have nice people like you and your wife as my neighbor! That dog is ridiculous, maybe some rat poison in dog food would take care of that problem. 😆

T1 Under 5150 I guess eating outside isn’t bad if you don’t live near a horse farm. My neighbor has horses and there are flies galore once I bring the food out.

How can you possibly enjoy sitting on your deck? Have you checked to see of there is a noise/nuisance ordinance in your town/city/county. No one should have to endure that noise. I don't blame the dog. It's just a dog. I blame the neighbor who owns the dog, who obviously doesn't care about their neighbors.
