My dad just passed away, he got murdered and this had been a really really hard time, thank you amber, I see how you really want to do something good, and that you know how we feel, it's really that, been kind, people should love more, I loved how you said the harmony thing... Is really hard to me to talk about my feelings with someone and I'm going to therapy, when I go my mom always says to everyone that I have something for the school or something and that makes me feel like I'm not normal, and i can't say that I'm not okay... You helped me so much with your music and your words, I wish you happiness, we love you, thank you

violeta Prieto hope you read it. But do you know that your reaction towards your dad tragedy is ACTUALLY NORMAL. You are human being with feeling and emotion. It’s so normal.. You are still living and somehow have this will to seek help is already a big step. Talk with yourself first as yourself is your very best friend and someone you can trust the most. Dont talk to just everybody if you are not feel comfortable, it will make it worse. Trust me. Talk to someone that you can trust, that truly listen to you. If you have no one, write diary, try to understand your emotion and why you feel that instead of just ignoring it, because it will make it worse in the future. Last, you are deserve to be happy for you now and your future.

I met Amber during Tour X this weekend and it has genuinely been the best money and time I have fully invested in ever!! Amber is such a lovable soul!! During my turn of meet and greet I reminded her she is such an inspiration to so many people but to get some selfcare too and she said she is trying her best to do so. I'm very glad artists and fans can have these conversations now and actually bring light towards the stigma. I thank Amber for opening up so much to the public about her personal mental health struggles. This llama is totally amazing~~❤

I’ll always love Amber. She’s such an amazing person. I feel so emotional seeing her going through so much just like the rest of f(x) have been with sulli’s passing :( I hope she’s at peace. When I was 11 I fell in love with f(x). Sulli’s beauty stunned me, I’d never seen someone so beautiful. Her heart was just as beautiful. I’m 20 now and many things have happened, both good and bad, and this last year the most heart wrenching and unbelievable thing that could’ve ever happened did. I still think of Sulli daily since her passing and my heart aches every time. More than ever I find myself wishing I could go back in time. I’m only a fan, I can’t imagine what Amber is going through. Amber; you’re so strong. You’ve always been a beacon of light. You’re resilient, down to earth, and gentle. You only want to spread love, and in a world as cruel as this, that’s all we can do. Thank you for speaking up about this. We love you 💛💛💛

I'm soon to finish my studies in clinical and neuropsychology and honestly, as someone who soon will be working in a profession related to mental health, this is such an important message. There is no reason to suffer alone if you can get help. The stigma that goes with getting mental health help is sad and quite honestly: ridiculous. We should be proud and encourage people who want to get better by reaching for that help, not make fun of them.

Yes, this is very much needed right now. With what is going on with the world right now, opening up dialogues like this will slowly but surely come a long way to change public perception of what was once perceived as a taboo subject. It was covered with great sensitivity, a lot of wisdom and with great care not to offend those who may not believe in this. Times are changing. We can't hold onto old beliefs anymore. What's important is that it's relevant now and people need to hear this. Great topic!

@@cephiso I had severe depression (and with that anxiety every day) but I actually never went on any stronger medications (because of personal choice). So yes and no. Medication didn't balance the chemicals in my brain but the help of doctors, and regular therapy did. Or more to speak from how I view it; it healed parts of myself that couldn't heal with just medication. BUT a disclaimer with that is that medication is personal for everyone, so for some it can help you during therapy. Medication isn't necessarily used alone - but interactive with therapy for better results. If you have had this feeling ongoing of going in and out of panic/anxiety attacks then getting professional help is something that I will always recommend.

What helped me the most was to often remind myself to hold myself to the same bar as a best friend or stranger.. as in "if a friend or stranger did the same things I did with the same results as me - how would I treat them?" And not treat myself harsher than I would another human being. I'm a perfectionist too in all too many ways and to get out of my depression I had to have compassion for my human-ness. It angers me that people pulled out jealousy as a response for vulnerability. Feelings are valid and with fame being one of the most lonesome and stressful professions you can have I think that was super uncalled for. People in the spotlight deserve friends that can help them connect on a human level instead of as nothing but an image all the time. Everyone needs that on work/off work switch for that yin and yang balance. :/

