Saw it in IAA Munich a few days ago and I was very impressed. No German OEM had a car this advanced and exciting. the interior design is as well wsy better than NIO and other major EVs.
Have been waiting for a review of it. I would buy it if I'm allowed being a foreign passport holder. I like Avatr 11 but I've never driven a SUV before nor I would want a SUV. Huawei assist drive so impressive I definitely would need it helping me to accustomise myself to handle local Chinese traffic even though I've been drinking for decades in Australia.
The designers did an excellent job with the interior and it trounces that ergonomics BS. If the interior was made more mainstream most admirers wouldn’t love it this much.
I think door handle inside the car is a one of essential thing. It should be dangerous for pedestrian, cyclist and even other vehicles. Because you can't hold your opened car door, when other vehicles passing trough.
Avatr should have kept the 11 interior design on the Avatr 12 interior. As much as i love the Avatr 12 exterior i will still choose Avatr 11 over 12 because of the 11 interior.
Totally agree with your comments on the interior ergonomics. Wish your review can cover more on other aspects of the car as well. However, I have to say this car covers a very unique niche segment (luxury tourer) which is not main stream.
I agree. Alot of new Chinese EV are trying to be too cool with their interior. Fancy door handles, fancy buttons, fancy cup holder etc. TBH, I just want a beautiful EV car, with good performance and fantastic infotainment system
I like it a lot actually. The rear does have some resemblance to the AMG GT but is distinct enough that I don't care. The interior design looks pretty enough for me to get over the quirks too. All in all I kinda really want one.😅
I have to say those critics on the interior are very poorly given, if the windows switches are in a different position, its because they created a bigger storage on doors and also better access from the top of the armrest. please give the full picture not just your conservative personal opinion !!
It is so strange that people and reviewers burp out that cars should look aggressive. Why? Who wants aggressiveness in traffic? You all pretend you will drive on a racetrack. History has shown that beautiful cars does not need to look aggressive. Not now ether.
Yeah, put air-suspension on it and I will give it a try. But to be honest, no one can beat the Europeans when it comes to building cars. Be it petrol driven or electric, the Europeans are hands down the best in the world. The ergonomics in this car is a disaster. Compare this to the Audi etron RS GT and you will see how better the Audi is.
I just traded in a Mercedes for a BYD - I have to tell you, once you step out of your bubble, you will see why. It is very well possible that it is tunnel vision like yours that actually prevents European car companies from keeping up with the competition from Asia, especially from China. BTW - the day I picked up my BYD, I met another Mercedes owner who turned in his problem prone car for a BYD.
