Great stuff! I've had mine for years.I've always been curious as to whether it was the Xpander that did the beautiful sustained pad that can be heard through most of Rivers of Belief by Enigma. My assumption is based on an educated guess & knowing what other gear Cretu was using at the time & the sort of sounds they vs the Xpander can do. Can anyone enlighten me?
Honestly, the Xpander sounds really nice, but for ease of use, I would go for the OBX8. When making the video I spent a very long time trying to get this thing adjusted to some decent-sounding settings. It's not that difficult though. I am looking for more reviews on the OBX8 too, hopefully, sooner than later...
@@PiotrGarbaczonek obx8 is super and really close sounding to the obxa /ob8 but it's not an Xpander. Xpander is a different beast. You have 6 envelopes per voice, lag and fm modulation capabilities. Once you master the modulation routings ont he Xpander there's no synth that will sound like it, except the matrix 12 lol
