I have been searching for this instruction videos for days now. Finally found this. Just bought a similar shower head and want to install it this weekend. Thank you 🎉
Thats true. I had difficulty but I made it work with a longer pipe. Because the tiler brought out the wall to far where the nipple holder was way into the wall.
Yeah I do see the advantages of pex A Larger diameter with fittings Easier to connect in tight spaces. All the speciality laundry boxes etc. come with pex a connections Probably a better system all the way around I do plan to switch someday Just tough with already having a pile of fittings
Those Amazon shower and tub kits really look nice for the price, and yes that mixing valve housing is great. BUT even you as a real pro have had difficulty getting the drop ears placed correctly (you've done a few of these right?). To me that proves these products aren't DIY friendly .. they need to redesign how those parts connect. Other RU-vid channels show exact same problem that other experienced installers have. Thanks for sharing your knowledge .. finished product looks great! P
I installed about 10 of these amazon shower mixers/diverters. I had problems with every single one of them. Seems like amazon replaces brand names that sell the exact product all the time. I understand that the price difference is huge but buying a trusted brand is more like having insurance.
@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Or better yet... As you know, many of the newer US made shower valves (in addition to the shower head) are now being designed to limit water flow due to EPA standards whereas tub fillers are not as restricted and have a higher GPM (so the tub can fill quickly). Instead of plugging the tub port, I would plug the shower stem port and route the tub filler port up to the shower head for an increase in GPM. (providing the work is not going to be inspected / permitted and you aren't concerned with water conservation)
I mean, feel free to stick to your old ways if you want but these are the industry standard for a while now and have shown to be as reliable as copper. You being ignorant and thinking it's garbage has no bearing on reality.