Amber, I am so proud of you. It must've been so hard for you and I agree, when people say you have everything you shouldn't feel this way. That's not entirely right. Yes, you have everything but with it comes a lot of judgement and responsibility. But also, a lot of limitations. And that could be a lot of pressure as a K-POP singer. Every move you make is taken seriously and you simply joking can be taken seriously by someone who took offense by mistake. They will love you when you "obey" and "listen" to them. But when you want to do it your way, they will bring back your past mistakes and hurt you with it. Like you said at you're concert. You're doing well, just be yourself. Those who truly appreciate, love, and understand you will be there. Haters are going to hate, that's nothing you can change. But what you can change is how you use their negativity to push you through and become a better person. There is always room for improvement. Whether it be your fans, your family, and your friends. They will be there and any time you need them. LOVE YOU AMBER AND ERIC!! ❤❤❤

I agree with everything Amber says ❤️ Honestly I feel like music labels should have someone (or more people) walk around or just be at the agency on certain days so idols and trainees don't have to battle with themselves, which can keep them from giving their bests! For me honestly, I have been depressed for 15 years (because of my dad's passing and recently because of my best friend's passing) but I don't go to therapists anymore because it just didn't help.... at that point I realized that I'm the only one who can help myself and I'm thankfully doing okay and I have more good days than bad. From what I`ve learned from 2019 based on both events and a personal level, there are cruel and evil people on this earth. Genuinely people with no compasion and humanity. There is eviil out there , but there is also good. But in terms of the public bullying Hara and Sulli went though, there should be laws on severe punishments in bullying public figures and individuals. I dont think changing hearts is possible, some are good people others are not. Laws and policies should be put in place, so that these types of events should never repeat themselves. You cants change hearts I believe, but we can change social norms and attitudes in how individuals should behave, by the using the Law in changing this direction.
@kickrockspleze
@kickrockspleze 4 года назад
The problem is, trying to press charges against social media bullies is hard. Finding these people are not as easy as television make it seem. What we need to change is people's dependency on social media. People have to know when to unplug and remove themselves from that abusive relationship that is social media comments.
@lovenpeace319

The world nor people are black and white. Everyone has good and evil in their hearts it just varies according to which one they nurture the most. Everyone is capable of change but not everyone is willing. Some people are bullies but then grow out of it. Some people start off kind and become cruel. Honestly I agree with Amber. There needs to be more effort in changing individuals. A lot of times people who are cruel are also in pain and they are taking it out on others. Is it right? No. But it's human. Love and kindness would help both the victims find strength and the bullies find healing. At least, that's my philosophy. Sorry that I got long-winded. This is just a subject I'm kind of passionate about.

I believe it all starts with self-love. Hurt people tend to hurt other people. I hope we all get the courage to love ourselves more so that we would see and treat the world and others with more love and compassion.

There is still such a huge stigma around mental health especially in Asia, some believes it to be caused by evil spirits. I feel like there isn't much awareness or education or just attention to mental health and it's devastating as we see a lot more people being lost to mental illness, yet people don't change despite of what happened and the government is slow to tackle the root of the problem. Mental health should be normalised, everyone will go through a crisis at some point of their lives and it is alright to seek help, there shouldn't be shame or fear because of it. It's important for everyone to be healthy holistically, not just physically. But people are also the problem; people can be so harsh and so quick to judge and attack others. Hateful comments are being posted everywhere, I'm not sure if it's because of their age or upbringing or lack of education that's causing them to be irresponsible of their actions and words. What would the world be like if we can all just be kind and understanding to one another.

Thank Amber for telling everyone that it's ok to be in therapy!!! Its ok!!! IT'S OK!!!! So many people see it as a weakness and to let others know that you are doing it as well, means SO MUCH!! To all the young people that you have so much influence on you saying it out loud means so much!! I've attempted suicide 3 different times, the 3rd time was last February. That's when I realized I could not do it by myself any longer, and I got help. I lost my sister to suicide in 2007. She left behind 4 children all under the age of 10. I knew I had to break the cycle!! Thank you both so much for talking about the issues that are so important. Everyone matters!! YOU reading this,YOU MATTER!! Tell yourself that a million times a day if you need too!! Much love and respect to you Amber!!!

Love this podcast! Glad you're addressing the issues and being a public figure, helps people see thing more clearly about mental health. I also see the "Asian" culture seeing this as a taboo subject and it's not widely accepted in that culture.

The impotence. The impotence you feel when you know you can't do anything to change a situation for someone, you just can be there for them and love them and support them even if you don't get them...It hurts a lot. I've tried to commit suicide twice, obviously some people didn't get it but they were there for me, they told me they loved me and they tried their best to help me even if they couldn't see the darkness I saw, even if they couldn't understand that I was unhappy. Now that I survived I am grateful for them but it breaks my heart that we have to find ourselves in extreme situations so that people realise how bad things are.
